Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 1064 Powerful Words

It was terrible news for Barnes.

He was surely shaken by it, but he also didn't know what to do next.

"What do you think I should do?" Barnes turned to Darren.

"The only thing you can do now is replace the Inner Fiend and kill him or assimilate him. This is the onlyway you can have a chance of survival," said Darren, firmly.

"You're right. I must kill the Inner Fiend!" Barnes was now frantic. His mind was scattered and hecouldn't focus. All he wanted to do now was to replace the Inner Fiend and never let him escape!

"Go with me, Darren. Come on. Help me out," said Barnes, in exaggerated pity.

"Gosh Barnes, I'm too weak to help you." Darren felt relieved that he hadn't shown his true strengthto the Barnes.

"Damn it! Tsk!"

Barnes had gone from frantic to purely irritated. He knew what he had to do but he was worriedabout going about it all alone.

"I'll just have to do my best, then," sighed Barnes. He trudged away in a mild tantrum.

He had no choice but to leave by himself.

After Barnes left, the Water Kylin was confused. He knew that Darren was lying, since the Inner Fiendhad already been suppressed.

"Master, you lied to him. Could it be, that you found a treasure and you just don't want to share itwith him?" The Water Kylin smiled greedily as he drooled at the thought.

"What? There's no treasure! A crisis is coming!”

"What crisis?" said the Water Kylin in shock. It was a quick turn of events.

"It's hard to explain right now. Wait for me here, and I'll tell you about it as soon as I get back.”Darren immediately sent a message to the witcher ancestor, asking him to transfer him to the riverat the thirteenth layer of restriction.

A stream of Witcher Power began to wrap around Darren and lift him up. He felt his body slowlylighten as he felt more and more floaty. He looked at his arms and his body and noticed he hadbecome transparent as well.

Darren proceeded to trudge on. The restrictions were of no hindrance to him at all, because of thestate he was in now. He kept going until he reached the thirteenth layer.

When he tried to access the fourteenth layer, he found that he could go no further. He supposedthat was the limit of the Witcher Power bestowed on him

Darren sank into the bottom of the River of Forgetfulness and looked for the cave that the witcherancestor had mentioned.

He used his powerful spiritual sense, and in no time, found the cave and entered it.

The interior was damp and terribly cold. An eerie darkness matched the chill of the air.

Darren was lucky he possessed the True Ice Spiritual Body. Otherwise, he would have frozen todeath.

He flew on within the cave, and about three days later, he reached a wider part of the cave.

"Huh? What's that?"

Darren sensed a stone tablet about a thousand feet high in front of him

He quickly bolted towards the stone tablet and stopped right in front of it. There were ancientwritings on the tablet that Darren could not recognize.

"Could she have gotten the information from this stone tablet?"

Darren murmured to himself. He pondered on it, and felt it was impossible. If it was this easy to replacethe information about the World Essence, then the witcher ancestor would have already found it outhimself. He didn't need to send Darren here to figure it out.

Darren decided to ignore the stone tablet and carry on throughout the cave.

After flying for another ten days, Darren reached the end of the cave.

"How strange! There's nothing in here.”

During his days of flight, Darren continuously scanned the walls of the cave with his spiritual sense. He knew he couldn't have missed anything. The sole object of significance was the stone tablet.Darren decided to head back to the stone tablet.

"What the hell does this mean?" Darren was unable to comprehend the words written on the tablet. How was he supposed to get any information out of it?

"Perhaps I could ask Finley to give it a shot.

He's a powerful rule cultivator, and he's also inherited some of his real body's memories. He mightknow what these words are."

A moment later, Darren summoned Finley from the Ancient Void Battlefield.

"What's up, Darren?"

"Do you recognize the words on this stone tablet?" asked Darren, straightforwardly.

Finley did not hesitate or ask for an explanation. He quickly observed the words with his SpiritPower.

"What the—"

He fell back, trembling.

"What is it? Did you replace anything?" Darren asked.

"It's so weird. Too weird!" Finley shook his head to stop himself from muttering further.

"What was it?" Darren asked. It certainly piqued his curiosity.

"Those words are like living creatures. If my Spirit Power hits them, they'll come to life and attackme."

"And then?"

"None of that. I don't want to know what will happen next. I withdrew my Spirit Power before theycould get the chance to hurt me," Finley answered, shrugging.

"Come on, try again. Try to fight the words," urged Darren.

"No, I'm not so confident I can do that." Finley casually tucked his neck in mock fear. It wasn't thathe was scared out of his wits; part of him just didn't feel like going through the trouble now.

"I'm dead serious. You're on an important mission right now. We have to try even if it means riskingour lives," said Darren, with a grave expression on his face.

"What? Is it that serious?” The look on Darren's face let Finley know he wasn't kidding about howserious the situation had become. Finley gulped, and then immediately showed a serious face aswell.

"The existence of the entire continent is at stake here. Don't you think that's serious enough?Enough with this nonsense. Hurry up! We could get some useful information by killing the words onthat tablet,” Darren urged.

"Fine," replied Finley, with his mind set.

With gleaming brilliance, a stream of Spirit Power shot out, and headed straight towards the stonetablet.

"Kill

Darren suddenly heard a chilling chant, as if a powerful army was shouting.

The entire cave began to rumble as a strong crimson light burst from the stone tablet.

With no time to think, something hit Finley with a loud bang.

Finley was taken aback violently, with blood spurting from his mouth.

Darren quickly flew over to Finley and pulled him back. "Are you all right?

"No, no, no. Those words are way too powerful. I can't keep up with them at all.” He looked palefrom what he had just seen. As he spoke, his face twisted in anguish from the pain.

Darren was starting to get more disheartened as his expression turned grim.

"No, this is my problem. If the Spirit Power works, then that means the witcher ancestor should havealready figured this out."

Darren finally realized it. How powerful the witcher ancestor's Spirit Power was! Even the Rule SoulAvatar's Spirit Power couldn't compare with the witcher ancestor's.

"When those words attacked you, did you replace anything special?" Darren asked.

"I was on the verge of death! There was no time to notice anything special. How would I have donethat?" Finley smiled bitterly. He couldn't believe Darren was asking him this after seeing what justhappened to him.

"Finley, then please try again. I'm on the verge of a breakthrough with our predicament.”

"Ah, I'm so poor,” whined Finley. 'It's a matter of great importance, so I guess have to go all out, * hethought.

He stood up and forcibly gathered all his Spirit Power. This time, he chose not to charge it forward, but slowly covered the stone tablet as if his power was running water.

He decided to be sneaky, as not to cause the characters on the stone tablet to turn violent again. It turned out to be very effective.

With great care, he slowly tried to infuse the Spirit Power into the stone tablet.

Finley entered a very calm state while he did this. Darren decided not to disturb him through it."Oh, I get it now."

After a while, Finley withdrew the Spirit Power, with his face beaming with joy.

"What have you found?" Darren asked excitedly.

"It turns out I should have been gentle with it. When I initiated my Spirit Power slowly, I wassurprised to replace the subtle traces on the tablet. These words are really very powerful. I witnessed ascene in which the immortal forced her soul to attack and returned with grave injuries,” Finley said.He began to talk very quickly and got engrossed into his own story-telling.

"Get to the point!"

Darren slapped Finley square in the face to snap him out of it.

"Oh, I seem to be rambling," chuckled Finley.
