Chapter 1293 Dividing The Divine Patterns
At the branch of the Starry Sword Sect in the Tussle Region
"Ha-ha, we not only saved Miss Freda, but we also made a fortune.”
Darren and Murphy sat opposite each other. As for Freda, she was still sealed, and needed time tobreak free, so she had been sent to a quiet place to rest.
"We were lucky this time. But the credit goes to your effort to turn all his guards into yourbelievers,” declared Murphy.
"No, we would not have succeeded without your strength. But we framed Maxwell. He must beincensed, like a mad dog. What should we do?"
"You don't have to worry. In the past, he managed to enter our sect because he sent someone tolaunch a sneak attack on us. This time, I have set up an array to protect the sect. Even if there areten of him, they couldn't possibly breach the array.” Pride and confidence reflected in Murphy's toneas he reassured Darren.
"That's great. Otherwise, we will have to flee again." Darren smiled.
"Rest easy and stay here to cultivate. Don't go out for a while, okay? When it's time, I will send amessage to the headquarters of our sect in Starry Sword Region to report our dangerous situation, and they will send people to help us."
"That's good." Darren nodded before he continued, "By the way, let's divide the divine patterns weacquired.”
As he spoke, Darren unloaded all the divine patterns in the room.
The value of this pile of divine patterns could be estimated at a billion killing points.
"I will take a few level-four divine patterns and award them to outstanding disciples in the future. You can keep the rest,” announced Murphy.
"No, that is unfair. We obtained them together, so we should share them equally." Darren wasn't thekind of person who would take advantage of his friends.
As he spoke, he separated the divine patterns into two equal piles.
"This level-nine divine pattern is called the Darkest Thorn. It belongs to the penetrating series, andit's suitable for you.” Without another word, Murphy placed the level-nine divine pattern in Darren'shand.
"That's true. Thank you, I'll take this level-nine divine pattern. In exchange, I want you to have all thelevel-seven divine patterns. I don't need them anyway.” He grinned as he took the level-nine divinepattern and placed all the level-seven divine patterns near Murphy.
"Darren, this is unreasonable. If you insist on continuing like this, I will be angry with you. Whiledivine patterns are invaluable, it is more important for you to keep them as they will help you leavethe Tussle Region quicker.” Murphy pretended to be annoyed.
"Uh."
"Put them away. If you insist on giving them to me, I'll be furious.” Murphy's voice became deeperas he spoke firmly with Darren.
"All right.” Darren graciously accepted Murphy's generosity.
"Ha-ha, good. Let's drink to celebrate and then you can begin your cultivation. You need to improveyour strength as quickly as possible.”
Boom!
Just then, the whole place trembled, and a loud sound came from the distance.
"Well, it seems that Maxwell has arrived. Let's go and look."
The two flew out of the room.
"Murphy, Darren, come out and accept your death!”
The sky outside was filled with densely packed figures. Apart from Maxwell, there were ten mastersat the middle-level of the Celestial God Realm.
It was the strongest group of warriors in the Ninth Precipitous Mountain.
"Maxwell, you wanted to set me up but failed. Did you think it would be that easy? You got whatyou deserve. Besides, you will never be able to break my protection array. Leave now. Don't makenoise here. It's annoying.” Murphy mocked as he stood calmly, with his hands clasped behind hisback.
"Maxwell, look. What's this?" Darren brought out the level-nine divine pattern and waved it soMaxwell could see.
Maxwell felt a pang in his heart when he recognized the object in Darren's hand. It was his mostprecious possession, but he had lost it.
"Brat, hand over the level-nine divine pattern. If you return it to me, the remaining killing points anddivine patterns are yours. However, if you don't, I swear that I will tear you to pieces even if I have towait here for a million years!" Maxwell roared as fury surged within him.
"Well, then prepare to wait here for as long as you like! Just watch!"
Darren lifted the divine pattern with a mischievous grin and activated his blood essence to flow intoit The divine pattern melted in Darren's hand and entered his meridians.
Maxwell gnashed his teeth in anger.
"Kill him! Kill! Kill!"
Maxwell rushed forward to attack. The other mighty warriors took the cue and bombarded theprotection array as well. Unfortunately, they couldn't break the strong defense.
"Somebody, serve us some wine."
Darren and Murphy sat at the nearest table and ordered some wine, as though they werecompletely unfazed by Maxwell's threats.
Not only had Darren and Murphy mocked him and taken possession of his level-nine divine pattern, but now they were ignoring him as well. Maxwell was so humiliated that his face turned red and helooked like he was about to explode.
"Very well. I can't remember the last time I was this furious.
It doesn't matter if I can't break through this array. I do believe that the Blood Abyss Sect can. I'llgrind you into meat paste even if I have to sell everything I own," Maxwell roared and laughed like acrazed creature.
"Let's go," he ordered and turned to leave. With one final hateful glare at Darren and Murphy, hissubordinates followed Maxwell.
In a desert, the Rule Soul Avatar, Merle, and Jenifer were advancing.
"Rule Soul Avatar, help me kill some powerful warriors. I need to become stronger,”
Darren's second avatar, Merle Chu, commented impatiently. They had been walking for a while buthadn't encountered any living beings.
"No. I won't do it," the Rule Soul Avatar replied in his typical cold manner.
"Why?"
"Your soul is unstable. If you enter the Celestial God Realm, your soul will collapse,” the Rule SoulAvatar explained.
"My physical strength is at the Celestial God Realm already!" Merle stated, indicating that he couldmerge with warriors at the low-level of the Celestial God Realm.
"I said no," the Rule Soul Avatar responded coldly.
"I have to complete the task assigned to me by the real body, so you must do as I say,” Merleinsisted. His tone was colder than the Rule Soul Avatars.
"I'm independent. My real body can't order me, let alone you." The Rule Soul Avatar's expressiondarkened as he stood his ground. As an added step to show that he was serious, he also releasedhis killing intent.
When the killing intent enveloped Merle, he was stunned. How could the Rule Soul Avatar goagainst their real body's will?
"I see." Merle realized he couldn't change the Rule Soul Avatar's mind. Without another word, heturned and walked in a different direction
"Hey, Merle? Why are you leaving?" Jenifer shouted when she saw him leave.
The Rule Soul Avatar raised his hand and gestured her to stop.
"He has made his decision. Nothing we say will persuade him otherwise," the Rule Soul Avatarexplained to Jenifer, who appeared anxious. He could relate to how Merle felt, which was why hedidn't try to stop him.
"What if he encounters danger and gets killed? Will you and Darren be in jeopardy if that happens?"The Rule Soul Avatar stared at Merle's retreating figure as he replied, "No, we won't."
"Okay," Jenifer sighed in resignation. It appeared as though there was nothing she could say to keepthem together. She turned to face the Rule Soul Avatar and asked, "Are we going to the humanrace's Ancestral Land now?"
"Yes." The Rule Soul Avatar nodded.
"Eh? Didn't you just say that you can disregard Darren's orders? Why would you still go there?"Jenifer was confused.
"We aren't going to the human race's Ancestral Land because Darren ordered me. I have my reasonsfor going there.” The Rule Soul Avatar's vague explanation just served to deepen Jenifer's confusion"Okay, you make your decisions." Instead of overthinking or asking further questions that hewouldn't answer clearly, Jenifer chose to hold his arm and continue on their journey.
Meanwhile, Merle moved forward alone. His pace increased as his fury soared when he thoughtabout what had happened.
A house, which seemed to be made of yellow sand, appeared in the vast desert. In front of the oldwooden door was a crooked flag. The word "wine" could be vaguely seen on it.
When Merle sensed the aura of life inside, he walked straight toward the tavern.
"The aura of life shows that there might be warriors at the low-level of the Celestial God Realm."Merle's cold eyes filled with killing intent.
