Chapter 1309 Talk With Finley's Real Body
Due to extreme fatigue, all of them fell on the ground one by one. They were all covered in blood, and they almost fainted.
After resting for a while and catching their breaths, Darren began to sit in meditation to recover hisgod's power.
Lindsay and Finley also followed suit.
Finally, after several hours, they started to feel better.
"What are we going to do now?" Lindsay asked. Darren let out a sigh and said, "I'm not sure. Amysterious Archean mountain just showed up out of nowhere. It did not only take Murphy but alsoseveral masters at the Superior God Realm. Moreover, it left countless powerful beasts in the area. The Tussle Region is facing such a catastrophe.”
"I think preventing a catastrophe is not really the most important thing right now. More than that,I'm more worried about the safety of Master Murphy and Lord Akbar. We don't know what mayhappen to them. I just hope that they're still safe,” Lindsay said with a worried expression.
The Tussle Region was indeed not that kind of a peaceful place. Several killings happened all thetime, and people just depended their lives on fate. In Lindsay's opinion, it wouldn't really makemuch of a difference if these beasts started making trouble right now.
"You're right. We can just hope for now..." Obviously, Darren was also extremely worried about thesafety of Akbar and Murphy.
"Hey, Finley. Why are you being so quiet? Is there something wrong? What are you doing in thatcorner?” Lindsay nudged Finley as her gaze fell on him.
"I'm cultivating.” Finley's voice sounded unusually calm. It was as if he hadn't experienced ahorrifying disaster just now.
Even Darren felt that something was wrong upon seeing this.
Thus, he walked over to Finley and patted him on the shoulder. "What's the matter? Are you takingthose stupid words that I told you seriously?" Darren asked.
Finley just shook his head and let out a faint smile.
"Hey. Are you sure that you're not mad at me?" Darren began staring at him seriously.
"We have been friends for so many years. Did you ever see me get angry with you even once?"Finley replied in a soft voice as if he was kind of embarrassed at what he just said.
"I know. That's why I need you to tell me what's going on. You're acting strange, man. Tell me or I'llbeat you up. I swear!" Darren started to get impatient. Finley was always rowdy and he was not usedto seeing him like this.
"It's fine. Besides, it has nothing to do with you," Finley replied. He then eventually told Darren whathad happened that day.
Hearing all of it, Darren came to understand why he didn't look like himself right now. Finley wasactually upset at what happened to him.
"Is that why you're being like this? If the space that's supposed to be your connection with your realbody collapsed, it's probably because he was keeping you from using his great power. That is just it.What are you so worried about?" Darren analyzed.
"No. I don't think that's all there is to it." Finley shook his head and continued, "For the past fewdays, I feel like something has been slipping from me, and I can't control it."
"What do you mean?" Lindsay asked with furrowed brows.
Finley fell silent for a moment before finally saying, "Emotion. Human emotion. I'm afraid that oneday I might become as cold as Darren's avatar, like a mere emotionless machine.” This was what hadbeen on his mind these past days, and it was really torturing him mentally.
Darren quickly realized that Finley must be suffering a lot of stress that was caused by his real body."Finley, listen to me. You don't need to worry too much about your real body. You are your own self.It depends on you how you can achieve your goals. Besides, your real body may not help you, but Idon't think that he will hurt you too. Just take it easy. We're here to support you. Don't let your liferevolve around him," Darren remarked.
"I know that. You also know me. I'm not the type that keeps on relying on someone. It's just that themoment I entered the Primitive Wilderness, I instantly felt that some strange force was suppressingme. Then recently, I had definitive proof that it is my real body that's behind all this.
If he doesn't want to help me, fine. I just want him to give me a little bit of space for me to cultivateand improve myself. Why does he need to lay a restriction on me?" Finely said in frustration.
There was a slight piercing pain in Darren's heart when he heard these sincere words from Finley. They had been friends for so many years, so he knew him quite well. Finley wasn't the type tocasually show his true feelings. He was actually very stubborn on the inside. If he had beensuppressed for such a long time, Darren could just imagine his frustration and exasperation.
"If only I could meet your real body, I really want to talk to him,” Darren muttered to himself.
"Why? What do you want to talk about?”
Suddenly, a low and cold voice echoed in Darren's mind.
It was so unexpected that the voice sent a chill down his spine.
"Who are you? Are you Finley's real body?" Darren sent the message through his spiritual sense.
"If you really want to talk to me, then come with me.” The voice sounded in his mind again, admitting that he was, in fact, Finley's real body.
"All right. Show me where I would replace you,” Darren answered.
He quickly got up and said, "You two, just stay here and restore your strength. I need to head outfor a while and take care of something. Don't worry, I'll be back shortly.”
"Huh? Something to do? What is it? Let me go too," Lindsay insisted.
"No, it's fine. I can handle it myself. Just wait for me here. I'm leaving now." As soon as Darrenfinished speaking, he quickly rushed out.
"What was that? Why are you guys so weird?" Lindsay muttered in annoyance.
Seeing that Darren was instantly gone, she returned to Finley and sat on the grassland.
"Hey, come on. Why are you acting like a woman? Where's your usual haughtiness?" Lindsay said asshe looked into his eyes.
"What do you really think of me? I mean not from a woman's viewpoint, but as a friend. Do youthink I'm stupid?” Finley suddenly threw some serious questions.
"Yes, of course. I've always despised you. Didn't you realize it from the start? Ha-ha." Lindsay justgiggled and didn't answer him seriously.
"I see. Of course, a loser like me should be looked down upon. I can't blame you for that," Finleysaid with a bitter smile.
"What's wrong with you?! Why are you so depressed? I didn't look down on you when I bickered atyou! I'm just making fun of you. You should get angry and quarrel with me like we always do! Inever meant to hurt you. You should know that..." Lindsay couldn't help but tell her true feelingswhen she saw the hurting expression on Finley's face.
"Well, It doesn't make a difference anyway. I'm still a loser whether you say it or not..." Finleycontinued
"Gosh! Can you stop that? I hate you more when you're like this.” Lindsay rolled her eyes and said, "Ialso have a question.”
"Sure. Go ahead," Finley replied.
"I know that you've always been straightforward, but seeing you like this, I began to have doubts. So, do you really like me? Or are you just kidding around?" Lindsay suddenly asked in a serious toneas she looked straight into his eyes.
Meanwhile, under the guidance of god's sense, Darren flew quickly and landed on an open space.Standing against the light, Darren saw the back of a man in white clothes.
"Here you are," the man spoke first.
"Yes, here I am,” Darren answered.
"So, what is it that you want to talk about?" the man asked.
"I'll be direct to the point. Let Finley go. I beg you," Darren said without any hesitation.
The man in white kept silent for a while before slowly turning around. His handsome face wasrevealed, and it was exactly the same as that of Finley.
"That's absurd. I am him. Why would you want me to let him go?” Finley's real body asked.
"Ha-ha! Really?" Darren let out a loud laugh and said, "It is said that you are on par with Lord StarrySword, so you don't have to play this game with me. I know you understand what I mean. Let youravatar free."
"Exactly my point. He is my avatar. So why do you have the confidence to confront me? Don't I havethe right to control everything about him?" Finley's real body retorted indifferently.
Darren was kind of rendered speechless by his straightforwardness.
"He is like a brother to me. We have gone through several hardships and even life-threateningordeals. With that, I'm the most qualified to plead for him." Finley's real body was shocked byDarren's genuine thoughtfulness. However, it still wasn't quite enough for him to care.
Then, Darren continued, "Sir, like my Rule Soul Avatar, your avatar also has an independent body, thoughts, and emotions. Why do you have to make things difficult for him?"
"So, what do you think I should do with my avatar then?" Finley's real body answered Darren'squestion with a question.
"Treat him like yourself. Would that be too hard?" Darren asked with a faint smile.
Finley's real body became speechless again. He hadn't seen anyone like Darren who treated anavatar in such a manner.
Finley was a part of his soul, which he left behind when he was still young. He condensed his bodyin the mortal world and then came to the Primitive Wilderness. Essentially, Finley wasn't just a mereavatar. He was more than just a part of his real body.
"Apart from making him live on his own, what else do you expect me to do?"
While talking with Finley's real body, Darren wasn't as calm as he looked. After all, he was in front ofa powerful master. Just now, he was doing his best to control his trembling.
However, when he heard those words from Finley's real body, he felt a little relieved and thoughtthat he was finally listening to him intently.
