Talented Martial Hero -
Chapter 528 Visiting the Starry Tower (Part One)
Darren plunged into the mountain lake and continued his search for the fragments of the swordintent.
"Well, not bad," he said to himself with satisfaction.
The reason for his satisfied remark was the notion that he had located two fragments of the swordintent in the lake and finally felt at ease at such discovery.
For the past ten days, he had gone through many detours and was disturbed by the residual swordintent left by some swordsmen a long time ago.
When he detected the sword intent in this lake, he felt that the odds were with him this time. Sureenough, he succeeded.
'The fragments of the sword intent from the Starry Tower propagated across the continent, whichmade me travel five hundred thousand miles before I found these. It was really challenging, but I didit, * he thought with a sense of triumph.
After this, Darren gathered the fragments and poured his blood essence into one of them. Hewaited patiently as to what would happen next and held on to his breath while doing so.
Soon enough, the space in front of him twisted like a coiled snake, and an ancient wild sceneappeared before him. As he was dazed by the scene, a gigantic hand grabbed and took him away allof a sudden.
Gradually as the scene grew clearer and vivid, Darren saw the Black Cliff of Sword Intent that he hadseen before. The movement skills of the sword cultivation drawn on the cliff seemed simple andfamiliar to him now.
As usual, like the last time that he had been there, numerous huge demonic monsters appearedbehind the cliff. They were busy minding their own business.
“Most of them are one-star grand warriors, while some reached the level of two-star and three-star.No wonder I felt that they were unrivaled during my last visit, * Darren thought with a smile. He wasmuch stronger now after all the battles he had experienced.
He decided not to summon Mathew and just waited quietly at the spot. However, to his surprise,Matthew's virtual shadow appeared before him like greased lightning.
"Hi, Darren! At last, you're finally here,” Mathew greeted with a lukewarm tone though still with akind smile on his face.
"I should have come here earlier, but I had some things to settle down first,” with a thin smile drawnon his face, Darren replied.
"Come with me, Darren. I know you have a lot to ask me,” invited Mathew as if Darren was anhonored guest. Then, he flew inside the stone cliff through the door that just opened right beforetheir very eyes.
Caught on the hop of the vanishing door, Darren also flew inside the cliff following after Mathew'sreceding figure.
"Did you have any luck in replaceing my physical body?"
as soon as they landed on the ground, Mathew's shadow asked.
"I did, sir. But I'm not sure if the body that I've found belonged to you or not," betraying his doubt,Darren answered shortly with an increased furrow on his forehead.
"That's fine. It doesn't matter whose body was that. Let me look at it first,”
hearing Darren's confirmation that he had located a body, Mathew uttered impatiently. Hastily andrecklessly, he reached out to grab Darren's Space Ring at once. At the same instant, the bodycontaining the blade intent and the sword intent dropped from the ring as a result of the actionmade by Mathew.
"What the hell? Do you want to rob your physical body out from me?" Shell-shocked at Mathew'sbehavior, Darren sneered, "Now that I'm here, you don't need to worry, for I'll give it to you for sure. What are you in a hurry for? Yet, before I surrender the body to you, there is one thing I need toknow first. Are you the Grand Sword Killer? Are you the one who killed Hanson?"
After asking that question, Darren felt that what he just said was not so proper. He felt awkward forhe didn't know how to act, knowing that the Shadow Emperor had told him that Hanson was stillalive.
"You should know I will certainly tell you about that matter.
But before that, you have to get the grand treasure of my master. In doing that, I need to remindyou that there are only two things that could happen if you break into the Starry Tower. One is you'llbe killed and leave your blade core and sword core inside the tower, and the other is you'llsuccessfully advance to the seventh floor to collect the grand treasure.”
Instead of responding to Darren's question, Mathew reiterated to him the possibilities of Darrenbreaking into the Starry Tower.
"What if I won't go to get that grand treasure?” with a bit of a challenge in the tone of his voice,Darren asked coldly.
"It seems that you've learned a lot about me these days. If it were someone other than you, theywouldn't have come to this place again. But, since it was you, Darren, the young warrior, the savior, the great cultivator, the boy who hungered to prove himself to everyone. Thus, here you are now, soI guess you are in search of something important in going back here. If I'm not mistaken, you wantto improve your cultivation level, don't you? Don't you know that even though I am confined in thisplace, I'm also well-informed? I know what is happening in the outside world, and I'm sure that youwon't give up the opportunity to get your hands on the grand treasure,” with an eerie grimace onhis shadow-like face, Mathew articulated.
"You're right. But I have one important reason for coming here that you don't know of," Darrenresponded.
"I don't know of? I believe you're wrong. Actually, I know that sole important reason that you have.Thank you for trusting me, Darren," intoned Mathew while giving out a faint smile. The expressionthat he wore on his face was replaced by kindness, one that resembled the face of an older mantalking to a young boy.
His words were very well said. Darren was lost for words when Mathew got it right. In fact, theessential reason why Darren had come over was that he believed in Mathew.
After hearing Mathew's words, Darren felt a little better in his heart. The whole story might be morecomplicated than what Jesse Li had told him.
