"What is happening?” Darren blurted out. It seemed to him that the statue had ceased its intentionto kill him.

Suddenly, the shadow shouted with joy as it flew to Darren's side.

"Sir, what is happening? What is so great about the statue's stopping?” Puzzled, Darren askedanxiously.

"It appears as though you are destined to live longer. Although you had the bad luck to choose themost dangerous blade and sword cores, in the end, you are fortunate enough to escape thedanger," the shadow stated gaily.

"Why is that?" Darren pushed for an explanation as he looked at the wavering shadow.

"This pair of blade and sword cores is not an ordinary type that you have encountered so far. I daresay that the strength of the metal statue will wane soon," the shadow replied with a strangeconfidence.

Hearing that, Darren glanced at the metal statue. He could sense that the original incredible strongaura around the metal statue was now fading.

How was that even possible?

The shadow continued his explanation, "If you can peer through it, you can replace that the blade andsword cores that I transferred into its body is now full of cracks.”

"Sir, do you mean that the blade and sword cores are breaking down on their own?" Rejoiced bysudden hope, Darren cried out loud.

"It is not cracking. Like I just told you, this pair of blade and sword cores is not an ordinary one. I willexplain the history of this particular blade and sword cores. This pair was once owned by aninvincible master who could upgrade it to the extreme level. Before I transferred it into the metalstatue, the cores happened to be at the beginning of their upgrading process. Soon after they weretransmitted into the metal statue, the cores began their movements to become an extreme bladecore and sword core," the shadow explained. He seemed to be content and relieved.

"Upgrading to an extreme blade core and sword core? Doesn't that mean that the metal statue willbecome stronger and more difficult to deal with?" Darren asked worriedly. He had alreadywitnessed the strong otherworldly aura of the cores within the statue. He could not imagine whatwould become of the metal creature if the blade and sword cores provided it with even morestrength.

"You are mistaken.” The shadow sighed and continued, "The upgrading process is very complicated.Even if the master were alive, he would need to wait for several hundred years or even longer to seeit upgrade. As the master is dead, this pair of blade and sword cores has lost the support of amaster that could help it with the upgrading process. The metal statue cannot do that.

Without a master to help complete the upgrading process, the blade and sword cores are doomedto fracture. That being said, the power of the metal statue will only diminish rather than grow. I amnot sure how weak the statue will become. You can wait and watch!"

The shadow explained all this to Darren with vivid relief and joy on his face. He wished with all hisheart that every challenger would go through the test without being killed

Now, Darren understood what was happening to the metal statue. He gazed at the statue andwondered what would become of it in the end.

"Sir, what if I strike it now? Do you think that I can kill it?" As Darren studied the metal statue, theidea of grabbing this opportunity to win over it suddenly flashed through his mind.

"Silly you! Don't underestimate its power just yet! If you get any closer to the statue, the blade andsword cores inside will automatically release the blade and sword intents. Without a doubt, the blastwill tear you apart,” the shadow replied with a snort.

"Oh, I understand now," Darren answered shyly and lowered his head.

So, he waited. It took ten days for the weakening phenomenon of the statue's strength to finallystop.
