Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 568 There Are Many Ways To Kill You

"What?"

The Ancient Void Battlefield couldn't be used at all!

Why?

Because the Ancient Void Battlefield was in the body of the real Darren. Darren's avatar couldn'topen the small world. Darren's avatar shared the same mind with his real body, so naturally, hewanted to use the Ancient Void Battlefield on instinct. He forgot that he couldn't use it in the formof an avatar.

'Damn it!" he cursed, beginning to worry.

'The Ancient Void Battlefield won't come in handy this time. Meanwhile, the Dragon King's attackgrows more desperate as the battle goes on

How can I let that snail mutant kill my friend?" Darren thought to himself, worried and helpless.

At that moment, Scott had just transformed into a dragon and used the inheritance skill of theDragon Blood Clan.

The icy dragon's roar was deafening.

So were the impacts of his blows upon his opponent.

The Double-headed King quickly lost his confidence as he weathered the ferocious assault.Turning tail, he flew hastily toward the Snail King.

"Let me in!" he shouted. He had good reason to fear. Darren had already destroyed one of hisbodies, leaving him with just one, and now Scott was making short work of him.

If the Double-headed King were to lose yet again, there would be no chance of survival for him.Hearing his plea, the Snail King gave him a sly look. "Okay, come on in!"

Yet the moment his distressed ally neared the shell's entrance, the Snail King sealed himself inside. He blocked the entrance, and the Double-headed King ran into it with a bang.

Despite the force of the impact, the barrier was unscathed.

There was only one word the now-lone king had on his mind. "Shit!"

He could hardly believe that he was being humiliated by a damned snail, of all things.

Meanwhile, Scott was coming up right behind him, still in the form of a dragon.

He made no effort to hide the earth-shaking sound of his gait.

A pair of fierce claws flashed toward the Double-headed King.

Seeing a window of opportunity, Darren broke away from his own fight with the Dragon King, butonly just long enough to send a blast of his dark gold internal force at the Double-headed King. With that devastating energy coming in from one direction and Scott's attack from another, theDouble-headed King had no chance of escape.

"Argh!"

he screamed resentfully as the dragon's mandibles savaged him, raking his flesh too fast to see.Blood wept from all four of his eyes.

Finally Scott plunged one hand into the Double-headed King's torso, clutching onto his heart.

Even then the Double-headed King fought back, frenziedly tearing and ripping dragon scales fromhis foe's body.

But Scott kept on him until, with a final exertion, he crushed the heart to a pulp in his fist.

With a sigh of relief he pulled his arm out, stepped back, and watched as the Double-headed King'senormous body tottered before crashing to the ground. After that, he was still.

Seeing the duel's conclusion, Darren was quick to fly nearby, hoping to assimilate the talents of thenow-vanquished foe. Unfortunately, he found that he could not do this as an avatar.

Things weren't too bad, though. In fact, Darren and Scott were right back where they had been justdays earlier, facing off against a lone opponent together.

That one opponent, the Dragon King, was furious. For the moment, though, he was more furious atthe Snail King than at the two humans. Seeing what had become of the Double-headed King, henow regretted trusting this slimy, cunning double-crosser.

The Snail King knew what he was thinking, though, and stuck his head out into view, grinninghideously.

"Ha, you two idiots,” he jeered. "Did you really think I was so kind?

To hell with all of you! I might just kill another one of the human grand warriors to celebrate thisday.” As he said this, a menacing edge came into his voice, and he seemed just about to move. Before he could do so, however, Scott's tail lashed out and struck him a blow that left him seeingstars

No longer so smug, the Snail King vanished back into his shell.

"Well, I suppose I let success go to my head,” he muttered. "All right, I'll let them live for now.”Saying this, he tucked himself very securely inside the shell and didn't dare show his head again.Still, he was able to see what was going on outside.

"Black old dragon!” the snail mutant called, his voice echoing its way out of the shelter. "I've heardyou have a great deal of treasures stored up for yourself. I'll make sure to take good care of thatwealth after you die, so there's no need to worry.”

"Argh!" the Dragon King snarled, spitting blood.

He was too furious for words. There was no time for him to express his anger, however.

Without wasting a minute, Scott picked up Chad and the rest grand warriors in his mouth, then flewto join Darren.

The battle resumed, and soon the Dragon King knew that it was hopeless. He was too worn outeven to escape, let alone fight both of these enemies at once.

The sky shook for an hour as they fought.

Finally the titan's blood fell to the earth in a torrent, his body smashed to pieces.

Thus, the kings of two mutant races were humbled and brought to nothing because they hadtrusted in the cunning Snail King.

Moments later, Darren and Scott hurtled down through the air and landed at the same time.

"It's your turn now," Darren said, pointing his sword at the Snail King.

"Just the two of you?" came the sharp retort from the shell's interior.

"Come and get me, if you can! I'm not going anywhere.”

The Snail King was confident that he could not be harmed. As vicious as ever, he couldn't help butcontinue to goad his enemies.

"Come on," he snickered. "Don't let me get away!

Good-for-nothing whelps. Don't worry. I have investigated you both, and I know of your friends andrelatives. I will see them tortured to death.”

He noticed that Darren and Scott went still when they heard this. "Ah, how does that make you feel?Angry? Helpless? Hmm?"

Saying this, he let out an arrogant chuckle.

He was right about one thing: Darren had never been so angry.

The Snail King was weaker than him, but had still managed to kill his friend right in front of him.Even worse, the wretch was brazen enough to gloat about it and to threaten to kill more people, allwhile hiding inside his shell. Apparently, he also expected that Darren would just stand there, angrybut impotent. He couldn't be more wrong.

While the standoff went on, Darren stood still, a dull look in his eyes, as he mentally communicatedwith his real body.

“Hey, you should know what's going on here, ' the avatar said to the real Darren. 'It shouldn't be toohard for you to break through a snail's defense, should it?"

Seeing that Darren was silent, the Snail King decided to taunt him yet again. "Ha! Too afraid to evencurse me now? That's a surprise.

Even so, your friends will have to die!"

But Darren wasn't even looking at the Snail King. A cold voice echoed through his mind, and he waslistening to it.

“Catch him, and then replace a fragment of sword intent, * the voice said

Now Darren looked at his cowardly opponent, and his eyes shone with lethal intent.

Straightaway, the snail changed his tune. "All right. Well, I suppose it's no use talking to youanymore. I'll just be going now, then!”

Saying this, he hastily started sliding his shell away.

Darren was ready for him, though. Swift as ever, he flashed ahead of the shell and kicked backtoward his partner.

"Scott, catch it!"

Hearing this, Scott released Chad and the others, morphed back into his human form, and grabbedhold of the shell.

"What? You think you can hold onto me? What a joke!" the snail taunted.

Even as he said this, the shell began to vanish into the air.

Unable to outrun them, he was instead relying on a special rule power to escape through space. But then, without warning, three figures appeared around them, orbited by shining runes. They wereHorace and his two fellows

Earlier, when Darren's avatar was communicating with his real body, the real Darren had sent amessage to the three rule cultivators, asking them to come and help.

Waves of runes flashed from their hands, immediately blocking the space surrounding them.

The Snail King was shocked as his space escape skill failed to work.

"Ah, what's going on?! Where did somebody so powerful come from?"

Although Horace's space rule spell was not as potent as that of Finley, he was still unbeatable in theBottom Spiritual World. What was more, he had grown stronger and learned much in the past fewyears. With the help of the Shackle Runes of Rocky and Nick, he could render the Snail Kingcompletely helpless.

"Take him away." Darren gave the order coldly.

"Certainly," Horace replied with a nod.

Ultimately, Darren didn't regard the three as mere subordinates.

Nevertheless, they had created a master and slave bond with Darren, and so they respected himvery much.

Horace went on, "We're perfectly able to keep him imprisoned, Darren. However, actually breakingthrough his defense is another matter.”

"That doesn't matter,” replied Darren stonily. "There are many ways to kill him. He'll have a verymiserable death, I promise.”

Sure enough, the Snail King heard this and protested. "No, wait! Release me!

Let me go, and I'll take you to the treasures of the Dragon King and the Double-headed King. Please, I promise you this!"

But though he went on and on, his captors paid no attention to all his pleadings.

Darren turned to Scott. "Scott, I need you to help take care of Chad and his team. There's somethingI need to do. I'll be back in a few days."

His partner looked at the western sky with a trace of uneasiness in his eyes. "Go ahead," Scott saidat last. "We'll wait for you here."
