Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 684 Let Them Fight One Another

The terrifying lightning violently struck the short old man.

He then subsequently forced out his Life True Rule to repair his damaged body. However, the speedof the repairing process was no match against the speed at which his body was being destroyed. Both Darren and Hobson stood frozen in astonishment—they did not even dare think of comingclose to the thing. They highly suspected that once the blood red lightning touched them, theywould be doomed to die a horrific death in an instant.

The old man’s face was contorted in misery.

"Why are you punishing me? Why!" the old man dolefully cried out. "I have been managing theMythological Palace for a hundred thousand years. Is this what I get for my service? My child waskilled! Why can't I take revenge? Ignorant fool! You made the most foolish rules in history!"

The old man continued to roar at the dark emptiness behind the stone gate, letting out his rage andindignation at the cruel and unfair predicament that he was facing.

As the lord of the palace, he had treated everyone with a degree of courtesy that did not fall shorton being fair. But that being said, there were still others in the world who were ungrateful to hisdeference, vicious people. The old man found the fact that the first lord of the palace decided tomake a rule in which all the succeeding lords could not kill anyone to be extremely unreasonable.Another flash of blood red lightning appeared from the darkness, directly suppressing the old man'sspiritual soul. The old man’s entire body convulsed that even his Life True Rule was rendereduseless.

"Sirl"

Darren's heart ached for the old man. Even as a junior holy warrior, the old man had treated them asany kind elderly would. He should not be punished like this.

Be that as it may, Darren would be powerless faced against the frightening blood red lightning. Hecould not save the old man even if he wanted to.

A few moments later, a bloody character that read "sinner" in ancient writing came into sight andslammed into the old man’s body, bringing him down to the ground. He then started to disappear, presumably to be brought to a different space.

"I will be sentenced to eight thousand years of imprisonment for the two crimes I have committed. You must be careful, young men."

The trembling voice of the old man echoed before he completely vanished.

Only Darren and Hobson were left in the stone hall.

"What the hell are the dumb rules? Damn it!" Hobson's face was scrunched up into a spiteful scowl. He swung his spear violently against the wall to vent out his anger.

"The first lord has been dead ages ago. He had left those rules for this palace. We can't really blamethe rules because rules don't have a mind of their own. They just operate according to the way thefirst lord had set them. Our anger is completely useless in this situation,” Darren said as he calmeddown.

"He is being suppressed by the rules. We can't save him. Those three bastards outside will definitelycome back. What should we do now?" Hobson worriedly said.

Without the help of the old man, it would be too difficult for them to fight against the three martialartists who were in the Holy Realm.

"They won't dare to come in any time soon. We still have some time."

"The lord said that he would be put in prison for eight thousand years because he had committedtwo crimes. The bastards outside are not going to wait for eight thousand years,” Hobson lamentedand let out a dispirited sigh.

"Wait a minute!” Darren paused and thought for a moment then said, "The lord just helped us killthe dwarf. Why was he punished for breaking two rules? What was the second rule?"

His eyebrows were furrowed in confusion as he asked himself the question.

Hobson's face also fell into a frown as he tried to recall what second rule the old man broke.

"From what I remember, when you went to practice, he also left in a hurry. He entered that gate,”Hobson said, pointing at the stone gate of the site where the body of the holy emperor was beingkept.

Darren pondered over the information for a short while, brows still furrowed and lips pressedtogether in concentration. All of a sudden, his face changed and he then immediately walkedtowards the stone gate.

Standing in front of the stone gate, Darren released his Spirit Power in an attempt to break throughit.

Just like a greedy giant beast, it just kept absorbing Darren's Spirit Power for a long time before itthen finally opened.

"Just stay here and wait, Hobson. I'll go and have a look inside.” With these words, Darrendisappeared behind the stone gate.

"What's going on? Let me have a look too!" Hobson was about to follow after Darren, but the stonegate suddenly closed.

The sea of blood was still surging.

This time, there was no old man by his side. Darren stood on the shore as the aura of the blood seasuppressed him to the point that he almost could not breathe.

He had no doubt that if he took a step forward, he would burst into a bloody mist and die.

Darren narrowed his eyes and looked into the distance. A man was still tied up by countless chainsover the blood sea. Several figures with frightening auras were kneeling on the ground under thechained man.

"There were eight people kneeling before, but now there are only seven of them kneeling!" Darrencounterchecked to see if he had counted right and proved that his conjecture was indeed correct. The short old man really stole a senior holy warrior's body from this place!

This was certainly what the old man meant when he said that he would be punished for committingtwo crimes.

"The lord heard what I said about Finley, so he went to steal a holy body for me. He went here tosteal the body of a senior holy warrior. Once Finley gets the holy body, I don't have to be afraid ofthose people anymore!" Darren exclaimed, suddenly overcome with excitement.

However, the old man was now under suppression and Darren had no idea where to replace the holybody that he had taken away.

If he gave the body of the senior holy warrior to Finley, how powerful would his fighting ability be?Darren then dashed out and told Hobson what he had found out. They began the search for thebody of the senior holy warrior.

However, fortune was not on their side. After ten days of searching, they were no closer to replaceingthe body than they were on the first day of their search.

They had searched even the small space where the incomplete corpses were placed but to no avail."The holy body must have been hidden by the lord. And before he had the chance to give it to me,those bastards rushed over. Perhaps the holy body is inside his spatial treasure.”

Darren thought this was the only possible reason he and Hobson had not found it after searchingfor so long.

Hobson sighed. "If only we could save him."

"Actually, I think we have the chance to save him," Darren stated.

"What? Tell me!" Hobson was overjoyed.

"I found this while searching for the holy body." Darren took out an ancient scroll from his SpaceRing!

Hobson took the ancient scroll from him and glanced at the text.

It was the assessment rules and regulations for the lord of the palace.

It stated that once a new leader appeared, the previous leader would be able to leave theMythological Palace.

There was also some information about the previous leaders. Only a few of them had left theMythological Palace. Most of them had been suppressed to death because they had tried to breakfree from the road of the holy emperor's heart.

For hundreds of thousands of years, even longer, every leader of the palace had stayed at a placewhere there was no life. Even strong martial artists who were in the Holy Realm would not be ableto stand loneliness. Many of the lords grew desperate and decided to get out at the risk of theirlives.

At a certain point in those lords’ life, they felt that isolation and loneliness was a fate worse thanbeing punished to death. At the end of it all, they were still only humans who craved company asany human being did when isolated for so long. They could not do anything about it.

"As long as a new lord shows up, the former lord will be freed. The so-called sin will be lifted,”Darren remarked

As long as someone else took charge of the palace, the old man would stop being suppressed andhe could finally get out.

"So what you're saying is either one of us needs to take part in the assessment? Which of us shouldit be?" Hobson directed his gaze downwards and shook his head. The most basic requirement ofbecoming the lord of the palace was to get into the Holy Realm. He knew that it would beimpossible for him and Darren to reach the Holy Realm in just a short period of time.

"Humph. We can't take part in the examination, but we can let the three bastards outside to do it."A sly smile appeared on Darren's face.

"What do you mean?" Hobson asked, confused.

"Those three outside are extremely greedy. They're not aware of the disadvantages of becoming thelord of the Mythological Palace. If we get the information out to them, they will surely fight for thechance of becoming the lord,” Darren calmly explained.

"Yes, you're right! That's a clever idea!” Hobson jumped with joy. "I'll go talk to them right now.”"Wait." Darren sternly looked at Hobson and said, "Are you out of your mind? The master of theGolden Sacred Sect is very cunning. If you go straight to him and tell him about it, he must besuspicious. He might even kill you on the spot.”

"Then what should we do?"

"I have a plan. Maybe I can even let them fight one another.”

Darren confidently smirked. He already had the perfect and well thought out plan pictured inside hismind.
