Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 807 State Of Mind

Darren fixed his eyes forward. “Let's give it a shot and you will know."

He walked towards the clear river.

One, two...

Darren had already walked many steps but his feet were still dry. It was as if he was walking in place."It's not easy to cross the river,” said Fris, the village head.

"I've got it!" Finley suddenly became enlightened. "The river appears close to us but there areactually layers of space in between us. It's an illusion!"

Fris shook his head at Finley's statement.

"According to your understanding of Spatial Rule, it should only take a little time to reach the othershore. Do you really think it's that simple?

This river before us was the place for a powerful cultivator from a foreign land to have an “Epiphany.’It depends on your state of mind if you want to cross it. Even so, I'm not exactly sure what thatwould achieve," Fris explained.

Darren crossed his arms, deep in thought. He faced the village head.

"What do you mean by “Epiphany'?" Darren asked.

"A foreign man arrived here just before the Last Age disappeared. I remember that he was bald andhe was dressed in a coarse, yellow robe. He cultivated the skills related to the state of mind, which Ihave never seen before. I don't even understand the “Epiphany’ he was talking about.

He glowed with a golden light once he had the “Epiphany. In those moments, he was very calm andcomposed, but it also seemed like he could destroy the world if he wanted to.

It took a few days for him to speak again, and when he did, he said that he had to go off and fight afiend. He never came back."

Darren and Finley listened to him intently.

"I didn't expect the origin of the Equinox Tree leaves to be so complicated. How did the senior ofthe Mythological Palace even come up with this prescription?” Darren asked. The old man had neverbeen out of the Mythological Palace. He was not supposed to know these things. However, not onlydid he finish the prescription, he also knew that they were in the Raksa Sea

"I think we'd better ask him when we get back," Darren said before anyone could answer him.

"If we want to cross the river, we will need to use our minds to navigate it," Finley piped up.

"That's right. I believe that crossing this river will not only give you the leaves that you need, but itwill also take you to a mysterious path of becoming stronger.

All these years, I've sent seven people with the talent of Genuine Domain Degree here because Iwanted them to try if they could get the cultivation method. Unfortunately, they all failed. No onehas ever crossed the river.

The man from the foreign land said that only nine people would ever be allowed to attempt thisYou two have the last chance.

If you fail, the river will disappear forever." Fris shook his head grimly.

"Don't worry. One of us will be able to make it, for sure!" Finley laughed jovially.

"I hope so. Ha!

You have three days to accomplish this. If you fail, you have to leave. Now, I must go." Frisdisappeared after saying these words

Darren and Finley spent the next few hours trying to figure out what to do. They tried everythingthey could but nothing happened.

"Cultivating state of mind. What kind of approach can we take?" Darren murmured.

"The river seems close by but is actually very far away. And it's not caused by the Spatial Rule. Iguess if we want to cross the river, we need to calm down. As long as we're calm, we will be able towalk to the river," Finley said thoughtfully.

"What makes you think so?" Darren asked.

"The village head said that the man cultivated the skills related to the state of mind. If he cultivatedhis mind and followed his heart, how could he be caught up with complicated thoughts? Just likewhen we tried comprehending the rules, we must cultivate in meditation and launch all our soulenergy into it." It made sense to the both of them.

"Alright. Let's try."

Darren nodded and sat down by the river, crossing his legs.

Darren began to contemplate, calming himself. He tried to feel peaceful.

Six hours had already passed and Darren found that he could not calm himself down.

Every time he felt that he could finally be at peace, three beautiful faces would flash in his mind.Elsa. Denise. The immortal.

Darren tried his hardest to clear his mind but he kept thinking about Elsa.

The voice in his head kept questioning him. "Who are you? Where are you from? What about yourparents?"

He couldn't help it.

The more he wanted to calm down, the more restless he became. He thought of all the possibleworst case scenarios and it annoyed him greatly.

Darren sighed. He opened his eyes.

"This used to be so easy for me. Perhaps the river is causing my restlessness," he said to himself.Suddenly, a gust of wind blew in.

It gently caressed his face.

"What's happening?”

He glanced over at Finley and was surprised to see him floating cross-legged a few feet above theground.

"Oh! He did it!" Darren was overjoyed.

Moments later, Finley opened his eyes and stood up. He was surrounded by a soft glow. He slowlywalked towards the river.

One... Two...

Finley took step after step until he found himself on the river.

"Wow!" Darren couldn't help but shout. Finley had made it!

Finley was silent. His black hair flew wildly in the wind. He suddenly seemed very hostile, just likewhen his fiend nature was mobilized by the monkey.

Darren's heart skipped a beat.

“Finley fears his real body from the bottom of his heart. This river may be influencing his feelings, and may make him fail."

Darren realized that things would go wrong. If it were him who was crossing the river, he would notbe swayed by such emotions. He had successfully woken up from the illusion created by themonkey the last time. Unfortunately, he could not even calm himself down.

Darren held his breath and prayed that Finley would pull through.

He saw a faint smile on Finley's face. Finley began to move across the river. He would kneel andcrawl at times but he did his best to make it through.

Boom!

The ground began to shake.

Finley opened his eyes.

"Ha! No matter how much you taunt me or try to frighten me, 1 won't let you mess with my head.I've come too far now."

Finley looked calm and composed.

When he made it to the other side, he approached the tall tree. He sat under it and sat in silenceonce again.

Seeing this, Darren was thrilled.

"He made it! Perhaps he is no longer afraid of his real body." Darren smiled.
