Darren looked at the dumbfounded monkey and thought the latter was pitiful.

"Try to hold on for some time. I will replace an opportunity to save you as soon as possible,” Darrentold the monkey.

"I can hold on for at most three months,” the monkey stated. The temperature of the fire was sohigh that even the monkey couldn't survive for a long time.

"Okay. I will see what I can do." Darren nodded and turned, intending to leave.

"Wait!" The monkey's pitiful voice forced Darren to stop.

"I'm a mutated hair of Barnes the Holy.” The monkey revealed his true identity.

At this moment, he felt sour in his heart, and scenes of his struggle to survive filled his mind.

"A hair?" Darren nearly shouted.

'A hair of Barnes the Holy is so powerful?’ Darren wondered as he stared at the monkey in disbelief.No matter how much he tried to rationalize, Darren just couldn't believe what he had just heard."This is odd. Why do I feel better after telling you the truth?" Although he had earlier felt a pang ofsorrow, the monkey was now thrilled. He continued to say, "I want to tell you everything about me.Would you like to hear my story?"

"Of course, I do." Darren nodded.

The monkey closed his eyes as he tried to figure out where to start.

"Let's start from the day that I was born.

A long time ago, Barnes the Holy, and the Inner Fiend fought each other over control of the GoldenIndestructible Body. During this fierce battle, they almost tore apart their souls.

One day, the Inner Fiend succeeded in gaining control of the Golden Indestructible Body afterdriving Barnes the Holy out of it."

"Wait a moment!" Darren's heart skipped a beat, and he couldn't help but interrupt the monkey."What's wrong?" The monkey looked at Darren with confusion.

"Are you sure that it was the Inner Fiend that expelled Barnes the Holy from the GoldenIndestructible Body? I heard that Barnes the Holy removed the Inner Fiend from his body. I haveseen the Inner Fiend, so that must be true!” Darren said anxiously.

"What did the Inner Fiend you saw look like?" The monkey's expression was calm as if he was notworried about what Darren had just said.

"His body was covered in black hair, and he acted like a crazy monkey..." Darren described all thecharacteristics of the Inner Fiend to the monkey.

"All right. I am sure that he is Barnes the Holy," the monkey said with confidence. The monkey wasso calm that Darren felt disturbed.

"No way! How could he be Barnes the Holy? His fiendish nature was so extreme that I am notexaggerating when I describe him as a peerless fiend. How could he be Barnes the Holy? It isimpossible!" Darren burst out.

"Who told you that Barnes the Holy did not have a fiendish nature? Who told you that only theInner Fiend had a considerable fiendish nature? All these presumptions are based on yourunderstanding, aren't they?" The monkey asked Darren these questions slowly but firmly.

Darren was dumbfounded.

The monkey's questions sounded a bit odd. But, when he thought about them carefully, Darren feltthat they were quite reasonable.

"After Barnes the Holy was expelled, he became so cruel that he tried every means to get his bodyback.

Unfortunately, the Inner Fiend was really powerful. Besides, once a soul controlled the GoldenIndestructible Body, it would become the new master of the body and could not be expelled easily.Unless he created another Inner Fiend, the expelled soul wouldn't be able to resume control of theGolden Indestructible Body again.

From then on, the Inner Fiend became the so-called Barnes the Holy, while Barnes the Holy becamethe Inner Fiend,"

the monkey explained. Then, after a short pause, he continued to say, "As for me, I was born duringthe last battle between Barnes the Holy and the Inner Fiend. In that fight, Barnes the Holy washateful and considered his death as a way to eliminate the Inner Fiend. The battle was so fierce thatthe sky shattered.

As both were severely injured, Barnes the Holy used his last unique skill to pull a hundred hair out ofhis body. He infused each with his soul essence and evolved a hundred powerful creatures to attackthe Inner Fiend.

The Inner Fiend had been gravely injured before this new attack. As he was now besieged by ahundred creatures that evolved from Barnes the Holy's hair, he weakened to the point where hisdestruction was inevitable.

At that time, however, the Inner Fiend thought of a way to break free. He used all his strength toattack one of the creatures. After suppressing that creature, he tore apart a strand of his soul andinfused it into the body of the creature.

In an instant, he had made a helper that was stronger than the rest of the creatures. There's nodoubt that I was the creature whose soul fused with the Inner Fiend's."

The monkey finally finished telling Darren the whole story.

Darren now understood the monkey's origins.

"What happened in the end?" Darren couldn't help but ask.

"At last, with my help, the Inner Fiend repelled Barnes the Holy, and ran to the spiritual spring fourhundred thousand kilometers underground where he healed his wounds.

Do you know what was the first thing he planned to do after he recovered?" the monkey asked.Darren thought for a while and then blurted out, "Did he want to kill you?"

The monkey's eyes flashed with surprise, and he said, "You're very smart. Indeed, his first thoughtwas to kill me. But, I already knew that he would attack, and I prepared for it. I escaped death withgreat difficulty.

The monkey became very excited as he thought about this.

"Oh, man! Your life has been so hard,” Darren sighed. He could imagine what the monkey hadendured. A life of hiding, suffering, and being fearful all day long was real torture.

"So, why are you looking for the Inner Fiend now?" Darren asked out of curiosity.

"As I have told you everything, I am not afraid that you will laugh at me if I share my reason withyou. All this while, I have lived in fear of what would happen when he returns. I will have no choicebut to die. So, I want to beg him to let me go and not kill me. If he agrees, I will replace a space and livea peaceful life,” the monkey replied.

Darren's heart ached when he heard the reason why the monkey was in search of the Inner Fiend."Do you think he will let you go?" Darren asked with a bitter smile.

"What do you think?" The monkey's eyes reflected the confusion he felt. He longed for an answer,and hopefully, a positive one.

"Of course, not." Darren answered firmly.

"Ha-ha, I knew it, and I understand. He won't let me go,” the monkey said as he laughed in despair."I don't understand. Why should you beg him for a glimmer of a chance to live? Since he won'tallow you to live, why not kill him instead?" Darren said with a cold expression.

"You are too naive. The Inner Fiend's power is unimaginable. No one in the world can kill him." Themonkey thought Darren was daydreaming.

"What about Barnes the Holy? If Barnes the Holy regains his power, won't he be able to kill the InnerFiend?"

Darren's words helped the monkey see a new possibility.

"Now, I know where Barnes the Holy is. If I can rescue him, I believe he will replace a way to replace theInner Fiend and kill him. Am I right?"

Darren realized that the monkey he saw in the Devil Den was not the Inner Fiend, but Barnes theHoly!

"What you suggest makes sense. But how will we break the suppression power on Barnes the Holy?It will be no less challenging than killing the Inner Fiend. Besides, I'm afraid that when Barnes theHoly regains his strength, he will want to kill me, as well."
