Talented Martial Hero
Chapter 823 Asking You To Help Me

"Think of it this way. Barnes the Holy had the chance to kill the Inner Fiend at that time. But becauseof my mutation, he failed. His hatred for me is even stronger than the Inner Fiend's. He absolutelywants to kill me," the monkey said. He smiled bitterly.

Darren pondered on this for a while before realizing that the monkey was correct.

Barnes the Holy had turned into a madman. With his fiendish nature unchecked, Barnes would notlet the mutated monkey go.

"We'll figure it out after I get you out,” Darren reassured.

The monkey closed his eyes and nodded in silence.

Darren then went to Augustine's place.

"Come here, Darren, let's have some drink together.” Augustine had the alcohol prepared already ashe waited for Darren.

Unable to resist the temptation of delicious alcohol, Darren drank several bowls in a row.

"Darren, I have to show you something funny after this,” Augustine said mysteriously.

A graceful figure suddenly sprung out, grabbing Augustine's ear.

"Brother, you're going to that place again? If you dare go there, I will tell Aunt Caroline,” Naomi saidangrily.

"Ouch! Stop pinching my ear, my sister. I'll be with Darren, and he's strong. There's nothing to beafraid of." Augustine cried out in pain, struggling to slip out of his sister's grasp.

"No. Aunt Caroline has already warned us not to mess with anyone there. We don't want to get introuble, so no one is allowed to go there," she insisted.

"All right, all right. I won't go.” Augustine shrugged her off.

Naomi was seemingly appeased by this. "Good."

Darren shook his head and picked up another bow! of alcohol. "Come on, let's stop arguing anddrink instead.”

Feeling quite down, Augustine drank ten bowls in a row.

Naomi noticed this immediately. "Well, it seems that you are not convinced. I'll tell Aunt Carolineright away."

"Please don't, Naomi. You're totally right. I promise I won't go," Augustine pleaded.

"You better keep your promise then,” Naomi replied.

Hot air suddenly came blowing inside the cottage. It brought with it a fiery red figure who turnedout to be Caroline.

"What are you two arguing about? Naomi, stop bullying your brother,” she said.

"It's not my fault, Aunt. I was just stopping him from going to the Shura Abyss,” Naomi protested.Unknowingly, she had blurted out Augustine's previous plans.

Darren was silent all this time, but he couldn't help but perk up at the mention of "Shura Abyss.” Hewas suddenly curious.

"You are not allowed to go there,” Caroline reminded Augustine. She then turned to Darren. "ButDarren, on the other hand, can.”

"What? Why?"

Darren was surprised. He didn't expect her to ask him to go there.

"What? Why?" Even Naomi echoed back Darren's confusion.

"No reason," Caroline replied. Then, she turned serious. "Naomi and Augustine, please leave us for amoment. I have something private to discuss with Darren.”

The two siblings left them alone.

"Aunt Caroline, what's Shura Abyss? Why should I go there?" Darren asked, baffled.

"Please do me a favor and accompany me to the Shura Abyss,” Caroline replied.

"Just tell me what I can do to help. And I will try my best to not let you down," Darren said, sincerely."I need your cooperation in killing a senior holy warrior from the ancient times.”

Crack.

Darren's head buzzed as if it was filled with thunder.

“Does she honestly think she and I can kill a senior holy warrior from the ancient times?" Darrenthought to himself. He shuddered. The Fire Phoenix really scared him.

"Aunt Caroline... This is..." He didn't know what to say.

"Will you help me or not?" Caroline asked.

"I don't think I'm powerful enough to kill a senior holy warrior,” Darren admitted honestly.

At this point, he couldn't even defeat an ordinary senior holy warrior. It would be a joke if anyonecould even think he could defeat one from the ancient times. He absolutely believed he couldn'tanyway.

But that didn't stop him from being curious. Why was a senior holy warrior from the ancient timesbe in the Shura Abyss? The old turtle man said that those warriors were all hidden in the River ofForgetfulness—not in the Shura Abyss.

"You don't need to worry about fighting the ancient senior holy warrior. I just need your dragonblood aura.

But before that, I need you to learn cooperative combat skill. Once we successfully join ourstrengths together, I will be as strong as the ancient senior holy warrior,” Caroline explained, exuding confidence as she said this.

Darren still hesitated.

"Aunt Caroline, is the ancient senior holy warrior in the Shura Abyss? Why do you want to kill him?"he asked, puzzled.

"Ever since the ancient senior holy warrior showed up thirty thousand years ago, he has been doingeverything he can to kill me and obtain my phoenix elixir. So I have to replace a way to kill him first,”Caroline answered.

"But if he can't kill you now, why bother killing him?" Darren was still confused.

"He is much stronger than I am, but he is currently trapped in the Shura Abyss. He can't attack mefrom there. But it won't take long for him to escape and hunt me down. It's good fortune that I metyou who has the Genuine Dragon bloodline.

If we work on our Dragon-Phoenix Cooperative Skill, we can kill him and end this once and for all.”"I'm starting to understand what you mean. But what if I refuse? Will you..." Darren tried to ask whatshe planned to do to him if it would come to that. But the words burned on his tongue.

"You have every right to refuse and I won't kill you for it. After all, killing you won't make me anydifferent from that monkey." Caroline's calm reply made Darren like her more.

"Since you put it that way, I shall agree to help you," he announced.

"What should I do now?" He could not help but laugh in relief.

Caroline released her Spirit Power, and soon, Darren's mind received information on the cooperativeskill.

"Please make sure that you perfect this skill in three years. Thank you." With that, Caroline left.Darren reviewed the skill carefully.

There were a total of 108, 000 cooperative moves where each one required perfect connection. Ifthe connection fails at any way, both cooperative warriors would have to suffer the side effects."Huh, this martial arts skill is really overbearing, * Darren mused.

It would be difficult for him to master 108, 000 moves in just three years.

But with his Genuine Domain Degree talent and his comprehension abilities, the task was notimpossible.

In the following days, Darren tucked himself away in a secluded place to focus on his training. When one day, he suddenly realized something.

"Oh, my God! I almost forget about the monkey!" he exclaimed.

If he had gone any deeper in his meditation, it would take him three years to get out of it. Themonkey would have been roasted dry by then. Darren hit himself in the head.

"I must save him first."

Darren quickly headed back to the cottage.

"Aunt Caroline, I have something to tell you," Darren called out respectfully. The beautiful fiery redfigure appeared.

"Are you having trouble understanding the skill?" Caroline asked.

"No, everything's going smoothly as planned. I was just hoping to ask a favor.”

Caroline nodded her head sagely. "Very well. What is it then?"

"I want you to release the monkey.”

"What?" Caroline's expression morphed so suddenly at Darren's request.

"You said that he is your enemy and yet you're asking me to release him. Were you lying to mebefore?"

"No, no, no! Please don't get me wrong, Aunt Caroline. I wasn't deceiving you when I said that hewas my enemy. But I had talked to the monkey after and found him pitiful. He was only searchingfor the Inner Fiend of Barnes the Holy. He meant no harm this time. So please, have mercy on him,”Darren explained.

Caroline was adamant. "The monkey can be devious and cunning. Don't let him trick you."

"He wasn't trying to trick me. I'm sure of it,” Darren said confidently.

"Fine. Since you have agreed to help me, I shall grant you this favor in return. However, this is thethird time that I have forgiven the monkey. If he dares break into my island again, I will spare him nomercy then."

"Thank you, Aunt Caroline. I will let him know." Darren cupped his hands together in gratitude.

"Go replace Naomi. She can unlock the lock."

"Okay, I am going now. Thank you very much."

Wasting no time, Darren flew to Naomi's residence.
