Five days later, the black-armored man found an opportunity to sneak away from the MistyEmperor. He appeared at the cave where Darren was imprisoned.

"Darren, where are the others?"

The black-armored man was surprised to replace that the others had disappeared.

"I beat them to a near-death state and put them in my Space Ring."

"What? I" The black-armored man was shocked.

"They are not dead. There is still a chance to save them," Darren explained with a shrug.

The black-armored man was speechless. And so, he nodded and said, "So that's how it is. I agreethat this is the only way to protect them. Now, are we ready to escape?”

"That's the plan.” Darren nodded.

"Great! I've been waiting for this day, for a long time! Finally, I will be free!" The black-armored manwas so excited that his voice began to tremble.

Darren didn't know what to say. He knew that his lie would eventually be discovered. Until then, itwas perhaps best not to tell the black-armored man.

"Have you already planned the escape route?" Darren asked when the silence began to gnaw athim.

"Yes! When we escape from the Space-time Palace, you'll help me to cut off the Soul Control Skill,okay?" The black-armored man smiled as he patted Darren's shoulder.

Aware that he couldn't do what the black-armored man had requested, Darren just nodded silently."Let's go!" The black-armored man's eyes sparkled with the excitement coursing through him

As he had mastered a way to open the prison cave, he safely took Darren outside

Haloes of varied, dazzling light illuminated the sky. Darren was awe-struck with the beautiful scene."This place is full of time traps. Once you fall in, you will never get out. Follow me closely,” theblack-armored man warned Darren.

"l understand.”

When they flew past some colorful vortexes, Darren could feel the traces of time.

As they continued their journey forward, they met no obstacles, not even a guard.

After a while, a huge black vortex appeared before them.

"Once we fly into the vortex, we will have escaped the Space-time Palace.”

The black-armored man stopped and gaped at the black vortex. Hope blossomed in his heart as thethrill of freedom coursed through him.

Unable to contain his excitement, the black-armored man headed for the vortex at his fastest speed."Why are you standing still? Hurry up! We will die if he replaces out.” The black-armored man urgedDarren, who was staring blankly at the vortex.

"Uh." Darren nodded as he followed the black-armored man.

"I'm finally free!" Exhilaration was written all over his face as the man in the black armor rushedtoward the black vortex.

Bang!

Several runes suddenly flew out from the black vortex and collided with the black-armored man."What?" The man in the black armor was shocked. "The passageway has been sealed!"

Darren's heart sank. All this while, he had been morose about hiding the truth from the black-armored man. However, he had been secretly hoping that their escape plan was foolproof."Someone is trying to escape through the passageway. Hurry up! We need to investigate.”

A group of blue-skinned men patrolling in the near distance rushed toward the vortex when theyfelt that something was wrong.

“Run!”

the black-armored man screeched at Darren before he turned and flew off.

"What should we do now?" Darren exclaimed at the retreating figure.

"Hide! We must hide!" The black-armored man whimpered. "Darren, help me cut off the SoulControl Skill. If the Misty Emperor replaces out that I was trying to escape, I will be damned.”

If the Lord of the Space-time Palace learned that someone had entered the passageway, his firstinstinct would be to check on Darren. Upon replaceing that Darren had absconded, he would know thatthe black-armored man was responsible.

"What?" Darren hemmed and hawed, unable to speak.

"What's wrong? Bro, I risked my life for you. Please, help me this time," the black-armored manpleaded.

"Buddy, I can't lie to you anymore. I'm sorry, but I don't have that ability.”

Darren's gaze fell to the ground as he admitted to his deceit. As he could not bear it anymore, hedecided to tell the truth.

Buzz.

The black-armored man trembled when he processed Darren's confession. A moment later, he feltas though the sky and the earth were spinning.

"You, you lied to me..."

the black-armored man murmured as he turned to face Darren.

"Ha-ha-ha."

The next moment, he burst into tears. Between the laughing and the crying, the black-armored manlooked like a maniac.

"I'm such an idiot. I'm cheated again. Now, I'm going to die because I trusted a liar again in mysecond life. Ha-ha-ha."

He half-knelt in the air, and resentment poured out of his body. It was so thick that it would notdissolve.

"Howl!"

Although berserk with rage, the black-armored man didn't attack Darren.

"Quiet!" Darren whispered as he glanced around. "This is all my fault. I lied to you because I didn'tknow you and believed that you wanted to kill me. And so, I used you.

Later, after I learned of your experience, I didn't want to lie to you. But the situation forced me to doso. I hope you will understand and forgive me.

Please, there is still a chance for you to survive as long as you do as I say,”

Darren explained in one breath.

"A chance? Nonsense! Are you afraid that I will kill you before I die? Is that why you are still lying tome? How do I know if you're telling the truth now?" the black-armored man roared.

"Stop. Please! If you keep roaring like a madman, they will replace us and kill us. Now, do as I say. Whenthey catch us, tell them that I escaped and you were chasing me. Whether or not the lie will fool himdepends on your convincing skills!" Darren said quickly.

"We found them! Kill him!"

Several blue-skinned men surrounded Darren and the black-armored man.

Among them were many powerful masters.

"Why are you still standing there? Attack me now!" Darren urged the black-armored man.

The black-armored man was stunned for a moment. Then, the aura around his body exploded."Flee to the north. To the forbidden domain,” the black-armored man whispered before he releaseda powerful blow.

Boom!

A tremendous force dashed toward Darren.

"Seize him! What a cunning human!" The black-armored man's voice was cold as he instructed theapproaching blue-skinned men. His roar was so terrifying that everyone trembled.

"Yes, sir!"

Hearing the howl, the blue-skinned men charged toward the north.

The black-armored man was rooted to the spot. He gathered his strength and pounded on hishelmet. A moment later, blood flowed from a gash on his forehead.

Before he could prepare further, a handsome figure appeared before the black-armored man."What happened?" The handsome man's voice was full of killing intent as he questioned.

"Master, he escaped.” The black-armored man bowed his head as he hovered in the air.

"How dare you betray me?"

the Misty Emperor shouted before he lashed out at the black-armored man. The mighty attack hithim straight in the chest.

"I wouldn't dare to betray you, master.” The black-armored man's heart spasmed as tremendousagony coursed through him. However, he still forced himself to kneel before the Misty Emperor.

At this moment, he felt inferior, but to live and to take his revenge, he knew he had to bear it.

"You wouldn't dare? If you hadn't betrayed me, how could he have escaped? Answer me!" Runesburst forth and hovered threateningly above the black-armored man as the Misty Emperor shouted."One of those five captives had a magic soul weapon. The weapon injured me and allowed them toescape,”

the black-armored man lowered his gaze as he explained.

The Misty Emperor had dominated his soul. He released his spiritual sense to probe the man’s soul.He discovered that there was no lie in the black-armored man's soul waves.

"Humph! Come with me and redeem yourself!"

Hearing this, the black-armored man knew that he had once again survived.

"Yes, master.” The black-armored man struggled to stand straight. Then, with trembling feet, hetook a step forward.

Bang!

The Misty Emperor kicked him.

"You piece of junk! Get out!" He was furious when he saw that the black-armored man was unableto stand.

Whoosh!

The Misty Emperor transformed into colorful runes and flew in the direction Darren had taken.
