The Alpha & Beta's Regret
The Alpha & Beta’s Regret – Chapter 108

Addison POV

She smiled as she looked at the boys sleeping in bed with Luci, all four of them in the same bed. She had woken up to Rafe’s voice inside her mind. ‘Addi, they are not our Mates. Both Jack and I have issued our rejections. There was no pain at all. No filigree adorns our necks.’

‘Marking Scars?’ she enquired.

‘No. Nothing at all…seems we’ve broken the spell finally. It was witchcraft. Melissa stated her pack houses a witch.’

Addi sighed heavily and looked at her sleeping daughter ‘What now?’

‘Answers first, so that we can tell Luci everything.’

‘When will that be?’

‘A day or two, I want the pack to see those two out there for who they really are. Out there on the shaming post, which is now where they are. They tried to leave about 3am. Were contained. I’ve already stated we’re not mates in front of my Unit and all Elite Warriors that are not on patrol or protection duty for Luci.’

‘Good.’ She’d sighed, finally things were going to start coming right.

‘I fear Jack may come for Luci, before she can understand.’

‘Hmm,’ she thought about that. She had wanted to tell them about Sirens getting a true bond. Technically, only Sirens and their Mate’s knew about that. It was up to the Siren if their chosen Mate was not a Siren to tell them. Luci now understood the truth, as did Alari.

Smiled just a little to herself as she lay there, she’d gotten the shock of her life when she’d scented out Lucian. It hadn’t been a full moon, had been not long after sunup even. No moon out for them to see. Perhaps Rafe and Jack should have that moment. She certainly wanted Luci to have it.

‘It is what it is,’ Addi murmured after thinking about it. She knew he was waiting for her response. She reached out and brushed a hand through her daughter’s hair ‘Don’t worry too much Rafe, my daughter is strong. Can handle your Beta if he comes.’

‘Alari is my concern.’ Rafe sighed a little on the heavy side now ‘We have no connection to her. I fear Jacks need to claim Luci might set Alari off.’

‘I guess then, Rafe, that is something both you and Jack will have to replace out on your own. Not even I know how my Siren daughter feels about you two. Doesn’t ever mention you.’

‘I’ll try to contain him, for now.’

‘Do what you think is right.’ She stated simply ‘Is Alpha Terence or West up yet?’

‘Not yet, why?’

‘I have need of an escort somewhere. Hannah suggested them to me.’

‘Come to the packhouse when you’re ready. Breakfast is at 6 this morning.’

‘Alright.’ She nodded ‘Luci and the boys are sleeping in for the first time, it seems.’

‘That is good to hear, settling in just a little.’

Addi slipped from the bed and found Alari’s eyes on her, smiled gently at her. “Sleep my daughter, I’m going out of the pack for a few days. When I come back, you and I will have much to talk about.” She was going on her own to the Lake. Luci needed to be here right now.

She watched as Alari just closed her eyes once more, smiled as she went off to change for the day. Alpha Sirens always knew when their sleep pile was disturbed, she was so like her father.

Today Addi was hoping that she’d replace and feel that long-ago connection to Lucian’s pack, her pack. She had already checked on the lake on her phone, in the human world. It had many beautiful pictures for her to see. She had read up on what the humans thought about her lake even. It was not such an easy place to get to, only the most hard-core humans willing to really rough it went there. It was still pristine in nature.

She headed off to the packhouse herself, saw both Melissa and Maria out there, naked on the shaming posts for all to see. Walked right over to them, they would know who she was. Looked from one to the other and felt Fallon snarl inside her mind, could smell the rogue status and smiled to herself for it.

Then just stalked over to Melissa, who looked right at her, not something allowed for one on a shaming post, eye contact was a no-no. “Luna Addison.” She stated as though greeting her, Luna to Luna.

“Alpha Addison.” She corrected the she-wolf and then just punched her at full wolfen strength “For my daughter,” she stated as the woman screamed in pain. Addison heard bones cracking, hunkered down in front of her. Took a breath in and then made that she-wolf look right at her. Allowed not only her Alpha Aura to be felt but allowed that part of her she’d always kept hidden from all but would deny it no longer. Her witch bloodline to show, allowed all the power she contained from it to flow out of her, knew her eyes were glowing, could feel the heat of it.

“Witches don’t like it when others meddle with their children. My father, Luci’s grandfather…Is Hendrick, King Sebastian’s Warlock.”

She watched with satisfaction as that she-wolf’s eyes widened, and smelt fear roll off of her. Not once had Addison ever used her father’s name. She did not cling to the man himself. Never would. But who he was, not that he knew about her or cared either, did not matter. Who he had been would be enough to put fear into anyone and just saying his name out loud was enough. She got the desired reaction.

She stood up and turned to Maria, saw that she-wolf, kneel and bow her head. “Oh, it’s too late for that.” Addison commented and walked over to her, yanked her to her feet by her hair, heard her gasp in pain, ignored it “How do you live with yourself? Knowing you ruined so many lives.”

“It was all her father’s doing, we didn’t want to.” She blurted out.

“But you did, didn’t you!” Addison muttered. “For many years now. So you are fully to blame.” Let her have it just like her so-called sister, but Addi had heard the words her father’s doing. Not sisters even, it seemed.

Punched that she-wolf right in the side, connecting with her lowest ribs, heard them c***k as well, stepped back and looked at them both. “I’m not the one to end your lives.” Smiled mirthlessly at them now “My daughter, however. Will be deadly when she learns the truth and comes for you.” she turned and walked away. Luci, when she found out, was going to be more than upset, as was Kali going to be. This, her other two sides, being so upset, was going to set Alari off and that daughter of hers would be taking no prisoners at all.

Was likely to stalk her way over here and Siren Call those two, to the death. She had stated twice now she would explode a brain inside a head, and Addison got the distinct impression she was itching to do it. These two out here, would likely end up dead in a bloodied mess of exploded brain matter.

Addison was not going to stop her. She also didn’t think that Rafe or Jack would stop her either. Not that she thought they could, but she doubted they would intervene, those two would likely want to see those two she-wolves dead for what had been done to them.

Even knew why they were still alive, only out there to be shamed for all to see that these two were traitors to the pack, no longer the Luna and Beta’s Mates. Answers were yet to be gotten, but once they had those it was likely their heads would be coming off. Thought about that as she walked into the packhouse.

She could see Jack sitting in the Alpha’s office, walked over and knocked on the door. He looked up at her and smiled a little “You don’t need to know Addison, not ever are Luci’s mother and…”

She smiled at him as he trailed off. “I’m not your mother-in-law yet.”

Heard him chuckle softly now, “In my mind you are. What can I do for you, mother?” he asked.

She shook her head. “Don’t go killing those two, as much as you want to. Let Alari do it, she’ll display all her power when she does.”

“Alright.” He nodded.

“Jack, I know you have concerns about me taking Luci to Lucian’s lake. I’ll be going today, on my own. I’ll stay two or three days, when I come back…I may want to take Alari there still.”

She watched him sigh heavily “I still don’t think it’s wise.”

“I understand your concern, but things here are changing. I will wait for that to happen before taking her there. Does that help you?”

Saw him think about it. “Maybe.”

“Perhaps Hannah and her sisters can blip us out there?”

“Alright, if they agree to it, I’m okay with that. But I would want them to stay the whole time as well. To protect you and Luci.”

Addison smiled, “That will be fine.” Turned to leave the office, “Oh, I put the fear of the kingdom into those two out there, you might have more luck getting answers from them now.”

“What?” he frowned at her.

“My father’s bloodline scares all.” She stated and walked away, smiling a little to herself, cryptic like his own witch’s.

She found Alpha Terence in the dining room with Alpha West, his Luna Jo-anne, Alpha Rafe and his unit, all sitting at a table together, smiled at them. “Please join us, Alpha Addison,” Rafe stated.

She did, after getting food, smiled right at everyone, before turning to Alpha Terence himself “Alpha, may I request something of you?”

He looked at her questioningly “You can only ask.” He nodded.

“I need a ride out to the glacial mountains in Montana.”

Watched as he leaned right back in his chair and smiled now “That’s a long way. What may I ask is out there?”

“My Lake, I’d like to go visit my home. You can just drop me off, no need to wait. Fallon and I can make our way back.”

“Addi, I don’t think that is wise.” Rafe frowned at her now “Victor could have men looking for you anywhere.”

“He doesn’t know about my Lake.” No one did. She knew that.

“But he’s likely got men watching all roads into the pack.”

“I can take her.” Terence stated “I’ll drop her off and go pick her up when she’s ready.”

She saw Jo-anne shake her head and then mutter “You’re bloody obsessed with flying that thing.”

Addison smiled, “It’s in his b***d, I’d say.”

“What?” Jo-anne frowned at her.

“Ah, you’d not noticed, I see. All the royal family’s wolves are named after birds. I’d bet his wolf is too.”

“Lark.” Terence nodded “And we all are bar one.” His eyes moved to Jo-anne herself.

“Hmm, her other bloodline is stronger, that is all. Likely got herself a wolf that has a name connected to her mother earth.”

She saw Jo-anne blink more than surprised “Yes, Clova.” She nodded.

“Pretty.” Addison smiled at her and returned to eating her breakfast. “Terence would you kindly drop me off today and say come back in three days to get me.”

“I can do that, we can leave right after breakfast.”
