The Alpha & Beta's Regret -
The Alpha & Beta’s Regret – Chapter 30
Addison POV
She saw Orien on the packhouse stairs and frowned right at him, watched him realise Luci looked very different, taller than before and not by a little, but a lot, grew a full five inches. Even her hair was much lighter, she had the colouring of her father Lucian now. Luci had walked quietly the whole way through the pack, her daughter was normally not afraid of showing her attitude at all.
It seemed to Addi, that she was nervous about what was going to happen, and any she-wolf would be, she guessed. Having her Alpha and Beta’s children and not raising them officially inside the pack, or with their knowledge either.
Addi knew that Rafe and Jack were shocked by the twins, but they were not at all upset by them. She also knew they understood it was them that had caused Luci to raise them outside of the pack. That they had caused this to happen and were not going to blame her daughter, were generally an Alpha and Beta that were fair and considerate.
If they tried to blame Luci for any of this, she and Fallon were going to have a piece of them, likely she would be strong enough as well. To take them down, their two Mate’s had been denying their true nature for far too long, and it had weakened them. She was Alpha blooded and had not only witch’s b***d flowing in her veins, from her birth father, but Siren venom flowing in her veins as well. She was a lot stronger with it, may not have the powers of a Siren, but some of their temperament and strength.
Even just standing here next to Luci, made her feel more connected to that Siren venom inside of her, felt stronger just walking with her Siren daughter by her side. Looked right at her and realised she should have been her Alpha now. If nothing had happened to Lucian and they still lived at his lake, she would be in charge and Addi’s own Alpha.
Smiled right at her, it was a lovely thought and made her so very proud of her daughter to see she was as special as Lucian had always said she would be. He had not been wrong, perhaps he had known what she truly was.
“I’ll deal with him.” Addi stated, “Stay here.” She told Luci, as she let go of little Rafe’s hand and motioned for all of them to wait.
She headed right for Orien, stared right at him as she made her way towards him ‘If you yell at my daughter, you’ll be on Fallon’s receiving end.’ She snarled right at him via the mind-link.
‘Why the hell did you run off out of the pack?’ he shot right back.
‘Because my daughter needed me.’ She stopped right in front of him and glared right up at him.
‘Got herself pregnant and took off, just as irresponsible as always, I see.’
‘She never left the pack, was here the whole time. That is not irresponsible, she was heartbroken.’
‘Was a concubine, what’d she bloody think was going to happen? Would they Mark and Mate her? No Alpha would claim one that’s not theirs, not when she’s promiscuous and tainted by so many others.’
Her hand connected with the side of his face before he even knew it was coming, used all her wolfen speed to hit him. One hard resounding slap, both her and Fallon behind it, saw him real backwards from the power she held. She’d never really hit him with everything she had before, well, just that once, a very long time ago when Luci and been 18, but today he’d gotten it all and with her so close to Luci as a siren, got that little bit more. Saw him stumbling a full two steps backwards as she stood there.
Saw his eyes go wide, had not expected her to strike him, it seemed. He should have learned in the past week, that nothing was going to come between her and her child. ‘You say one more nasty word about my daughter, and you’ll see just what I am made of.’ She growled right at him down that mind-link, to her mate, a man she had loved for a lifetime, a man who had taken her in even though she was pregnant with another’s child.
Had told her he didn’t care about that. That he would raise the child as his own and love it as his own. Knew her eyes were really glowing now, could feel the heat in them herself, didn’t much care anymore to hide who she truly was from him anymore. If he wanted a fight, he would have to fight all of her, the full half-breed that she was, witch and wolf, she would give it all to him.
She’d accepted him, because he had accepted her child. Though she had never let him bleed Luci to him. Couldn’t do it, she had no idea if that would take away Lucian’s bloodline and not allow their daughter to be who she was meant to be.
Now her mate, he cared nothing for Luci, had told her years ago she was nothing but shameful to him, had sent her away and even tried to de-rank her to a concubine, though he couldn’t actually do it. Not with Lucian’s and her own b***d flowing in Luci’s veins, it was likely even back then, Luci had been more powerful than Orien had been. She’d simply never displayed it to him, though she was certain Luci felt she was as well.
If he wanted to take Luci on now, he was going to replace himself confronted with Alari. She had not yet seen Luci’s Siren in full form, but just from Luci’s colouring she knew Alari was going to look just like her father. His bloodline was strong, stronger than her wolf as well. Strong enough to change Luci’s appearance when she shifted for the first time.
Orien had no idea what trouble he would replace himself in if he wanted a piece of Luci.
She stood staring at him, could feel his anger rolling off of him, he hadn’t liked being hit by her at all, and certainly not out here in front of another Alpha at that. But he was not the only Alpha, she too was Alpha-blooded and would challenge him if need be.
Saw his beast surface and snarl right at her, felt Fallon rise right up to face off with her own Mate, snarled with all she had right back at him. She was much louder today than any other day, with that connection to her true Alpha. Her Siren Alpha, their aggression was also filtering their Siren venom right this minute and she was actively letting it, so was Fallon.
A body was suddenly between her and Orien, it was Luci, a hand on her stomach and she was shoved back a step, heard a massive hiss emit from her and realised it was Alari. All on the surface, she had not taken kindly to Orien’s wolf surfacing and snarling at her. She would also know that Luci no longer cared for Orien himself, and so had no issue with harming or killing him in all likelihood.
She found two wolves on either side of her and turned to look at them, both were black and white in colour, both stood snarling right up at Orien. She’d not heard them shift, but knew they were her grandchildren, shifted so fast like a fully grown Alpha would a few seconds only for their beast to rip out of them, just like Luci herself, that girl had always been able to shift in the blink of an eye.
The twins were reacting to their own mother’s Siren and the threat Orien was presenting himself as to her. She smiled down at them, already so connected to that Siren side, responded like all Sirens did, all aggression in protecting their family.
They both had their ears back flat against their heads and their hackles were all up, with their tails dropped low to the ground, ready to attack at any given second. The slightest movement that felt aggressive to them and the fight was going to be on. Just six and so very deadly already. Pure Siren instincts ran through their veins.
“Back away.” Alari ordered him, heard the raw power of her Alpha Siren as she rolled her aura right at her stepfather.
Watched on as that man staggered back under the weight of her full authority, saw his eyes widen before he was made to bow down to her, saw him struggle against it. As she continued to roll her aura at him, was going to put him on the ground and she knew it. Addi also knew that he would fight it the whole way and cause himself more pain.
Placed her hand on Alari’s arm gently, “Enough sweetie, I can handle him.” rubbed her arm gently “Let go for now…Look at your beautiful boys.” She smiled, couldn’t help herself they were stunning to look at, she was standing between the two wolves, their colouring was the same but in complete opposite to each other, where one was black the other was white. She figured the one to her left who was mostly black had to be little Rafe and the other on her right, mostly white, was little Jack. She had never seen wolves with this clear-cut colouring before.
Saw Alari let go and stop rolling her aura at Orien to turn and look at her boys, kneeled down and reached out to touch their faces, smiled at one and then the other. Heard a very musical purring come from her and knew it was all three of them looking at the twins in their Siren-Wolf form.
They were not so small either, already stood waist height on her, likely not yet fully grown, were going to be very large and imposing and she just knew it.
One was all black with a white face, white legs and white on the inside of his ears, and the other was all white but with a black face, black legs and black on the inside of his ears. Both of them had black eyes with iridescent glowing iris’s, brilliant red at that.
Pure-blooded hybrids they were.
She watched as they walked past Alari and allowed her hands to slide all the way down their backs. They wound themselves around their mother, rubbed their heads along her and then stopped and looked right at her, and then after just a few seconds pounced right on her.
Addi chuckled as she watched Kali rip right out of Luci and stood with her pups. The three of them touched heads and then were just off running around chasing each other and playing, seemed to have forgotten about everything else going on around them.
Addi got the feeling that this was the very first interaction between all of them. Both the boys wolves, were the same size as Kali, she realised, still had a lot of growing to do. She was willing to bet they were going to be bigger than even their father’s wolves. Stood and watched them as they chased each other around.
Her heart was pounding inside her chest, could feel Fallon wanting to go and join in ‘Go.’ Addison told her and relinquished all control to her Alpha Wolf, to spend time with their first Mate’s child, and their beautiful grand babies.
Fallon was gone, raced over to them. She was a larger wolf than all of them, stood head and shoulders above them, joined in on the fun, chasing and pouncing and rough housing with the three of them. Ran off into the woods with them, didn’t really care where to or for how long. This was her family, where she was the happiest. Fallon had always loved running with Kali out in the woods. Nothing had changed at all, could feel the joy and happiness in Fallon as she got to do this once more.
They ignored Orien’s voice inside their mind telling them to come back, that they needed to talk. Shut him out. She would talk to him when she was ready and not before. He had a lot to apologise for, over the past week and even now today. For his insult to her daughter, someone who was stronger than him and now he knew it. Likely still had no actual idea of what she was and probably wanted answers to that as well.
Well, he was just going to have to wait, nothing and no one was going to come between her and her daughter, not even her mate. Not when she was being more like her old self, was happy and playful, full of cheek. Realised that both the boys were just like her, laughed at their wolves cheekiness.
They were also not alone out here in the woods, both Solar and Flare were trailing the four of them, though she noted keeping their distance. Were watching their own pups for the first time, as much as she and Kali were.
It was a shame she couldn’t mind-link to them, though she knew that Rafe and Jack could both connect with their sons as much as Luci, Kali and Alari could easily talk to them. It was likely Rafe and Jack, Solar and Flare were all open to feeling what the children were feeling, what Luci was feeling as well.
Fallon stopped to just sit and watch the three of them as they slowed down and the boys started to just walk about, watched on as the boy’s wolves started nosing everything, smelling everything with their wolfen senses. Now that their excitement was all out of them, and their curiosity was kicked in for their surroundings.
Fallon purred for them every time they lifted their heads and looked at her. They were so darn adorable, everything in complete unison, they were likely going to be not just big and imposing, a sight to behold, but unbeatable. Likely, just like their fathers as well, share everything, even their women.
Addi encouraged Fallon to howl for them, she wanted to hear them, see them react and they did. Both stood to their full height and looked right at Fallon, their heads tilted to the left, their ears all pricked up. Kali howled loud and long in response to her mother’s howl, it had a very slight harmonic sound as always, so very pretty to hear.
Watched as both boys’ wolves looked to their mother and then tilted their heads back and up to the sky and howled, long and loud, just like Kali had. So very melodious and lyrical, and then there were two more howls resonating through the woods and she knew it was both Solar and Flare joining in the moment.
She knew it was likely that the whole pack was all at attention right this minute, they would all hear it, would also recognise their Alpha and Beta’s wolves howling out inside the pack.
