ROSIE POV

"Hello son,how are you doing and how is Mira?" Evans asked as I sat down feeling anxious to know what really happened to this kids. "Dad. We are fine. Why ask?" Landon asked sounding confused.

"I just got a call and I heard what happened. Hope everything is fine over there? You and Mira weren't hurt right?" Evans said.

"Ohhh. Dad we are doing fine the both of us. Actually it will have been bad but I got home on time." Landon answered.

I quickly grabbed the phone from Evans.

"What do you mean by it will have been bad? What happened?" I asked.

"I thought he told you. I guess he didn't. Well actually Mum a rogue came to the house and tried to attack Mira. I was out to check what was happening when it happened but I got home on time." he said. "My goodness. What did you do with the rogue?" I asked him.

"I killed him. So he won't come back again to hurt my mate." he answered.

"You what?" I asked so surprised. Never in my life did I ever imagine I will hear any of my kids say those words.

"I had to kill him Mum. I can't just let him run away after what he did to Mira. He made her so scared. She was literally shaking when I got home and he was trying to take her away from me also. So I had to end his live." he said.

"Son you did the right thing. Am proud of the decision you took. Continue to protect Mira like this. Anyways we have to go. I actually just called to check up on you both and to tell you that im proud of you." Evans said.

"Thanks dad. Sorry Dad I have to go. I need to attend to something urgent. Bye mum." he said quickly before hanging up.

"Mum can you close your mouth and stop looking like that." Layla said.

"Shut up Layla. Your brother just killed someone. Shouldn't I be bothered?" I asked.

"No you shouldn't be because that's what makes him an alpha. Being able to protect your mate and people. You heard when my friend said rouges attacked them. Landon has to kill them or else he would be killed. What if he didn't kill that rogue, what would have happened to Mira? He did that for his mate so get use to it." Evans said.

"You have a point. Just that I see our children as babies that's why I'm really shocked. Well at least they are both fine." I said to him.

"Soon our son will take over us. So get use to the fact that they are grown ups." Evans said.

"Dad is right. Soon you will be carrying your grandkids so always remember that we are adult's now." Layla said smiling.

Evans lips quickly dropped. He hates it when he remembers that Layla will have s*x with Calvin and give birth. Although he doesn't hate the idea of carrying her own child.

"Hope your mate isn't asking you for a baby right now princess? You both are too young. Wait for at least ten years before you start planning on having kids." he said with a serious face.

Layla and I began to laugh at him.

"Dad you can't be serious right? You want me to wait for ten whole years before I can carry my own children. Maybe by then Luca and Landon's kids are all grown up. No way. Sorry to disappoint you daddy but I can't do that." she told him. "Alright then if you think ten years is too much, I will reduce it to five." he said seriously bargaining with her.

"No daddy it's too much too. From now till two years. Why I said two years is because of my studies. I don't want to be pregnant and also be studying. It will stressful for me." Layla said.

Evans didn't want to hear it. He kept on insisting five years but his daughter refused to accept it too. I sat down and watched them argue about it. I can't come in between them because they will be fine without me. That I know.

It was Layla's ringtone that made them stop arguing.

"Mum, Dad, it's time I go upstairs right now. I need to talk to my mate and rest. Goodnight you both." She said before standing up and she quickly ran upstairs.

It didn't take only a genius to know that it was Calvin who just called her that's why she's running off.

I turned to look at her father who was sulking alone.

"Can you stop it already? She is grown. I keep reminding you about that." I said to him.

"I know that. Besides I'm not sulking because of that." he said.

"Then why are you sulking? Tell me."

"She is gone. She left me alone." he said closing his eyes.

"And so? I'm here for you remember. Or am I invisible to you?" I asked him.

"Well maybe. You picked your book over me remember. You didn't even ask me how my day went." he said.

I smiled. I knew that he hasn't forgotten about it. And I know what he wanted. His to plain and I know him so well more than he knows himself. I knew he will bring back this topic when Layla is not with us. Although I was expecting him to talk about it when we are in the bedroom and not in the living room.

"Are you still sad about that? I said I'm sorry honey didn't I?"

"You really hurt me with your actions. You made me feel like I wasn't enough for you." he said with his lips down.

I pulled his head to my chest knowing he just wanted some physical touch. I played with his hair slowly.

"You know you are more than enough for me honey. Don't ever think that. Now tell me are you comfortable."

"I am comfortable but soon I will be stiff so I better adjust well. Now you are going to spend some time with me before we go to the bed." he said before he laid down on the couch placing his head on my laps.

He let out a sigh looking at rest.

"Now this is better. So tell me apart from the book you were reading, what did you do today?" he asked.

I continued playing with his hair as I looked down at him.

"Angel, Maria and I had a girls time today. We went to the spa, then we went for shopping before we treated ourselves in a nice restaurant which was just opened. Their steak is really nice. One day we will go there. What do you say?" I asked him.

"I will love that. I missed going on dates with you baby. It's been long." he said smiling.

"What are you saying? We went on a date last week. Remember."

"Its last week. We haven't gone for one this week. I don't mind if we create on our schedules to be going on dates maybe twice or thrice in a week. It will be amazing. Right?" he answered.

"It will be amazing but then it will get tiring and boring because we have been doing it all the time. It's better if we do it once in a while. At least it will be fun. If you want us to spend more time with each other then you can be returning home on time then we can sit down maybe in the garden then talk like we are doing right now. We can have coffee nights also where we can just sit down together and talk while we drink coffee." I suggested.

"You are so brilliant baby. I love this suggestion. We have to start tomorrow. And please tomorrow don't come with another excuse that you are reading a novel or else I will hide all the books from you." he said.

"Evans Bryan, are you threatening me?" I asked him raising an eyebrow.

"Of course not my queen. I can never do such a thing. Never. I am not threatening you ma."

"Good. Now tell me how did your own day go?"

I asked him.

"It was so stressful. We had a visual meeting today which went on for hours and also remember that pack that just emerged!" he asked.

"Yes, what about it?" I replied asking him a question.

"Well the alpha wanted to form alliance with me. But I haven't given him my answer yet because I need to study him and the observe the activities going on in his pack. If it's something I can cope with then I will accept his alliance request. But if not then I will refuse it." he answered.

"I think that's a good idea. So you had a really stressful day isn't it?" I asked him.

"Yes baby. Really stressful. And when I needed your attention to take away the stress I was feeling, you were busy. You didn't have any time for me." he said.

"Okay how does a massage sound to show that am sorry for the twentieth time." I asked.

"Sounds perfect. Really perfect. Infact now you are speaking. Let's go upstairs now." he said as he jumped down from the couch. He helped me up and we began to walk out of the living room

I was about stepping the stairs when the next thing I realized was my feet wasn't touching the ground. Evans was carrying me.

"Bring me down this instant." I said to him.

"No I won't. I want to carry my mate. Don't worry about me. I'm still strong to carry you so enjoy it before it will a time when I won't be able to." he said as he continued stepping the stairs.

"But what if someone sees us now?" I whispered.

"I don't care if Layla or whoever sees us. We aren't doing anything bad. We are just two sweet romantic mates who can't do without each other." he said with pride.

"You and your words." I laughed.

"I know you are falling deeper and deeper in love with me. Well you are free because I'm all yours. But know that my words aren't for free. You are going to pay for it after the massage." he said showing me a wink as he opened our bedroom door. I laughed knowing fully well what he meant by that.
