Chapter 38

EVANS POV

I was surprised my my mother's attitude. I mean I have never seen her act in such manner. She was always smiling and happy to see guests. But why was she harsh on Juliet. Or did Juliet do anything to her? I need to ask her. I quickly stood up and picked my bag before leaving my room. I rushed to the sitting room. Juliet was there pressing her phone. "Juliet." I said.

She raised her head and smiled when she saw me. I watched as she stood up and walked to me before kissing my lips. Truth be told I felt a bit disgusted when her lips touched mine but I shaked it off because I knew it was because of the mate bond that's why I was feeling that way.

"I can see your dressed already. I came so we could go to school together since we are dating." she said smiling.

"That's nice. But you should have informed me that you were coming over. Isn't it a bit early?" I asked her.

"No it's not too early. Besides what's wrong in surprising my boyfriend by coming to his house without calling him? Or don't you want me here?" she asked looking at me.

Now I didn't know how to answer her questions. I just needed to think inorder to give her an answer that won't make her feel offended.

"Juliet there is nothing wrong in coming over but still next time let me know when you are coming okay?" I said to her.

"Alright fine if you say so." she said rolling her eyes.

"Well let's be going to school then." I said to her.

If I wanted to talk about what my mum said, I can't do it in the house. It's better maybe when we are in school or somewhere else.

"Lets go." she said smiling as she held my hands and we walked out of the house.

I went for my Ferrari since my power bike was still faulty. Also I had a policy which is to never ride my power bike with any passenger. If I was to give someone a lift, I would use my car but not my precious baby. "But Evans why can't we use the power bike?" Juliet whined.

"Well it's faulty at the moment." I said to her as I opened the door to my car and entered. She entered to closing the door.

"So tell me when are you going to take me out for a ride on it?" she asked smiling at me.

"Hmmm let me think. Maybe never. I actually don't carry anyone on my bike." I said to her as I started the engine of my second baby. I love the sound of this car. It gives so much powerful vibes.

"Erm but why? I'm your girlfriend so I think Its okay if I ride on it, right?" she asked.

"Well girlfriend or not, I won't allow anyone ride on it except me." I said to her sternly.

I guess she noticed there was no way she can change my mind so she kept shut through out the ride to school.

We reached the school gate and it was a good thing I didn't get to see the Omega. I didn't hate strength for her. I was just hoping she was able to finish her work yesterday early. I thought.

When I noticed I was thinking about her, I quickly shaked my head to clear my mind.

I looked for a nice parking spot and packed my car before coming down from the car. Juliet also came down with and stood beside me as we both walked into the school building. The hall was clear. No sign of the Omega.i followed Juliet to her class not to escort her but to check up on the Omega. I looked around the classroom but didn't see her. I also noticed smith's mate was absent too. What was wrong with her? Is she sick or something? I wondered.

As I was about leaving the classroom, I bumped into someone. I was about to apologize when I noticed it was her.

"Why will you come to school at this time?" I asked her.

She looked at me like I had two heads instead of one.

"What's wrong with the time? I'm not late so why are you asking?" she asked looking at me with confusion written all over her face.

Now I didn't know what to tell her again because she was right. She wasn't late so there was absolutely nothing wrong with the time. "Anyways forget about that. Yesterday were you able to finish the work I assigned you?" I asked her.

"Yes I was able to. I completed my task yesterday." she said.

Now there was nothing I could come up with again so I let her enter the classroom as I walked to mine.

I wonder what exactly was wrong with me. I'm becoming soft to her and don't know how it all started. I need to stop whatever it is.

When I entered my class, I saw my two friends talking. Whatever it was must be entertaining because I saw Smith laughing. I walked to them to join them. But when I got to them, they all kept quiet like they weren't just talking right now.

"Why are you guys quiet? Or is it that you don't me to hear what you are all saying?" I asked them smiling.

"Well yes we actually don't want you to hear what we are talking about because we are mad at you." Smith said.

I raised a brow up.

"Mad at me? Why?" I asked.

"About yesterday you really had to punish Rosie only because she helped my mate with a work that was so exhausting. You decided to let the main culprit go and punished the victim who stood up for my mate. Is that what real friendship is to you? You don't care about my mate?" Smith asked not smiling at all.

"Well I'm sorry about Juliet yesterday. But I made her apologize to Maria right. So I did nothing wrong." I said to them

"Of course you did something wrong, you punished Rosie. And you know just how much love we her as our friend." Nate said frowning at me.

Wow they both have agreed to gang up on me. Well there is only one thing left.

"Im sorry you guys. It might not happen again but not promising anything." I said to them.

Smith let out a sigh.

"hey but seriously man is there anyway you can actually like Rosie a little? She is a nice person but I still don't get why you decided to make her life a living hell."

"I can't promise you both to like her but I will try to go slow on her." I said to them only because I wanted my friends back not that I actually meant it.

"Well then I think that's much better. Maybe when you start with slow, you will end well." Nate said smiling.

We three began to talk as normal before the teacher entered.

When it was lunch time, I remembered I needed to have a little talk with Juliet about my mother. I went to the cafeteria and ordered something to eat first. I can't talk to her in an empty stomach.

After collecting my tray, I quickly sat down and rushed my food. Luckily for me, she entered just when I had stuffed the last spoon of rice into my mouth.

She first walked to me and sat close to me.

"Hey you, can't believe you will eat without me." she said with a pout on her face.

"Well I waited for you but since you didn't come on time, I had to go ahead and eat something because I didn't have breakfast at home." I said to her.

"Oh well let me go and get something." she said standing up.

I quickly stood up with her.

"Erm before that can we go talk somewhere. I need to talk to you about something very important." I said to her.

"Okay?? What's is all about?" she asked looking so confused.

I smiled so she will feel at ease.

"Don't worry it's just a little something."

We left the cafeteria and went outside to the garden. On reaching the garden, I couldn't stop myself from remembering how I got slapped by that Omega here. Well Evans don't think about that right now, your not here for that. "So what is it?" she asked impatiently.

"Well can you honestly tell me what exactly happened between you and my mother this morning?" I asked her.

"Nothing happened between us." she said looking away from me. I knew she was lying.

"I know something happened so please I need to hear your own side of the story." I said to her.

"Well she only shouted at me that I had no right to go upstairs to your room and I should go to the living room and wait for you there that was all." she said.

Well I guess I'm not getting anything reasonable from her because based on her explanation that wasn't a reason for my mother to hate her except there is more to it and the only way I can replace the right answers is if I ask my mother directly when she has calmed down.

"But Evans it seems your mother doesn't like me. I don't know what I did wrong to her." she said with teary eyes.

I pulled her to my chest hugging her.

"No don't think that. Maybe it's only a misunderstanding. My mother will change to love you soon. Don't you worry." I said to her.

"I hope so too. Because I love you so much and can't lose you." she said.

"Don't worry you have me." I said to her.

"Before I forget, please can you come over to my house later. Actually my parents won't be at home all through the day and I don't feel comfortable just staying at home all by myself. Please. You can leave immediately they return." she said looking into my eyes. I thought about it. Well it's not like I was going to spend the night there so it's okay.

"Alright fine."

Only if I knew what would happen later, I won't have agreed to go to her place.
