The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 19
Zayne watched his elders argue amongst themselves as to how to deal with the pressing matter.
"I told you guys not to worry, I have dealt with the issue once Elder Lauren relayed it to me," Zayne said, and a hush of murmurs swept across the hall.
"But still, there's no way our minds would be at ease. We have one of us as the Luna of our enemy pack, once Killian gains her trust, he can learn so much about us from her. I am afraid our end is very much near." An elder, who was a bit younger than Elder Lauren said. He is popularly referred to as Elder Alexander.
"I understand your concerns, and I promise you that everything is under control. We also have spies in their midst, trust me." Zayne said in a bid to calm the elders' nerves. He was getting frustrated by their incessant nagging.
The remaining elders took turns to share their concerns, while Elder Lauren remained quiet throughout the meeting.
"Is anything on your mind, elder Lauren?" Zayne asked as he noticed how silent he was throughout the meeting.
Elder Lauren sighed and faced Zayne squarely.
"Our spy in the blue moon pack reported to me that the crowned Luna was your rejected mate, Sara." Everyone's faces widened in shock as elder Lauren spilled the beans. They couldn't believe their ears, the same Sara they had all rejected and cursed was now crowned the Luna of their enemy pack.
"This is doom." Elder Alexander cried out. He feared what would become of them if Sara turned against them and sought revenge for all they did to her.
They all knew for sure that they treated her badly while she was with them, but now she is the Luna of the blue moon pack, their fated enemy.
Zayne's expression was even more shocking, he couldn't register what Elder Lauren had just told him. He felt a mixture of anger and jealousy within him. He was pained that Sara, the girl he had once rejected had now grown into a powerful Luna.
The thought of another man on Sara made him crazy, and he began to wonder if he had made the right decision by rejecting her. He wore a fiery gaze and he began to sweat profusely. As much as he could remember, he had not finalized his rejection of Sara; the mate bond was not broken yet; he had just rejected her with his mouth only, and logically, she should still belong to him.
"Sara is my mate, and it's a great disgrace if a man other than me lies next to her," Zayne muttered to himself; he tightened his fist so deep that his sharp fingernails ripped his hand open, and blood dripped out of his palm.
His eyes popped out, and he was filled with such a fiery rage that even the elders were terrified whenever they stole a glance at him.
"I will have her back by all means; she is my mate and can only belong to me." He roared, and his voice echoed through the walls of the meeting hall.
"Guards, prepare my sedan, I am visiting the blue moon pack right now." He ordered, and the guards rushed out to execute his orders.
"If there is any other thing, we will discuss it when I am back." He continued and all the elders rose to their feet.
"Yes, my Alpha." They all chorused with a slight bow, before taking their leave one after the other.
Elder Lauren was the last to leave the meeting hall, he placed his hand on Zayne's shoulder and patted him softly.
"Remember, the fate of the Red Moon pack lies on your shoulders; we all depend on you, and our future depends on the decisions you make right now." Elder Lauren advised while Zayne smiled.
Even though Elder Lauren might be annoying sometimes, he was still like a father figure to Zayne.
"Thank you for your advice," Zayne replied, and the elder nodded before heading out of the room.
"My Alpha, it's time to set off."

Killian greeted the elders as he stepped into the throne room. His face was a bit gloomy and the elders could sense it.
"Is anything the problem, Alpha Killian?" Jared took the initiative to ask, while Killian flung his sore gaze at him.
"Shouldn't I convict you of your dereliction of duty for yesterday's incident?" Killian said
in a tone that showed how serious he was.
Jared instantly went on his knees and bowed slightly before Killian.

"My Alpha, I am sorry about the incident. It's indeed my oversight that caused the misfortune, and I am willing to be punished for it." Jared replied and Killian sighed.
To him, there was no use in punishing Jared, as it won't bring the dead back to life. Some rogue wolves had attacked some houses right within the pack, and many wolves lost their lives in the incident. It was a painful scene as blood flowed everywhere.
What angered Killian was the rogues audacity to attack within the pack, and not at the outskirts. It showed that they were not concerned about the guards, or they had their way with the guards and had bribed them off. Killian knew he had to conduct a thorough investigation; blaming Jared for the whole incident wouldn't solve anything. "It's alright. You can have your seat." Killian said to Jared.
"Thanks for your mercies, my Alpha," Jared replied. He was about to take his seat when a loud noise erupted into the air.
A guard covered in blood rushed into the throne room, looking scared, and agitated.
He had something to say but he was panting too heavily that not even a single word could be heard from him.
"Calm down and talk!" Killian ordered, and the guard tried regulating his breath.
"Now tell me what's wrong." Killian roared, and the guard pointed out.
"It's Zayne, the Alpha of the red moon pack, he is here." The guard screamed, and Killian sprang up from his throne with an immediate effect.
