The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 18
Clara's face widened in excitement as she was being led to her room, she giggled to herself, happy that her plan had worked out.
She followed the guard closely behind her while she rolled her eyes all over the place as if she were looking for something.
She lowered her head as a hefty guard walked towards them, he was the chief guard. The guard leading Clara to her room saluted the chief guard, while Clara winked at him. The chief guard understood what she meant, and he winked back at her.
"Where are you taking her to?" The Chief guard questioned, deliberately delaying the guard so he could have some time with Clara.
"The Alpha ordered that I should take her to one of the unoccupied rooms." The guard replied with a slight bow. "It's alright. You can leave." The chief guard ordered, and the other guard raised his head to look at him. "Excuse me?" The guard asked as politely as he could.
"Didn't you hear me? Or do you want to defy my orders?" The chief guard screamed, and the guard hurriedly lowered his head.
"I have something to do in that direction; leave her to me; I will take care of her." The chief guard roared, and the guard obeyed.
"Yes sir." The guard replied and walked away.
Clara let out a sigh of relief as the guard walked away.
"What a stubborn fellow." She muttered. She placed her hand on her chest and tried to control her breathing. "It's alright. You should compose yourself so as not to be found, you shouldn't give yourself away." The chief guard advised and Clara replied with a yes.
He led her to the room he had prepared for her beforehand. He gently closed the door and looked through the window to watch out for people before turning to Clara.
"Flder_Lauren already informed me of, vour arrival so Inrenared thiq nlace for, vou. It's not far from the Alnba's room so you can always get to him easily." The chief guard said, and Clara sighed. He had just made her job a bit easier.
"Also, I will be here to assist you, In case you need something, do let me know. I will do my best to help." He added while Clara nodded.
"By the way, I have a question," Clara muttered, and the chief guard focused his full attention on her. "What's that?"
"You've been here for a while, do you know of anyone in the pack that can help us overthrow Killian?" She asked while the chief guard racked his brain.

"I think that would be Leon..." he replied, dusted the only chair in the room, and rested his butt on it.
"Leon?"
"Yes. He was Killian's greatest opponent, and still his most dreaded rival in the pack. He has lots of supporters, and some people preferred him as the Alpha to Killian." The chief guard replied.
"Why do
you
ask?" He questioned, seeing how interested Clara was in the matter.
"I just need to know. I need to know everyone who can facilitate and hinder my mission here. We will have a higher chance of winning if we know ourselves and our enemy very well." She replied, and the chief guard agreed with her.
"Makes sense. I should return to my duty now so as not to raise any form of suspicion. Do not forget to contact me in case you need anything; you can always come to meet me at the security building." He said and made to exit the room when Clara stopped him.
"That girl..."
"I mean, the Luna. Her name is Sara, the rejected mate of Alpha Zayne." She said, and the guard's face lit up in shock. "Are you sure about it?" The chief guard asked as he turned to face Clara.

"I can bet my life on it. Almost everyone from our pack knows Sara. She was famous for being mate-less and lonely as all of her previous mates ended up dying miserably." She explained to the chief guard.
"If what you said is true, why then is Killian still alive? They've already accepted the mate bond." The chief guard asked in confusion, while Clara furrowed her brows.
"That's where I am confused also, it seems there are lots of things we don't know about Sara." She continued with a sigh and sat on the chair.
"Remember to inform Elder Lauren about it, so he can relay the information to the alpha," Clara muttered while the chief guard nodded.
"No problem then, take good care of yourself. I am off." The chief guard silently closed the door and checked if nobody saw him before heading towards his duty post.
Clara laid her head on the bed, various thoughts flashed through her mind as she decided on her next move.
"Sara, you can enjoy your position as much as you can for now, as it will soon slide off your hands." She said with wicked laughter that tears began to roll out of her eyes and nose.
Suddenly, the light in the room began to flicker, and a strange wind gushed inside through the windows. Everywhere instantly became scary and creepy, but Clara stood still, maintaining her composure.
Suddenly, the door opened and slammed with great force, and everywhere became dark.
A huge, tall shadow stood in front of Clara and she bowed her head slightly in reverence. "Greetings, the great one."
