The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 26
A maid could be seen running as fast as her tiny legs could carry her. She stopped in front of a door, panting heavily as she landed some knocks on the metal door.
Lydia walked out in anger as she wondered who could be knocking aggressively on her door.
"What's wrong? Why were you knocking in such a way?" She asked as she rolled her eyes over the maid. She was still pained about what happened earlier that day, and wouldn't tolerate any act she deems unruly.
"Miss, he has been captured." The maid said to her, and Lydia's brows furrowed as she tried to decipher the meaning behind what she was saying.
"Who was captured?" She asked the maid, who looked around briefly before whispering some words into Lydia's ears. Her eyes opened wide in astonishment as the words traveled down her earlobes, she could feel her heart thud heavily in her chest.
"What?" She screamed out, and the maid bowed.
"He confessed to poisoning the Luna, and he has been dragged to the cell." The maid said to her. Lydia had begun to sweat despite the cool breeze that blew softly in the pack. Her face was laced with fear; she knew for sure that she would be doomed if the chief guard should mention her name as an accomplice.
"Clara, I need to visit Clara." She said to herself, dashed into her room, and came out almost immediately.
"Right, if anyone should ask of me, tell them I am not feeling too fine, and that I am recuperating inside." She ordered before running out. She covered her face with a veil to prevent others from recognizing her.
She stopped abruptly when she saw Clara and Savannah walking towards her. She waved her hands at them so she could catch their attention.
Clara pretended as if she didn't see her, she only winked at her, and Lydia got the meaning.
There was lots of tension in the pack, and security was heightened following what happened that morning.
"People are suspicious, we shouldn't talk about it outside," Clara said as they all entered Savannah's apothecary.
"Did you guys hear?" Lydia asked, and Savannah nodded.
"That's why we were coming to you," Clara answered her question. She noticed how
tense Lydia was and advised her to calm her nerves.
"What then do we do?" Lydia asked while Clara smiled.
"You all don't need to worry, I know what to do. I just need some information from you guys." Clara replied, and the girls focused their attention on her.
"What information?"
"I need to know when the guards guarding the cell room switch positions, and the time when the security is at the weakest," Clara said, and Lydia's eyes bulged out.
"You want to break into the prison?" Lydia was astounded as she wondered how Clara could be so brave to consider breaking into the prison.
"It's alright. Trust me. I have a perfect solution that will not hurt any of us, and even the chief guard will be freed from his current predicament." She smiled at the ladies who were a bit concerned about her. Breaking into the prison was not an easy job, but she, Clara had been trained for that all the days of her life.
"Around eleven at night, the guards switch positions, and the security is at the weakest by that time," Lydia replied to her. She had heard it from Jared when he was talking to one of his soldiers.
"Alright then, expect my great news." She said with a mischievous smile on her face. She interlocked her fingers as she tried to set up a plan in her head.
"I must remind you though," Lydia cut into Clara's thinking as she flung her gaze on her.
"Breaking into the prison is not an easy job, you have to be careful," Lydia said while Savannah smiled. Lydia's concern was not Clara's safety; rather,, she feared that Clara might mention her name if she was caught in the process of her breaking into the prison, which was a capital crim, and it's a sure death sentence.

"Don't worry about me, I will be fine." She replied and stood up from where she was seated.
"I will bring you good news tonight, for now, let me go to my room and make a solid plan." She said while the others agreed with her.
"Lydia, I will need something from you," Clara said and whispered the thing she needed into Lydia's ears. Her face widened and she hurriedly nodded her head.
"I will bring it to you tonight," Lydia replied to her.
"Also, Savannah, do you have nah drug that could knock people out within seconds? They shouldn't wake up in the next thirty minutes also." Clara asked while Savannah smiled.
"You are just at the right place." Savannah opened a drawer and took out a whitish substance which was wrapped in a paper.
"A little of this in the atmosphere will bring down the strongest man," Savannah said while Clara smiled.
"Perfect!"
"Be careful," Savannah uttered while Clara nodded her head. She gently opened the door and walked out of the apothecary, looking around to make sure no one was monitoring her.
"Killian, just wait, I am about to send you a big gift tonight."
