The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 48
"You...are kidding, right?" Sara mumbled, her voice low and broken. Leon placed his hand on his waist and let out a sigh.
"Sara, I will never lie to you. You are indeed pregnant for him, but then does it matter? He doesn't want you anymore." Leon pointed it out for her to see, but it seemed the pregnancy news only filled her with more determination and resilience.
"That's one more reason for me to visit him, maybe he might have a rethink considering the fact that I am carrying his baby." She uttered, a glimmer of hope shining brightly in her eyes. She instantly ran her palm across her cheeks, wiping her tears dry.
"No, you can't." Leon yelled, holding Sara's hand as she made for the door. He opened his mouth but closed it back as he struggled to get the words out of his mouth.
"Why can't I? I need to ask him personally, and tell him about our child."
"Because he ordered your death." Leon screamed, panting hard as the words finally found their way out of his mouth.
"What? He...did what?" Sara stammered, knowing that her entire world was about to come crashing down.
"Yes. He ordered your death, and I have evidence for that. I didn't want to tell you before because of your condition, but..."
"But I have to tell you now, going back to replace him means nothing but death. Or do you want to lose your child's life too?" He asked her, holding her shoulders as he spoke directly to her face.
Sara placed her hands on her head, shaking it rapidly as though she was about to go crazy. She jerked off Leon's hands and struggled to sit on the bed.
"But...do you have...any proof for what you just said?" She trembled, wishing badly that the answer to her question would be a "no". She knew she could go crazy for real if Killian was truly the one behind all of these.
"I know you feel hurt and betrayed, and it's very hard for you to accept this new development. But it's the reality, Sara, and I will prove it to you." He replied, and with that being said, dashed into the room hastily.
Sara's heart pounded as he ran into the room, which later doubled the moment he reappeared in front of her, holding a piece of paper that seemed like a royal edict.
Sara swallowed hard as he approached her with the paper, she could see the royal seal on the paper, which belonged to only Killian, and can only be used by him.
Leon stood in front of her, and let out a sigh.
"As much as I hate to show this to you, Sara, but you have to see it so you can come back to your senses." He said, handing over the paper to her.
Sara snatched the paper from him and her eyes read through the contents at the speed of light.
"I, Killian, the Alpha of the blue moon pack hereby sentence Sara to death." She began to gasp for air after reading the sentence. Leon hurriedly rushed to her side, and patted her at her back, he gave her some water which she gulped down instantly.
"Nooo, this can't be true, this is fabricated, I am sure Killian didn't write this." She muttered, biting her lower lip as tears rushed down her cheeks.
She could remember the man that approached her in the cell. Even though he looked so much like Killian, and had the same voice as him, there was an unmistakable difference that lingered between the two. Although they have the same stature, Killian was a bit more muscular and athletic than him. Also, he denied swearing to be with her and protect her, which Killian would never do.
"I guess you are going out of your mind, Sara. This is Killian's fucking handwriting, and can't you see the imperial seal on it? It stands for Killian, it represents him wherever it appears." Leon shouted at her, but Sara knew in her mind that it couldn't be him. To her, all of these must be manipulated by some evil-doers. The months of trust she had built with Killian was enough to harden her heart against what Leon was saying to her at the moment.
"He nearly died because of me, he stabbed himself, Leon! Are you now telling me that it was a lie and pretense? Nah...I don't believe any of these. I love him, and he loves me too, but I am not worthy of his love if I can't even trust him." She replied, wiping her eyes and clearing her nostrils. She seemed to be filled with a new energy as she uttered that statement. She glanced at the food Leon placed on the bed and decided to eat. After all, she needed more energy to ask Killian the numerous questions that were burning in her mind, also, she needed to survive, for her baby.
Leon watched as Sara munched through the food hungrily. He let out a sigh of relief which was immediately accompanied by a warm smile on his lips, thinking that he had successfully been able to bring her back to her senses.
Sara stood up immediately she finished eating, and stared at Leon.
"Thanks for the food, care and hospitality, but I have to go back, Leon, I have to." She said, and Leon seemed dumbfounded for some minutes. He had always been a sweet- talker, and never found it hard to convince someone of their opinions. But he was about to go crazy replaceing out that he still couldn't make Sara change her mind.
"No, you cannot go. You are not allowed to leave me, Sara." He yelled, rushed to the door, and locked it. He inserted the keys into his pocket, staring hard at Sara, who couldn't believe her eyes.
"What are you doing now? Do you want to lock me up here?" Sara asked in shock, running her claws through her hair in desperation.
"If that will bring you back to your senses, then I can gladly do it. I can lock you up forever...till the day you forget about him, and your heart will belong to only me." He yelled, his red, fiery eyeballs protruding out of their sockets as he breathed heavily. "What?"
