The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 49
"Congratulations, now it's your chance to be the Luna of the blue moon pack. It's your time to be the most revered lady of the pack." Clara said with a smile as she
approached Lydia.
Lydia adjusted her dress and wore a bright smile. She quickly rushed towards Clara and held her two hands.
"Thank you so much. If not for you, I wouldn't have been able to successfully eliminate that bitch and chase her away." She paused and sighed. She took Clara's hand and led her into her room. She glanced around to be sure no one was passing by and slowly closed the door.
"Why are you being so..."
"Shhhh." Lydia muttered, placing her finger on Clara's lips.
She closed the window, and turned on the light. She walked towards her wardrobe and smiled.
"I have been waiting for this day for so long. Now that that witch is gone, I can finally take my position as the Luna of the pack, I can now rest in Killian's hands and replace comfort in him." She said, pulling out a golden dress, laced with exquisite beads with a beautiful phoenix pattern embroidered on it.
"I really can't wait to try this on." She said, giving Clara a smirk. She ran her claws through the dress and smiled.
Clara rolled her eyes on the dress, and shook her head.
"So that's why you murdered the elder?" She asked, leaving Lydia tensed for some
moment.
"I was correct, right?" Clara asked again, with a wide smirk on his face. She slowly pulled the dress from Lydia who seemed to have lost her voice, and nodded her head.
"Nice dress by the way. I can't wait to honour you when you finally put it on." Clara muttered, while Lydia tried to fake a smile.
"What are you talking about, Clara? You joke a lot." Lydia uttered, trying so hard to hide her nervousness as she lowered her gaze from Clara's.
"Joking? Was I joking about it?" Clara asked with a mischievous smile. Lydia had begun to sweat profusely. She snatched the dress from Clara and stuffed it back into her wardrobe, opened the windows and grabbed a drink.
"What do you mean by I murdered him? I don't have such a mind and you know that I am very timid. It's funny that you actually think I can kill a whole elder of the pack and go Scot-free." She replied. Clara stared at her for some seconds, increasing the tension in the room, causing Lydia's heart to beat aggressively. She continued the stare before letting out a loud laughter, that somehow confused Lydia. She patted Lydia on her shoulder and smiled at her.
"I was just kidding, don't take it to heart. How can you murder a person on your own?" Clara muttered, while Lydia joined her in the laughter.
"You should be a comedian. I knew you were acting it." Lydia waved it off, and tried calming her mind, even though she wondered how intimidating Clara could be.
She clenched her fist so tight in anger that her nails began to rip her flesh apart. Blood dripped on the floor, catching the attention of Clara.
"You are bleeding." Clara screamed, and instantly grabbed Lydia's hand.
"Ouch!" Lydia yelled, as though the pain of the cut just traveled through her meridians.
"I accidentally cut myself yesterday night when I was making dinner. I still don't know why it's not healed yet." She lied, taking a deep breath as she stared into the atmosphere.
"Poor Savannah. She would have treated me and the wound would have been long gone." She sighed. Clara tore a piece of cloth and wrapped it around her palm.
"She died for the greater picture. It's a sacrifice she had to make, and I am sure she doesn't regret it wherever she is. You should be the one not to make her sacrifice in vain." Clara uttered, while Lydia nodded her head.
"Right, I came to replace you for a purpose." Clara muttered, grabbing all of Lydia's attention.
"What's that?" She asked, her eyes darting sideways as she wondered the reason why she might have approached her.
"Your dad..." Clara said, and paused, causing Lydia to sprang up from her seat.
"What's up with my dad? What do you want with him? You don't want me to sacrifice him just like I did to Savannah, right?" Lydia screamed in one breath, panting heavily as the words escaped her.
"Calm. That's not what I am saying." She said,
"I hope you know that your dad is coveting the Alpha's position?" Clara asked, leaving Lydia confused and tense.
"What do you mean by that?" Lydia asked her.
"He wants Killian dead!" She replied softly, causing Lydia's heart to skip a beat.

"What did you say?" Clara asked, her eyes getting welled up by tears that threatened to pour.
"You heard me right, Lydia. If your dad should be the Alpha of the pack, then your dreams and aspirations of being the Luna of the pack are shattered, plus you have to watch your lover die by your father's hand." Clara said, heaving a sigh as she uttered the words.
"No, that's not possible. It can't be." Lydia mumbled, her mind ranting with different voices that threatened to render her crazy.
It was as if her world was gradually collapsing.
"I heard him, I heard your dad speaking with one of his men, so I thought of telling you about it." Clara replied to her.
"Clara, you are very smart. What should I do, please? I want Killian, and I want to be his Luna. But then, I can't forsake my dad, and I can't...I can't kill him." She cried. Salty, warm tears crawling down her soft cheeks.
"Don't be silly. I won't ask you to kill your dad. But then I have a solution for you." She said with a smile, causing Lydia's heart to race.
"What is it?" Lydia asked instantly, fixing her eyes on Clara's lips.
"I will tell you a secret, and your dad will forever obey you!"
