The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 55
"I am afraid she can't be saved." The physician told Zayne, who sighed upon hearing the news. He placed his hands on his waist and paced the hall. His face wrinkles as he racks his brain for a possible solution to the disaster that had hit the red moon pack.
"My Alpha." A guard ran in with a great speed, looking flustered and disturbed.
"What is it? How's it going?" Zayne asked hurriedly, his eyes darting sideways as the guard knelt before him.
"Ten more people are confirmed dead. The plague is spreading, and the people are dying!" A hush of murmur swept across the hall, each one of the elders muttering some indistinct words.
A huge plague had suddenly hit the grounds of the red moon pack, affecting almost all of the residents of the pack. Even their farms were not left untouched, a strange famine accompanied the plague, all their farm produce became rotten, and the crops on the field were destroyed by unseen forces.
"My Alpha, the moon goddess is angry, we must replace Sara, if we want to survive, we must replace her." An elder said, coughing painfully before spitting out blood.
A loud cry erupted in the hall as the elder showed symptoms of the plague. People around him hurriedly moved away, and covered their noses.
Zayne was getting more disturbed, the plague was getting more serious than he had thought. The moon goddess had warned them beforehand, and to solve this plague, he must replace Sara and mate her, or at least, get her blessings.
The moon priestess walked in that very moment, and Zayne felt a bit relieved by her presence.
"Wise one, do you have a solution already?" Zayne asked hurriedly, his face illuminated with hope and joy.
The moon priestess sighed, and shook her head, causing Zayne's smile to evaporate quickly.
"The moon goddess is adamant on replaceing Sara, and getting her blessings at least. Only then can this disaster be solved." The moon priestess mumbled, sighed and turned her back to walk away.
"I will be visiting the blue moon pack." Zayne said after some seconds of awkward silence, bringing the moon priestess to a sudden halt, while the elders looked into each other's eyes, wondering if Zayne had not heard of the situation in the blue moon pack.
"I am afraid it's not convenient for you to visit the blue moon pack, my Alpha." One of the elders said with a bow. Zayne became puzzled by the elder's statement, he furrowed his brows, and bit his lower lip.
"Why is it not convenient?" Zayne asked them, wondering what might have happened in the blue moon pack.
No one could respond to him, as though all the elders were afraid of spilling the news to him as it might get him angered. The moon priestess turned to face him, looking squarely into his eyes.
"She was framed for murder!" The moon priestess said to him. Her words nearly gouged out Zayne's eyes from their sockets, leaving him stunned and in disbelief.
"What? Where is she now?"
"Killian ordered that she should be executed, but she was able to escape, and her whereabouts is not yet known." An elder responded to him. Killian rolled his eyes as he tried to make sense out of the information that was just relayed to him.

He thought for a while before wearing a smirk on his face.
He turned to the guards and ordered them;
"Bring me Sara at all costs. I must beat Killian to it this time, and I will make her my woman, right in front of Killian."

"Father, are you sure about this?" A perturbed Lydia asked as she stared at the lingeries she was putting on. Her father had ordered the maids to get them for her, and it looked perfect on her, revealing all her shape and the necessary parts of her body.
"Yes. To make the Alpha yours, we have to take some drastic measures. Don't worry, I have replaced all the guards with my men, so you won't have any difficulty in entering the house." Jared said to Lydia, making her smile so widely. She sat in front of the mirror and applied some makeup. Jared stood behind her, grabbed a comb and brushed her hair.
"You look so much like your mother, her hair was as dark and long as yours." Jared muttered, recalling memories of the sweet nights with his lovely wife. It's a pity, good things don't last long.
"Really? That's good to hear. Even though I can't recall any memory of her, it's a relief to hear that we both look alike." Lydia said happily.
Clara walked in, greeted Jared, and settled beside Lydia. She helped her prepare, and whispered some words into her ears.
"This is the most important day of your life, don't ruin it." Clara said, while Lydia smiled.
"I know right. Killian is going to be mine, and will only be mine!" Lydia beamed with smiles, fantasizing on how fantastic her life is going to be in Killian's house.
Her childhood dream of getting married to Killian is about to come true, and she really can't wait for the moment she would lie in bed next to her.
Suddenly, her countenance changed as her face suddenly went sour, as if she had remembered something out of a sudden.
Jared noticed her change in expression and instantly asked her about it.
"The moon priestess. What if she doesn't agree to announce us as mates? That will be
a huge disgrace." Lydia asked, her eyes resting on her father's lips.
Jared gave her a reassuring smile, he had thought about it and had a very solid solution at hand.
"You don't need to worry. Just make sure everyone sees you on the bed with the Alpha, leave everything else to me. The moon priestess will have no choice but to obey me!"
