The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 73
"It's not your fault Killian, don't blame yourself for all the things that happened." Killian's wolf said to him. He took a deep sigh, burying his head in his arms.
"It's my fault, I shouldn't have allowed her to be locked up. If I had protected her enough, she would probably still be by my side." He mumbled. He glanced around Sara's room, everything still smelled of her, and he could see her sitting pretty on the bed in his memories.
He took one of her clothes and sniffed at Sara's scent that still lingered on the cloth. His heart raced, and he longed for Sara even more.
Just as he was immersed in his fantasies, a knock landed on the door, bringing him back to reality.
"Who is it?" Killian asked, folding back the cloth into the closet.
"My Alpha, there's something important for you to see." A guard said to him. Killian threw a sharp glance at the door, wondering what could be so important that needed his attention very early in the morning. It was barely six in the morning.
He opened the door, staring curiously at the guard.
"And what's that?" He asked, his brows furrowing in curiosity.
"It's Sara..." the guard replied. Killian's eyes widened and his heart skipped a beat. He took some steps forward, held the guards hands and stared straight into his eyes. "What...did you say?" He stuttered, his eyes bulging out of their sockets.
"I am afraid you have to see it for yourself, my Alpha." The guard replied.
"Where is she?" Killian roared and the guard hurriedly bowed his head.
"In front of the pack's house my Alpha." Said the guard. Killian threw off the guard's arms and ran straight to the pack's house, at a great speed that he didn't realize that he had stepped on a nail and his foot was bleeding.
"Where's she? Where's Sara?" He screamed as soon as he got to the pack house. All the elders had assembled, and they all gazed silently at Killian.
Killian felt lost with the way they looked at him in silence. His heart bled for answers yet all they could reply to him with was silence.
"Where's Sara?" He yelled out once again, his eyeballs reddened, and he exuded a cold aura. This time, one of the elders moved forward and sighed.
"Last night, we found a dead body which we recognized to belong to Sara..." The elder paused to register Killian's shocking expression.
"I know it hurts but..."
"That's not true." Killian uttered, taking a few steps backwards.
"I know it's hard to believe, but that's what happened. We all saw her body when..."

"I said it's not possible!" Killian fired, sweeping all the elders off their feet. His eyes reddened even more and his breathing could be heard by everyone in the room.
"Sara is alive. She can't be dead. I can feel her, I can still feel our mate bond, so you guys are wrong!" Killian screamed at them.
The elder took a deep breath and walked towards Killian. He placed his hand on Killian's shoulder and said to him;
"I understand you, but we know that the mate bond can fluctuate. Besides, her dead body is here, right in the ancestral room."
Killian flung his gaze at the elder, flung it back at the elders, darting his eyeballs sideways. He ran out of the pack house and headed straight to the ancestral room.
He could feel his legs growing tired as he ran to the ancestral room. Sweating and panting hard, he arrived at the ancestral room.
He suddenly lowered his pace and slowly walked into the room, his heart racing with the fear that the elder's words might be true.
He came to a halt when he saw a body lying on the ancestral rock, fully covered with a white clothing.
He panted heavily, summoned every bit of courage in him and slowly approached the body. Getting there, he took a deep breath and gently pulled the clothes off the body.
His entire world shattered when the face of the body was revealed to be Sara's, he staggered backwards and tears that threatened to pour from around his eyelids.
He shook his head nervously, with his two hands on his ears.
"It's not possible...no...no. It isn't!" He yelled out, with cold tears crawling down his cheeks. He crashed to his knees, hitting his hand on the rock that he began to bleed. "Calm down Killian. This is not you, I can still feel her, she is probably still alive." His wolf tried to calm him down, but he was already immersed in pain.
"It's my fault. I ought to have protected you more, I watched you slip off my arms, I caused your death." He cried.
"C'mon man." His wolf mumbled.
Killian grabbed the body's arm, placing it above his head. His blood came in contact with the body and slowly dripped down to the body's chest. As he raised the body's head to his chest, his blood dropped on the body's face, and a sudden reaction began to occur. Killian was so indulged in pain that he didn't realize what was happening. "Killian! Killian! Look at what's happening." His wolf cried, catching Killian's attention. He noticed some things happening on the body, and he slowly pulled the body away from his chest. To his surprise, he saw the face of the body falling off, and slowly replaced by a new one.
He hurriedly stood up, pushing the body away from him. He stared at the body in shock, wondering what was happening.
After about a minute, the reaction stopped and the body was with a new face. Killian's jaw dropped, he clenched his fists tightly as he realized that he had been fooled.
Suddenly, a figure dashed into the room, aiming at Killian's throat with a knife. Killian noticed the person and swiftly dodged the attack. He gave the attacker a blow and the person fell to the ground. The mask the person wore also fell to the ground, revealing her face.
"Violet?!"
