The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate -
Chapter 77
Sara flung around just to see two ladies standing behind her, one was dressed in black, with a dark veil tied around her face, while the other stared at her with love, and
compassion.
The lady clubbed in black groaned as blood gushed out of her belly, she crashed to the wet ground, her dark red blood mixing with the rain water that flowed.
"My lady." Violet ran to Sara, hugged her as tears pumped down her eyes forcefully. She wrapped her hands around her tightly as she sobbed. Sara opened her mouth, but the words couldn't get past her throat. All these while, she had thought Violet was no more, she had thought she was the cause of Violet's death, and had blamed herself for it.
"I thought you were dead, I thought I wouldn't have a master to serve anymore, but thanks to heaven, you are alive." Violet cried. Sara lifted her hand slowly and patted Violet's back, she rolled her eyes to the dying lady that groaned softly.
"Violet, who is she?" Sara asked her. Violet wiped her tears, withdrew herself from Sara's embrace, and stared at the lady.
"I don't know her. I saw that she was trying to harm you from behind, so I was quick to take action." Violet replied to her. Killian sighed and walked towards the lady. He bent beside her, placed his hand at the back of her head and ripped off her veil. Everyone's face lit up in shock, except Violet who had a mix of shock and anger plastered on her face.
She growled, tightening her fists and her eyes reddened like a hot steel dipped inside a pit of fire.
"Lydia! How come it's you? Thank heavens, I was about to replace you and avenge my lady but you brought yourself here." Violet fumed as she angrily pounced on Lydia. Sara was quick to pull her back, she nodded at her, and gave her a signal to calm down. Violet understood the sign, and she reluctantly obeyed Sara, stomping her feet hard on the ground in the process.
"Lydia, why did you come back? Didn't I already lighten your sentence and simply banish you from the pack? What else could you have wanted? Sara's live?" Killian asked furiously. His jaw tightened, as he slammed his fist into another.
"It's...her..." Lydia stuttered, pointing her bloody fingers at Sara. Her weak voice struggled to get past her throat. Barely inaudible, all of them had to go on their knees so they could hear her clearly.
"My only sin was...falling in love with... Killian. I was determined to get you...no matter what..."
"I did everything possible...but she ruined everything when she suddenly appeared... she made me lose everything I once had, everything that was very dear to me...above all, the father whom I thought loved and cared for me was only using me for his own ambitions." She coughed hard with tears streaming down her cheeks without restriction, which was accompanied by thick blood that drooled down her jaw. Her chest tightened, her bone stiffened and she gasped for air. She glanced at Killian weakly, and hot tears gushed down even more.
"The person I trusted the most...used me to hurt the person I loved the most, and now... I am...I don't want to die, I really don't want to die...I am scared." She mumbled, raising her shaky hand as she reached for Killian's jaw. Killian glanced at Sara who slowly turned her eyes away, he bit his lower lip and sighed.
"I am sorry, Lydia. You should have given up soon enough, not all battles can be won, a real man knows when to fight and when to retreat." Killian paused, swallowing the hard phlegm that had obstructed his throat.
"Is there anything I can help you with? Maybe a wish or something." He asked her, throwing her a reassuring gaze.
"My only wish is... for you to know how much I love you, that you finally notice someone who had waited on you all these years, seeking nothing but your love and attention."
"It's my fault that I can't get rid of my obsession, and I have no regrets. But Killian... love, I...love you." She let out a sharp cry, held her chest tightly as she panted, her eyeballs widened, threatening to pop out of their sockets, her chest pulsated as she breathed heavily. She threw a last glance at Killian, groaning in pain as the last bit of her soul ebbed out of her body. The rain poured aggressively, Killian took a deep sigh, and stared at Sara.
"It was her father that framed you, he disguised as me, poisoned me and carried out the order that you should be executed. Lydia was just being used, can you please forgive her and allow her to be buried in the pack?" Killian asked, shielding her from the rain with his muscular body.
Sara smiled and nodded her head.
"It's fine. As long as we are both alive and well, every other thing doesn't matter." Sara replied, and almost immediately, some thundering footsteps approached them. Killian rose to take a look and saw some guards marching towards them. He smiled, knowing that they must have sensed that he was in danger and had come looking from him.
The guards were led by an elder, Killian called out to the elder who instantly rushed to meet him.
"My Alpha. The moon priestess hinted us that you were in danger, so we came looking for you, what are you doing here in this heavy rain?" The elder screamed as he moved closer to him.
He suddenly stopped when he saw a familiar figure standing beside Killian.
"Violet, you are alive! We all thought you died, we did..." he suddenly froze as he set his eyes on Sara, his eyes widening in disbelief. He ran his hand across his face three
times, pinching himself to check if he was dreaming. Realizing all that was happening was real, he went on his knees and cried;
"My Luna!"
