The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 101
Chapter 101
“Stay here,” Pippa pushed me down. “I’ll take the kindling to the bonfire. Tell them you are resting, okay?”
“Thank you.” I mumbled. The pain was getting worse. I felt faint. “Please don’t tell anyone about
this.”
Pippa smiled at me, a slight frown of concern between her brows. “I won’t. I’ll be back, I promise.”
Lying there in the bushes, I heard voices, male and female, approaching. The other covens have arrived.
I prayed to the Moon Goddess to spare Amaris. To somehow let him know that I was coming to him. My presence would strengthen his ability to heal.
To wait for dark would be the best. Tasha’s tracking skills were my only hope of reaching the werewolf realm.
Fortunately for me, the other covens kept Quindin busy, so my absence went unnoticed for the time being. Dusk settled down around me. Birds chirped and chattered above me in the trees, settling in for the night. Soon the bonfires would light up the sky and their ceremony would begin. I wanted to be well on my way before then.
The pain in my side faded to a dull throb, making my breathing easier. Getting impatient waiting for Pippa, hoping she wouldn’t double–cross me. I concentrated on my werewolf hearing, listening for Quindin’s voice to replace out whether he was looking for me. All I heard was laughter and music. I scented Pippa before I saw her.
She hurried to my side with something wrapped in a cloth. “Brought you some food and drink.” She kept her voice low. “You’ll have to move now. Quindin will ask for you soon. I only wished you wouldn’t leave, Raine.” She hugged me tightly.
“Pippa, I have to. Come with me?” I clutched her hand in mine. She hesitated, considering, but I sensed her fear. Knowing what Quindin would do to her if he caught up with us. “I know you don’t want to be here with him.”
“I don’t. But I have no choice, Raine. My father sold me to him.” Her blue eyes misted over.
Proving my point that females are just objects to sell or give away like cattle. It made my temper flare to new heights.
“You have your own mind, Pippa, Quindin doesn’t own you.” I forced her to look at me. “Set yourself free.” Besides, I might need her help.
“We have to hurry,” she said, getting up and glancing over her shoulder. “How fast can you run?”
I still felt some pain in my side, but I pushed it down. “As fast as possible. Hope you can keep up.”
Chapter 101
She was lithe and fast, weaving through the trees like a shadow. I followed right on her heels, fervently wishing I could transform into my faster wolf. Pippa spotted a stream and immediately. stopped, drinking thirstily, using her hands to scoop up the water. I did the same, relishing the refreshing coldness running down my throat.
It was getting dark fast and getting colder. I saw Pippa shiver. Being a werewolf made me resistant to the cold. But Pippa didn’t have the same advantage.
“You’re getting cold. We should replace a place to shelter.” I regretted my decision to take her along. But what else was I supposed to do? If Quindin knew she’d helped me to escape, he would have
killed her.
“We should follow the stream. Tasha piped up in my head. I trusted her instincts.
“Where does this stream lead to, Pippa?”
“If we follow it upstream, we will get to the caves. It borders on the Fac Realm.” She looked hesitant. “Dwarves live there.”
Pippa’s magic remained unknown to me, but I trusted in the strength of my own and the pup’s abilities to protect us from whatever lay ahead. Besides, how dangerous can a bunch of dwarves be?
“Let’s go.” I held my hand out for her to take and together we ran next to the stream until the footpath narrowed, became steeper and rocky.
As we climbed higher, the orange hue from the bonfires were barely visible through the treetops. We were halfway up the mountain when I spotted the griffin circling above us. Had Quindin. noticed our disappearance and sent his pets to bring us back?

“Pippa!” I shouted out a warning when the creature came sweeping down towards us.
Pippa yelped in fright. I watched helplessly as her foot slipped on the rocks above me. But just as she was about to fall, a hand grabbed her and pulled her up to the ledge.
The griffin veered off but came at me screeching, its beak wide open and talons outstretched to grab me. I snapped my eyes shut, waiting for the creature to grab me. There was no escaping it because I was clinging to the rocks like a limpet.
A gale force wind whipped my hair about my face. My eyes flew open in surprise to see the giant creature blown away like a dandelion careening away from me. When I lifted my head, I saw it was Pippa with her hands held out. She was controlling the wind.
I climbed up the ledge. Next to Pippa, a group of fierce–looking dwarves dressed as warriors. gathered. They carried an assortment of arms. Pippa embraced me and I felt her body shake against mine.
“Raine, I was so scared,” she said.

Chapter 101
“You saved my life.” Thank goodness she could use her magic. “That was so brave of you.”
A burly dwarf with a bushy beard cleared his throat. “Ahem! Sorry to interrupt your girly moment, but who the are you, and why are you trespassing on our territory?”
“They’re witches!” shouted another angry dwarf. “They mean trouble!” A grunt of agreement came from the others. I was afraid they’d throw us off the cliff.
“No, no, we don’t mean any trouble. Please, we need to get away from the High Magus.” I sank down on my knees to their level.
“You’re pretty for a witch.” The leader said. He tugged at a strand of my hair. “The Magus, eh? Can’t stand that prick.”
I was glad to know we had something in common.
Pippa fidgeted with her hands. “Help us. We have to hurry.” She kept looking over her shoulder. “If he replaces us, he’ll kill us. Or just me, actually. Raine is his daughter.”
“Really? Now that is interesting…” the bearded dwarf looked at me with a steely glint in his didn’t trust his crafty expression. Have I escaped just to become a prisoner again?
