The Alpha King’s Virgin by Charmeleon Chapter 100
Chapter 100
RAINE
Locking myself in my room proved useless, because Quindin just opened a portal and came right
- in.
“If you’ve come here to punish me, get it over with.” I couldn’t give a damn if he hurt me. My fists clenched tightly as rage coursed through my body.
“On the contrary.” He made himself comfortable on my bed. “The pup is growing stronger. You should be very careful with your emotions, Raine. I wouldn’t want to subdue you.” Whatever that
meant.
“She asked for it. If I could transform, I would’ve ripped her throat out.” I went to the window to get away from him.
“I’ll have her stay away from you.” He sounded strangely amused.
“Good!” As I turned around, Quindin stood in front of me. “I have no desire to be an acolyte and I
am no one’s servant.”
“You’ve made that clear,” he said with a wry smile.
“One more thing… did you promise me to Athan?” I snapped at him, hearing Tasha growl in my head and my canines elongated. The mere thought of that vampire’s touch had my skin crawling with disgust.
He seemed momentarily taken aback. “It was never my intention.”
“But you told him he could have me after I had the baby?” Who the hell did he think he was? I was not his to give away
“We had an understanding, yes. But I changed my mind.” He stroked his beard thoughtfully, unfazed by my fiery stare.
I barked out a harsh laugh. “So gracious of you!”
“You are far too valuable for Athan to have.” He reached out to touch my face. I recoiled from his touch.
“So what does that mean? Are you going to sell me off to the highest bidder?” Once again, I am nothing but an object to be used and discarded or fought over by the men in my life.
“Well, there’s an idea…” he chuckled. “Raine, come on now. Stop throwing a tantrum and join us in getting ready for the ceremony tonight.”
That made me even more livid. “A tantrum? Do you think that is what this is?”

He sighed and closed his eyes for a second. “Yes, exactly. Your emotions are out of control. I’m sure it’s because of your pregnancy. You’ll feel better once you’ve eaten something.”
Yes, preferably Willa’s heart or better, Quindin’s.
I unlocked the door and followed him downstairs to outside, where the rest of the witches waited
for us.
Willa gave me a wide berth. Good, I wanted her scared of me. Pippa smiled and waved, gestured for me to sit next to her on the grass. The witches formed a circle with Quindin in the middle.
Baskets overflowed with bread, baked goods, and a cornucopia of fruits and vegetables. All the different hues of red, orange, yellow and green were a feast for the eyes.
Bunches of flowers surrounded us, their various fragrances perfuming the air. I noticed there were different colored crystals sparkling on the grass.
Pippa offered me a shiny red apple. “Here. To health and abundance.”
I thanked her and bit into the tender flesh. It tasted sweet with a slight tang to it.
“We’re celebrating the harvest by having a feast. And tonight the other covens will join us. This is my favorite celebration of the year.” Pippa said. She put a crown of flowers on my head. “Beautiful.”
I smiled back at her. Quindin’s thoughtful look caught my eye, and I glanced away quickly.
“How many covens?” I was curious. This could be my chance.
“Oh, all of them.” Pippa said, giggling excitedly. “We’ll have bonfires and dancing. You’ll see, it’s amazing.”
I ate and drank the honeyed ale, listening to Pippa’s chattering, telling me all about the harvest ceremony. What intrigued me more was that there were other people coming and I could escape unnoticed. I was prepared to take my chances out in the forest, depending direction.

Quindin watched me intently, and that made me worry. He seemed to know what went on in my head. I didn’t like it one bit.
So I chatted with the other witches, ignoring Willa completely, laughed and joked with them. A few of them were tipsy from the fruit wine. Even Joyce seemed more relaxed. Later on, Quindin took less notice of me, to my relief.
The late afternoon sun hung low between the trees when the witches began gathering the remnants of the feast. I went with Pippa and others to gather firewood, All the time, I scanned the area, looking for the best path to take when I made my move.
We were some distance away from the rest, Pippa and I, when I doubled over in pain. I pushed one

hand in my mouth to stop the scream and the other into my side. It was as if someone had stabbed a knife into my ribs.
“Raine! What’s wrong?” Pippa bent over me. “Is something wrong with the baby?”
She was about to call for help when I stopped her. I knew exactly what had happened. Amaris was hurt, possibly dying! I grabbed her arm, pulling her down to me.
“Pippa, you must help me…” I gasped from the excruciating pain. “Oh…”
“Let me call Quindin!” She wanted to run off, but I gripped her.
“No! No, listen.” My breath came in harsh pants. “Please, you must help me escape. Amaris needs me. He’s hurt. Oh, Pippa, I can’t bear it! I have to go to him.” I cried.
“But you reje – you
-you didn’t reject him?” she whispered, glancing back over her shoulder. She helped me behind some bushes. “How do you know he’s injured?”
“It’s the mate bond. We feel each other’s pain, especially if it’s bad.” I moaned, “And this is bad.” Hopefully I’ve gained enough sympathy from Pippa for her to help me, because the Goddess knew, I need all the help I could get. Amaris needed me.
