The Alpha’s Feisty Mate
Chapter 26: Secrets revealed

Isabella POV

I looked at the rogue who was semi conscious and cuffed to the tree. It’s time to get some answers from this a*****e.

“Wake up.” I yelled while kicking his leg.

The rogue let out a grunt at the impact and raised his head to look at me. A smirk grew on his face when his eyes met mine. I think I better change that attitude of his, I thought.

I slowly slid out one of my daggers from my leg holster and looked at the blade like it’s the most interesting thing I’ve ever seen. I held a calm, cool and collected tone when I said “Your going to answer some questions.” I didn’t look at the rogue while I spoke, I continued to look over my blade.

“Like f**k Princess.” He said with a dry raspy chuckle.

Well that was a mistake, I thought as I stabbed the dagger into his left shoulder. He let out a loud cry of pain and I smiled wickedly at his agony before pulling the dagger out of his flesh.

“Why don’t we try this again. Shall we? Why was your scent masked?” I asked with a sickeningly sweet voice.

He didn’t answer and I made the motion to stab him in the right shoulder.

“Wait!” He yelled, I stopped my movement and looked him in the eyes with a silent threat daring him not to answer me.

“We were ordered to attack you, we masked our scent so we could catch you off guard.” He said while breathing heavily with pain. I was confused? Why attack me? Who wanted to attack me? Now I have more questions.

“Why attack me?” I asked confused. The rogue had a surprised look on his face, like he was surprised I didn’t know already.

“How do you not know?” He asked confused.

“Know what?” I asked with frustration in my voice now.

“The rogue Alpha wants you.” He said before continuing. “All the attacks have been attempts to kidnap you.” He told me while assessing my reaction.

“Why would the rogue Alpha want me?”

“You really don’t know anything?” He asked shaking his head and letting out a dry raspy chuckle.

“I swear to god, start talking or I’ll slit your throat.” I threatened him with so much venom in my voice.

“Ok, ok, he wants you as his mate. You will produce a strong heir, given your from the royal bloodline.” He said.

“Royal bloodline?” I laughed. “Umm. I think your Alpha is on crack, I’m not royal.” I said while shaking my head. The rogue looked at me even more confused.

“Your father never told you?” He asked.

“Listen I’m starting to lose my patience with your stories. You need to start telling me something believable or your going to die a slow death.” I practically spat at him.

“I’m not lying princess. You and you brother are the last two werewolves alive with royal b***d.” He said with a serious tone. I just shook my head, he’s messing with me. Time to move to my next question before I kill this a*****e.

“Where’s Derek?” I asked. He paused watching my face for a moment before answering.

“He’s the one in charge of the group of rogues attempting to kidnap you today. He’s at our camp five miles North of here, waiting for us to return with you.”

My excitement started to grow. He’s only five miles away from here? I’m finally going to get my chance at killing him.

“How many more rogues are with him?” I asked.

“Four more rogues plus Derek.” He replied. I have one last question.

“How did you know I would be here?” I asked.

“No idea, the Alpha told us to come here and I complied, I didn’t ask any questions.” He replied.

“Thank you.” I said, looking him in the eyes as I slit his throat and watching as the life bleed from his body.

So many questions were running through my mind. If he was telling the truth, all those attacks were because of me. So many lives were lost because of me. My father, did he die because of me too? I shook my head. I can’t think about this now, I need to accomplish my task at hand, then I can get answers to all these questions.

I wiped my dagger on my pants to clean the b***d before shoving it into my boot. If I’m going to be facing five rogues, I’m going to need the element of surprise for my attack.

I removed the handcuffs from the dead rogue and placed them back in my backpack.

I decided to run the five miles on foot. I’m thinking my daggers might come in handing to take out a few rogues before I shift to my wolf and finish them off.

My adrenaline was pumping, pure rage running through my veins. I’ve never felt stronger and more sure of my actions in my life. I have zero regrets. I need this revenge so that I can move on with my life.

I moved fast through the thick forest. After about four miles I slowed down, moving with more caution since I should be getting closer, if the rogue was telling the truth.

They likely won’t have any scent so I will be relying on my ears and eyes to replace them.

I will be at a disadvantage when I replace them, they can pick up my scent if I’m not careful. I’ll have to be attentive to the wind direction, make sure it doesn’t carry my scent right to their noses.

As I moved further North I started to smell smoke, the closer I got to the smoke I started hearing the crackling of a fire and the faint sound of voices. I’m getting close. I need to get eyes on them and make sure the rogue I killed wasn’t lying to me about numbers.

I climbed a tree when I was approximately 30 feet from their camp.

Once I was hidden high in the tree, I could see the campfire and three rogues sitting around. None of them were Derek. Damn it, he better be here.

I stayed in the tree watching for a while, I can’t wait to long because they are going to start getting suspicious when their buddies don’t come back with me.

As I wait in the tree a fourth rogue came into sight. I immediately recognize him, Derek! My heart rate sped up and my b***d started to boil.

Bri was growling in my head wanting to go rip his head off.

‘Don’t worry Bri, we will. He’s a dead man.’ I tell her.

I waiting a good half an hour in the tree and never saw the fifth rogue. I can see Derek pacing, looking anxious. I assume they are starting to wonder where their friends are.

I need to move. I climb down the tree being as careful as possible not to make any noise.

I move around the camp widely and approach from the West side. I figured if the fifth rogue was keeping guard he would likely be to the south of the camp facing the direction that their friends are expect to return from. I’m going to take him out first since he will be easier by himself.

I start moving East from my location and I spot the fifth rogue. I was right, he was keeping guard towards the South.

I quietly pulled out my dagger and approach him from begin, before he even knew what was happening I slit his throat. He clutched his neck with his hands and I heard gurgling coming from his throat. I held onto his body and slowly lowered him to ground so not to make any loud noises.

I turned to head into the camp but stopped when I felt a sharp sting on my neck. I moved my hand up and pulled a dart from my skin.

Oh s**t. I thought as darkness took over and I fell to the ground.

Derek POV

We were waiting at the camp for our three rogue warriors to come back with Isabella. I thought they would of been back by now, I was starting to get worried that something happened.

Maybe I should of sent more men with them to make sure the job got done. Too late now. Hopefully it just took them a little bit longer to subdue her.

Three of my men were seated by the fire waiting and the fifth was keeping watch towards the South.

I couldn’t relax. I had a bad feeling and I couldn’t stop pacing. Man, if I don’t bring her back, Alpha Ryan will have my head.

I decide to check with the rogue keeping guard to the south, see if he’s seen or heard anything.

As I’m moving towards him I spot her, Isabella! She’s standing behind the guard and before I can even react, she slit his throat. I was shocked. She’s savage.

I reacted quickly pulling out my gun that I loaded with darts coated in wolfbane. I waited till she turned around and when I had the perfect shot, I took it. The dart landed on her neck. I watched as she pulled the dart from her skin before she fell unconscious to the ground.

I smirked as I stood over her feeling pretty damn satisfied. Man she’s a pretty little b***h. I wouldn’t replace getting a little alone time with her. My thoughts were interrupted as the other three rogues ran up to me.

“I need you guys to tie her up. She’s got wolfbane in her system so she won’t be able to shift and she will be unconscious for a couple of hours.” I told my men who were just now realizing what happened.

“You.” I point to one of the rogues. “carry him.” I point to the rogue Isabella killed. Thinking I don’t want to leaving a scene behind.

I sprayed Isabella with my scent masking spray incase anyone one comes looking for her. They won’t be able to pickup any of our scents past this point.

One of my men threw a tied up Isabella over his shoulder and another carried the dead rogue.

We made our way out of the forest, it took us about a half an hour before we reached the dirt road where our SUV was waiting. We put the dead rogue in the truck and all piled into the SUV, sandwiching Isabella between two of the rogues in the backseat. I sat in the passenger seat.

“Let’s get out of here.” I said before we started driving down the dirt road. It’s going to be a couple hour ride before we reach our territory.
