The Alpha’s Feisty Mate -
Chapter 54: The cabin in the Woods
Alpha Drake POV
I slowly started to regain consciousness, I opened my eyes and looked around my room, my head was pounding and memories of what happened slowly started to come back to me. Isabella drugged me!
I leaped out of bed in panic and ran to the washroom to see if she was there, but she wasn’t, she was gone.
I looked at my alarm clock and saw that it was 5:00am, I had been unconscious for hours. This is not good.
I tried talking to Devon, but he was still a bit groggy from the wolfbane.
Isabella, what have you done now. She f*****g poisoned me and left on her own. I was going crazy with panic and rage. I swear to the Goddess if the Rogue Alpha hurts her, I will kill him.
I stormed out of my room, heading for the main floor. I mind-linked both Jared and Erik to meet me outside.
Once I reached the main floor, I didn’t have to wait long before my Beta and Gamma showed up.
“What happened? Do you have anymore information on Clair’s whereabouts?” Jared asked sounding hopeful.
“No, Isabella’s gone.” I spat out angrily.
“What? Where did she go?” Erik asked concerned.
“She was holding information back regarding Clair, I know it. I caught her trying to leave the territory in the middle of the night. She f*****g poisoned me with wolfbane and left. I was unconscious till a few minutes ago.” I said angrily. Both Jared and Erik went wide eyed at my words.
“Holy s**t, what do we do?” Jared asked, looking concerned, with panic clear in his eyes.
“f**k, I don’t even know where to start. Her scent was masked when I caught her at the border last night, so we won’t be able to track her. I don’t know where to start.” I said, sounding defeated while pacing the floor trying to think of a plan
I was brought out of my thoughts when the front door of the pack house flew open. My eyes flew to the door, hopeful that it would be Isabella, but it wasn’t.
It was Clair, she stood at the door trying to catch her breath. She looked panicked and her hands were restrained with handcuffs.
I watched Jared run over to her and wrap his arms around her in a tight hug.
“Oh my goddess Clair, your ok, I was so worried.” Jared said, tears falling from his eyes. I could see the relief in his face that his mate was home and safe.
It crushed my heart at the realization that Isabella must of surrendered herself, in exchange for Clair’s release.
I was angry, hurt and concerned. My emotions were out of control. I need to get her back, I won’t rest until I do.
I’m pissed that she did what she did and even poisoned me, but I still love her. We will deal with that once I bring her home and she’s safe.
I didn’t notice that Erik had ran off to get a cuff key. When I snapped out of my thoughts, Erik was removing the cuffs from Clair’s wrists.
Jared wasn’t letting her go, almost like he was worried he would lose her again if he did.
Clair seemed relieved to see Jared, but she was sobbing uncontrollably. I could see the guilt in her eyes, that Isabella had to surrender herself for Clair’s freedom.
“Clair, let’s go to my office. I need you to tell us everything you know.” I said, trying to keep my voice calm.
“Yes, Alpha.” She said softly in between sobs.
We all walked to my office, I was really hope that Clair would have some information that would help me replace Isabella.
As we reached my office, I opened the door and everyone walked in.
Jared and Clair sat on the couch together, Jared was still holding onto Clair. Erik sat in front of my desk and I sat at my usual spot, behind it.
“The Rogue Alpha has Isabella, I know where they are, we need to go get her.” Clair blurted out immediately.
“Where is she?” I asked.
“One hour East of here. He’s holding her in an abandoned cabin.” Clair replied.
“How many rogues did you see?” I asked,
Clair.
“I saw five rogues. I think that was all of them.” She replied, while frowning.
“Did he hurt her?” I asked, with concerned.
“Not before I left, she made me leave Alpha. I didn’t want to, but she commanded me.” Clair replied, while crying. I watched as Jared held her, trying to comfort her, but it wasn’t working. I could see how fearful Clair was for her best friend.
“It’s not your fault Clair, I know how Isabella can be, she always has to do everything on her own, she’s so stubborn.” I said, with irritation clear in my words.
“Alpha there’s one more thing.” Clair said looking concerned before she continued. “Jill was the one who drugged me. She’s working with the Rogue Alpha.” Clair said, while frowning. I heard both Erik and Jared gasp in shock at her words.
I was in complete shock myself. Jill betrayed me? She’s working with the Rogue Alpha. What the hell is going on. She is going to pay deeply for this, mark my words.
“Erik, send a couple warriors to Jill’s room. I want her brought to the dungeon.” I spat out the command angrily.
“Right away.” Erik replied and I watch his eyes glaze over, I knew he was mind-linking someone.
“Jared, I want ten warriors ready to go in fifteen minutes. We are going to that cabin and bringing Isabella home.” I orderedJared.
“Yes Alpha.” He replied, before his eyes also glazed over.
I stood from my chair and was about to walk out of my office.
“Boss, I just heard back from the warriors, Jill isn’t in her room, and hasn’t been seen all day.” Erik said causing me to stop in my tracks. Damn it, she must of took off. She’s going to pay when I replace her.
“Make sure they search the territory incase she’s hiding.” I replied to him, with frustration as I walked out of my office.
I went up to my room and changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, knowing it would be easier to carry after I shift into my wolf.
Once I was dressed, I quickly made my way downstairs and out the front doors.
The warriors had arrived and were all gathered waiting for my instructions.
“Jared, you stay back with Clair, take care of pack business for me.” I instructed my Beta.
“Yes Alpha.” He replied with a nod.
“Listen up warriors, Isabella has been taken. We believe that she is being held in a cabin, approximately one hour East of here. We are going to rescue her. There’s believed to be five rogues keeping her captive.” I said and I heard multiple gasps and whispers from the crowd.
“Shift, let’s head out.” I commanded while I removed my clothes and shifted into my wolf.
Once everyone was ready, I took off running East leading the way for everyone to follow.
I ran hard, I could see the others falling behind, but I couldn’t slow down, I needed to get there before anything happened to her.
Goddess, keep her safe for me. I silently prayed.
After almost an hour, I saw a building in the distance and as we got closer, I noticed that it was an old rundown cabin. My anxiety was building, this is it, this is where he’s holding her.
‘Be alert. It’s up ahead.’ I mind-linked Erik and the warriors that were with me.
I slowed down and started sniffing out the area, but I couldn’t pick up anyones scent. They must of masked themselves, I thought to myself.
We approached slowly, trying to keep our presence undetected.
‘I want three of you, to move in from the North and three more, from the south.’ I instructed through the mind-link and watched as some of the warriors broke off.
We continued approaching until I reach the building. It was a small, one room cabin, if they are in there, they won’t be able to hide.
I slowly walked up to a broken window and peeked inside. The cabin was empty, I could see the whole room clearly, the only furniture was a wooden chair in the middle of the room.
f**k, they left before we got here. Panic set in again, where did they take her? How the hell am I going to replace her, we can’t even track her scent.
I shifted back into my human form and walked back a few feet to grab the shorts I had dropped on the ground.
Once everyone was shifted and the area was cleared, we started searching the area for any clues left behind.
A warrior ran up to me holding a syringe.
“I found this in the grass, Alpha.” He said and I took the syringe from him, the smell of wolfbane immediately hit my nose.
Damn it, she was drugged. My anger was boiling, I’m going to kill the Rogue Alpha, he better not hurt her.
“Boss, we’ve searched inside and out, there’s nothing useful. We couldn’t pickup up any scents or tracks. What do we do now?” Erik asked looking concerned.
What are we going to do now, I thought to myself.
“Let’s head back to the pack house, I need to call the other local Alpha’s and come up with a plan.” I replied with frustration clear in my voice.
The warriors, Erik and I shifted back to our wolves and ran back towards the pack house.
After an hour, we finally made, I shifted to my human form and put on my shorts, before making my way to my office.
I was out of breath, but the adrenaline kept me going, there’s no time to waste. I need to replace her fast.
I first called Alpha Declan, Isabella’s brother. I could hear the worry in his voice when I told him what happened.
He had a good point when he mentioned that the last time, when Derek had kidnapped Isabella, the rogues had crashed their vehicle only an hour away from the B***d Moon Pack. It’s likely the Rogue Alpha and his pack must be hiding out, closer to Alpha Declan’s territory.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where they are taking her, as we speak.
I told Alpha Declan that I would be heading towards his territory with a group of my warriors, we would search the general area around his pack. Alpha Declan gave me his consent to enter his territory and said that he would prepare his warriors to help with the search. I thanked him before hanging up.
I called the other local Alpha’s and gave them the incident details, I asked them for a heads up if they heard or saw anything. They all agreed to be In touch if any information was brought to their attention.
Goddess, help me replace my mate. She means everything to me, I can’t lose her.
