The Alpha’s Feisty Mate -
Chapter 67: Let’s have dinner and start fresh
Isabella POV
I can’t believe that she-wolf is Erik’s mate. She’s so irritating. Who does she think she is, talking to me like that?
I had to leave the cell half way through the interrogation, I wanted to strangle her. She was so defiant and disrespectful. I’m going to be the damn Luna of this pack and she called me blondie. I shook my head in disbelief at her nerve.
I was pacing upstairs on the main floor of the pack house, radiating with anger, just waiting for Alpha Drake and Erik to come back up.
“Wow, what happened, you look like your about to explode.” I heard Clair’s voice ask, from behind. I turned around, to replace her standing there watching me with wide eyes.
“Erik’s mate is a piece of work.” I spat at Clair.
“Oh, what did she say?” She asked, sounding concerned.
“She’s got an attitude, she disrespected me by calling me blondie and kept rolling her eyes at everything.” I replied, angrily.
“Oh, so she’s basically the rogue version of you?” She teased.
“Funny.” I said, giving her a sarcastic smirk. Clair chuckled.
“Listen it’s Erik’s mate, give her a chance. I’m sure there’s a good reason for why she’s a rogue. It’s uncommon for such a young she-wolf to be out there alone, maybe something bad happened to her.” Clair said, giving Trish the benefit of the doubt.
“Ya well, I asked her why she’s a rogue and her response was, that it wasn’t my damn business, so who knows why she’s a rogue. I don’t trust her.” I said angrily, while crossing my arms over my chest.
Our conversation was interrupted, when Alpha Drake came back up stairs.
“What are you guys talking about?” Alpha Drake asked.
“That rogue.” I replied shortly, with an angry tone.
“Isabella, give her a chance, it’s Erik’s mate and she’s been through a lot in her life. Do you think she became a rogue for the fun of it?” Alpha Drake questioned me, while giving me a pointed look.
“Who knows, she wouldn’t answer the damn question.” I spat back at him.
“Well if you hadn’t stormed off angrily, you would of gotten your answers. Her father was forcing her into becoming a chosen mate, to an Alpha of a neighbouring pack. She refused and very much like you, she kept control of her own life. She chose to give up her pack and became a rogue, all to keep her freedom.” He told me and I couldn’t help my face from softening at his words. Clair looked surprised and I could see the empathy in her eyes, for Trish.
“That’s so sad.” Clair said, in a low voice.
“Well, she still has an attitude.” I replied with a lower voice, not really knowing what to say, after what Alpha Drake had just revealed. I would of done the exactly same thing as her, if I had been in her shoes.
“Ya well, that’s coming from someone, with almost the exact same attitude.” Alpha Drake replied, while crossing his arms and furrowing his eyes at me. I glared back at him, but didn’t say anything. I didn’t know how to reply, he was right, I just didn’t want to admit it.
“She’s going to be part of this pack, so give her a chance, for Erik’s sake.” He told me sternly.
“I’ll try for Erik, but I’m not making any promises.” I replied defiantly, with my arms still crossed. I hate being wrong and I knew that, the way I acted with her initially, was a little harsh. I will try to get to know her moving forward.
I was brought out of my thoughts, when I watched an irritated Trish, appear from the door that led down to the dungeon. Erik was following close behind, looking at his mate like a love sick pup.
She paused when she saw me and glared.
“You, why does my mate have your stench all over him?” She spat out the question, as she stormed right up to my face. The nerve of that girl, so much for being nice.
“I hugged him, settle down firecracker. I already have a mate.” I spat right back at her, while stepping into her personal space.
I could see in my peripheral, that Clair was frozen in shock, just watching our interaction. Alpha Drake stepped closer to me and grabbed my upper arm in a warning. I ignored him and glared right back at Trish.
Erik ran up to us and grabbed ahold of Trish’s arm, pulling her back gently. Erik looked concerned at our argument and I could see a hint of guilt.
“Ok, enough.” Alpha Drake commanded sternly.
My eyes stayed glued on Trish, since his command has no affect on me. I watched as she fought his command for a few seconds, before she bowed her head to the side in submission. I felt smug, that’s right, I’m still the Alpha Female here, you better remember that, I thought to myself.
“Go show Trish to you room, it’s almost dinner time, when your done come back down and meet us in the dinner hall. We can all have dinner together and start fresh. Alpha Drake suggested, while sounding frustrated with my attitude.
“I think that would be good.” Erik said, sounding hopeful.
“My room is this way Trish, follow me.” Erik said softly, to her. She rolled her eyes, but complied and turned to follow Erik, up the stairs and towards his room.
I let out a frustrated sigh, when they were out of sight.
I turned to face Alpha Drake and Clair and they both looked at me with stern disapproving faces.
“What?” I asked, already know that they didn’t approve of the way I spoke to Trish.
“Isabella, your going to behave at dinner, or I swear to the moon goddess.” Alpha Drake threatened, while shaking his head in frustration.
“You swear what, Alpha?” I taunted him, with a smirk, knowing if his punishment is another spanking, I’m ok with that.
“What I was planning on doing to you later tonight, ain’t gonna happen.” He said firmly, crossing his arms over his chest. My jaw fell open. He wouldn’t, would he?
Clair’s eyes grew wide at his threat.
“So, your going to hold back s*x from me? You know that would be punishing yourself to, right?” I replied, while crossing my own arms and raising an eyebrow at him.
“Ok, I think I should leave, this got awkward real fast.” Clair said, as she ran off, shaking her head in disbelief.
“Yup, I promise you right now, if you don’t give Trish a fair chance tonight, I will be sleeping in your old room, until you do.” He said with a determined voice. Damn it, I’m suppose to be the tease, what game is he playing here?
“Fine.” I huffed, while turning around and storming towards our room.
“Good girl.” He said, sounding smug. I paused in my tracks and turned my head, I glared daggers at him, before I turned back around and stomped up the stairs.
I got to our room and I was so irritated, the nerve of that girl, accusing me of touching her mate. I mean, I did hug him, but that was it. Why was she acting like a crazy b***h.
‘Well, if I smelt another she-wolf all over Drake, I’d hunt them down and tear them apart.’ Bri pointed out in head.
‘Shut up, your suppose to be on my side.’ I spat back.
‘Think about it, you know I’m right. She was just being possessive about her mate, don’t be so hard on her.’ Bri said and I knew she was right. I had once again let my anger get the better of me.
‘I’ll try to be nicer at dinner. It’s hard, she’s a total hot head.’ I replied with a huff.
‘Ya, just like someone else I know.’ Bri chuckled, as she retreated to the back of my head. I rolled my eyes at her insinuation.
I freshened up in the washroom, before getting dressed in a pair of dark denim jeans and a maroon coloured of the shoulder top. I tied my hair up in a messy bun and slipped on my shoes.
Once I was ready, I left my room and headed downstairs towards the dinner hall.
When I walked into the dinner hall, I saw that I was the last one to arrive. Erik was seated beside Trish, Jared and Clair sat across from them and Alpha Drake sat at the head of the table. There was an open seat beside Clair, that was also closest to Alpha Drake.
I smiled to everyone at the table, as I approached and took my seat. I didn’t miss the glare Trish shot me, but i ignored it. I’m going to make a serious effort and try to behave.
If I don’t, I think I will literally die if I can’t spend the night with Alpha Drake, the s****l frustration has definitely made me more irritable. I hate how he’s figuring out all my weaknesses. I prefer his old punishments, they were much more enjoyable.
“So Trish, did you have a job in your old Pack?”Alpha Drake asked, breaking the awkward silence at the table.
“Ya, I was one of the instructors for our warrior training.” She replied, before taking a bite form when plate.
“Oh, Isabella and Clair over here, are in charge of the newly shifted teen training, maybe you can join them.” Also Drake suggested enthusiastically. My head snapped in his direct, shocked at his words. Why would he offer that? This dinner is hard enough on me.
“That’s ok, I prefer training with the adults, it’s much more challenging.” She replied, with a fake smile and I didn’t miss the jab she took at me. I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself from replying, I bit so hard, It drew b***d, at least I didn’t say anything.
I saw Alpha Drake looking at me, waiting for my reply, but it never came. His lips twitched upwards and I could almost make out, amusement in his eyes. Bastard, he knows how hard this is for me to stay quiet.
We continued eating dinner and I kept my mouth shut, focusing on my food. Everyone was making small talk and seemed to be getting along well with Trish. Erik couldn’t take his eyes off her. He really looked happy that he found his mate, I’m happy for him, I just wish she wasn’t such a she-devil.
After dinner, we all stood up and got ready to leave the dinner hall.
“Trish, we’re happy to have you in our pack. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.” Alpha Drake said, offering her a smile.
“Thank you Alpha, I appreciate the hospitality.” She replied, sounding sincere. She seemed to have warmed up to everyone, except for me, of course of course.
Whatever, I’m just happy I kept my mouth shut. Now, I can finally have some alone time, with my mate.
