The Alpha’s Feisty Mate -
Chapter 75: Let’s get out of here
Isabella POV
I woke up the next morning, feeling tired. I didn’t sleep well, I tossed and turned most of the night, missing Alpha Drake’s warm body close to mine. I sighed in frustration, as I got out of bed.
Today is the day, I have to focus, I can’t let anything distract me.
I made my way into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, before getting dressed in a pair of navy blue shorts and a black sports bra.
I tucked the note, that I wrote for Trish, inside my bra, before leaving the room and heading towards the training field. I was feeling anxious, I hope everything goes as planned.
When I arrived at the training field, everyone was already there. I saw Alpha Drake standing at the front of the group and his eyes were watching me intensely, with so much longing and a hint of regret. I had to look away, I couldn’t stand seeing him like that.
Erik and Trish were standing with Clair and Jared chatting, when I approached them.
“Good morning.” I grumbled out tiredly to the group.
“Morning.” They all replied in unison, before they went back to chatting amongst each other.
I didn’t noticed, when Alpha Drake walked up behind me.
“Can I talk to you for a minute?” I heard, his deep husky voice ask. I turned to face him and could see the desperation in his eyes.
“Sure.” I replied, while walking away from the group and towards the side, where it was quieter and out of ear shot for the other warriors.
I turned to face Alpha Drake, who had followed me and crossed my arms over my chest, while I waited for him to speak.
“Isabella, I’m sorry, you were right. I haven’t treated you equally and I promise from now on, I will. Have dinner with me tonight, just the two of us, I want to get your opinions and thoughts, on a few important matters.” He asked, with a hopeful voice. My jaw dropped and I stood frozen with shock, while my brain processed his words.
“O-ok.” Is all I could stutter out. I still couldn’t believe his words. Was he seriously going to change for me?
“Thank you, be ready at 6:00pm, I’ll come and get you, after my meetings.” He said, with a big smile on his face. I could see the relief in his eyes, when I agreed to have dinner with him.
“Ok.” I said, as I walked away quickly, feeling guilty. Lying to him was the hardest thing I had to do, it was destroyed me inside. I knew I wouldn’t be here tonight for dinner, so I had to lie or he would of been suspicious.
He’s trying to make this work between us and I’m about to betray him, by leaving, behind his back. The guilt running through me, was almost unbearable.
I had to remind myself, that I was doing this for us, once the Alpha Rogue is dead, we can finally live our lives, without constantly having to look over our shoulder, in fear. I was brought out of my thoughts, when Alpha Drake spoke up.
“Ok warriors, I’m going to pair you off so you can start training.” He announced to the group and I listened, as he partnered up the warriors.
I was right, when he got to Trish, he partnered her up with me. I let out a breath of relief. Everything was going as planned.
Trish and I, got into position and started to spar. I could see the questionable look on her face, she was still in the dark about the plan and she was looking at me with curious eyes.
At one point, I had Trish pinned on the mat and I glanced up to see what Alpha Drake was doing, to my relief he was watching another set of warriors, that were sparing.
I took the opportunity to reach into my bra and pulled out the note. I quickly stuffed it in Trish’s sports bra, before I stood up. I glanced around nervously, to make sure no one saw the interaction and to my relief no one was paying attention to us. Except for Clair, she had the same anxious look on her face. She was also getting her a*s kicked because she wasn’t pay attention to her fight.
Trish and I continued to spar lightly, for another hour. Neither one of us, was really in the right mindset to have a serious round.
“Alright warriors, training’s over for the day.” Alpha Drake announced and everyone started to leave.
Clair came over to join Trish and I.
“Hey, I’ll meet you back here this afternoon around 2:30pm, I can help you get things ready for the teen training.” Clair said loudly. I could tell, she wanted the guys to hear our conversation.
“Ya, I plan on introducing a few more moves today, it would be good to have another set of eyes, to help oversee the session.” I replied. I saw Erik glancing over, I knew he heard me.
This wasn’t really part of the plan, but it seems to me setting itself up perfectly. I glanced at Trish, silently telling her, to go along with the conversation.
“If you need someone to help out today, I don’t mind doing it.” Trish offered, with a shoulder shrug, acting like it was no big deal.
“That would be great. Come and meet us back here around 2:30pm, so we can get everything ready.” I said to her.
“Sure, I’ll meet you guys here.” She replied, before walking towards Erik, who looked pleased with the fact that we were all getting along. This is going perfectly.
We all went our separate ways.
I headed back to my room and took a long hot shower to relieve some of my anxiety. Once I was done, I got dressed in black leggings and a black tank top. I laid down on the bed and rested my eyes for a bit, knowing it would likely be a long night ahead of us.
I must of dozed off, because the next thing I knew, I was being woken up by my alarm clock. I looked over and saw that it was 2:00pm. My heart started beating fast with anticipation.
I got out of bed and heading into the room, that I share with Alpha Drake, luckily he wasn’t there.
I moved quickly and packed a backpack with a change of clothes, my daggers, cuffs and a syringe filled with wolfbane.
I tied up my hair in a messy bun, slipped on my combat boots and put the backpack over my shoulders.
It was now 2:15pm, I decided to head to the training field early, so I could arrange for one of the warriors to take over the teen training, for the day.
When I got there, there were a few warriors sparing, including Brad. Perfect, I thought to myself, he’s an easy going guy. He would likely have no problem taking over the training for me.
“Hey guys.” I said to the group of warriors, as I got closer.
They stopped their fight and looked over at me.
“Hey, Isabella.” I heard a couple of them greet me, including Brad, who had a big smile on his face when he noticed me.
“Hey Brad, can I chat with you for a minute?” I asked.
“Sure, what’s up?” He asked, with a curious look, as he followed me away from the group.
Once we were a good distance away from the rest, I asked him if he would take over the training. I made up an excuse that Alpha Drake needed Clair and I, elsewhere for the afternoon. He didn’t even hesitate, when he agreed to do it.
I thanked him and gave him an appreciative smile, before I walked away.
Five minutes later, I saw Clair and Trish walking towards me. They both had serious expressions on their faces. I walked towards them and met them halfway.
“You guys ready? It’s not to late to back down.” I said and glanced between the two of them, with my own serious expression.
“Not a chance.” Trish replied shortly.
“Let’s go, before we get caught.” Clair replied. I smiled and started walking towards the parking lot, where all the pack vehicles are located.
Once we reached the lot, I headed for the office, luckily there was no one around, I grabbed a set of keys and headed back outside, where Clair and Trish were waiting for me.
I hit the alarm on the fob for a second, so I could figure out what vehicle the keys were for. It ended up belonging to a black Ford Explorer.
Once we figured out which SUV belonged to the keys, we hopped into it. I got in the driver seat, Clair the passenger seat and Trish in the back.
“Let’s get out of here.” I announced, as I drove towards the gate.
There would be warriors at the gate, but they don’t pay any attention to people leaving. Their duty, is to identify people coming onto the territory.
Like I expected, the gate opened as we approached and no one paid us any attention.
We had been driving for an hour in silence, when Trish spoke up.
“So, where are we going?” Trish asked, with a curious tone.
“I think the best place to start, is going to be where the Rogue Alpha brought me, when I was kidnapped, the old Rogue territory.” I replied and glanced at her through the rear view mirror.
“How far is it from Alpha Drake’s territory?” She asked.
“It’s around five hours. I’m hoping from there, we might be able to replace some tracks, that will show us, in which direction the surviving rogues went after the fight.” I replied and I saw her nod at me through the rearview mirror.
“Any clue how many rogues we’re going up against?” Trish asked.
“No idea, some of the rogues took off form the fight, when they realized that they were losing and we know for certain, that the Rogue Alpha’s Beta, also survived.” I responded.
“Well, let’s go destroy those smelly mutts.” Trish said, with a mischievous smirk. I couldn’t help my own smirk from forming. That’s exactly what I want to do, destroy them all, for what they’ve done to me and the ones I love.
I’m coming for you Rogue Alpha and your not going to like what I have in store for you.
