The Alpha’s Feisty Mate
Chapter 76: They went after him

Alpha Drake POV

I was in a meeting with Jared, Erik and elder Dan, but I couldn’t focus on what was being discussed. My mind was distracted, thinking about my amazing mate and how she agreed to have dinner with me tonight.

I really think that this dinner together, will put us back on track, I miss her and it’s only been a day. I need to make things right, trying to sleep last night was a losing task, the bed felt so cold without her warm body against mine.

I was brought out of my thoughts, when I heard my name being called.

“Alpha Drake, what are your thoughts?” Elder Dan asked, while looking at me with a frown. s**t, I have no idea what they were discussing.

“Sorry, what were you asking?” I questioned.

“What do you think, about hosting an Alpha meeting, so we can discuss ongoing problems and concerns that we all share.” Elder Dan repeated the question.

“Ya sure, let’s do that.” I replied, sounding uninterested. I really want this meeting to be over, so the more I agree with everyone, the faster we can get out of here.

“Ok, how about we schedule it, for in a month time?” Elder Dan asked.

“Yes, that would work, can you organize it?” I asked.

“That’s not a problem Alpha, I’ll contact the other Alphas and come up with dates that work for everyone.” He replied, while writing something down, on the pad of paper that sat on the table in front of him.

“Great, If that’s all, I think this meeting is over.” I said in an a rushed manner. I could see the questionable look on elder Dan’s face, but he didn’t question me.

“Yes Alpha, that’s all for today.” He replied and I stood from my chair. Jared and Erik followed suit and we all left the meeting room together.

The meeting was suppose to end at 5:30pm, but since I couldn’t seem to focus, I ended it at 5:00pm. For some reason I was getting this strong urge, that I needed to go replace Isabella. I didn’t really understand it, I figure it was just my excitement, that I was going to be having dinner with her tonight.

“I’ll talk to you guys later, I need to go replace Isabella, she agreed to have dinner with me tonight.” I told Erik and Jared, excitedly.

“Ya, I should go see how my mate is doing, she volunteered to help Isabella and Clair, this afternoon, with the teen training. They seem to be getting along much better.” Erik replied, with an enthusiastic tone.

“That’s good, their training should just be wrapping up, why don’t we surprise them and go meet them on the training field?” I asked and both Erik and Jared liked the idea.

We started walking towards the training field and I could see that some of the teens, were already leaving.

As we got closer, I couldn’t see Isabella, Clair or Trish, anywhere. Maybe they left already, I thought to myself.

I did spot Brad, talking with a group of teens and I decide to go and talk with him, Jared and Erik followed.

“Hey Brad, have you see Isabella, Clair and Trish?” I asked casually, as Brad turned to face me.

“Alpha.” He greeted with a nod, before continuing. “Ya, I saw Isabella, right before training started. She asked me to take over the session for her and Clair, she told me that you needed them elsewhere.” Brad replied, with a confused frown.

A frown formed on my face, at his words. I glanced over at Erik and Jared and they both had similar confused looks on their faces.

“Did she say anything else?” I asked Brad pointedly while still frowning.

“No Alpha, once I said I could take care of the training, she left, headed back towards the pack house.” Brad replied nervously, probably because he sensed the shift in my demeanour.

I was starting to feel panicked. I need to replace her. What is she up to? Why did she lie to Brad? This doesn’t make sense and it’s out of character, she loves her job, she wouldn’t miss training unless something important came up. I have a bad feeling in my gut. Devon does too.

“Thank you Brad.” I said with a nod. He nodded back at me, before walking away from us. I turned to face Erik and Jared.

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” I said, glancing between Jared and Erik. I could tell by their facial expressions, that they felt the same way.

“I just tried mind-linking Clair, but she didn’t answer. She’s either ignoring it, or she’s out of reach and not getting it.” Jared said, sounding panicked.

“Let’s head back to the pack house and search our rooms.” I said anxiously. Erik and Jared nodded and we quickly headed back.

Once we reached the pack house, we separate and went to our own room.

I opened Isabella’s old room first and found it empty. I made my way to our shared room and also found it empty.

Why would she leave me? Where is she?

I started looking through the room, to see if anything was missing and I immediately noticed her daggers were gone. After searching further, I also noticed a few other things gone, like a backpack, her silver cuffs and a syringe full of wolfbane, that she kept stashed in her dresser drawer.

Damn it, she left, that’s the only explanation why her weapons wouldn’t be here.

‘You replace anything in your room?’ I asked Jared, through the mind-link.

‘Nothing helpful, but a backpack is missing. I think she gone’ Jared replied, panic lacing his words.

‘Meet me in my office.’ I said shortly, before ending the mind-link. I hope Erik found something useful.

‘You replace anything in your room?’ I asked Erik, through the link.

‘Ya boss, I found something in her dirty laundry, I’m heading to your office. Meet me there.’ Erik replied and he sounded out of breath, like he had been running.

I wonder what he found. Where the hell did our mates go? What are they planning?

I quickly made my way down to my office, I was dying to replace out what Erik found, hopefully it’s something that will help us replace our mates.

Once I reached my officer, both Jared and Erik where waiting for me inside, they both had serious, yet concerned looks on their faces. I instantly knew that I wasn’t going to like what Erik had found out.

“What is it?” I asked, glancing between the two of them. They didn’t say anything, but Erik handed me a crumbled up piece of paper.

I straighten it out and saw there was a note written on it. I read the note and my heart sunk, the panic I was already feeling, multiplied in intensity by 100%. The note clearly laid out a plan, the ladies are going after the Rogue Alpha, alone.

Trish offering to help out with the teen training, was all just part of the plan, so they could leave together without us noticing.

The note said that they are heading to the old Rogue territory. We need to get there fast, they already have a couple hour head start on us.

I couldn’t help but wonder if Isabella got another message from the Rogue Alpha, but kept it from me like last time.

I started to internally kick myself. If I had fix this sooner with Isabella, we could of gone after him together, with an army of warriors. This is all my fault, I thought to myself, as I stared pacing the floor in my office.

“What are we going to do? We need to go replace them.” Jared said, as he ran his hands over his face.

“It’s a suicide mission, they don’t even know how many rogues are still part of the pack and there are only three of them.” Erik said, while shaking his head in disbelief.

“Grab a couple warriors and the tracker, we are heading to the old Rogue territory immediately.” I ordered Erik.

“Yes boss.” He replied and his eyes immediately glazed over.

“Jared, I know your not going to like this, but you need to stay here and take care of the pack, while we’re gone.” I said firmly and I could see the disbelief and irritation in his face.

“But Al- – -“ Jared started to reply, before I cut him off.

“This isn’t optional, one of us needs to stay here. We will bring Clair back, you have my word.” I told him sternly. I could see defeat in his eyes, as he nodded his acceptance.

“Ok, the warriors and tracker will be out front, ready to go in fifteen minutes.” Erik told me.

“I’m going to change, I’ll meet you out front.” I said, as I left the office without waiting for a reply.

I made my way to my room and changed into a pair of black basketball shorts and a black T-shirt. It would be easier to carry, if we have to shift into our wolves.

Devon, has been a basket case since we figured out that Isabella went after the Rogue Alpha, I don’t blame him, I’m just as stressed out.

Once I was dressed, I wasted no time and headed to the front doors of the pack house.

There were two SUV’s waiting out front and a couple warriors standing by chatting amongst themselves.

Erik arrived a few seconds after me, with Jared in tow.

“Are we ready to go?” I asked Erik.

“Yes, when I went to grab the vehicles, I discovered a missing Ford Explorer, the girls must of taken it. I checked with the guards at the main gate and they said, a Black Ford Explorer left just after 3:00pm today.” Erik informed me.

“The timing makes sense, it must be them.” I replied and Erik nodded.

“Let’s load up.” I announced loudly, to the group of warriors and everyone started climbing into the vehicles.

Erik got into the driver seat and I got in the passenger seat of a Black Ford Explorer.

Jared was standing by and I could see the desperation on his face, he didn’t look pleased that he had to stay behind.

“Jared, I promise we will bring our mates back. Take care of things while we’re gone.” I said to him, out the open window.

“Yes boss.” He replied, with an almost pained voice.

“Let’s go replace them.” I said to Erik and he wasted no time peeling out of our driveway, at a high rate of speed.

Please goddess, keep them safe until we get there, I silently prayed.m
