Chapter 79: Sleep my Queen

Isabella POV

I was still in the middle of a group hug, with Clair and Trish, when I heard someone clear their throat behind us.

I quickly turned around to see who it was and my heart skipped at beat, it was Alpha Drake. Seeing him, caused a whirlwind of emotions, excitement, relief and a strong desire to be with my mate.

I hope he’s not mad at me, I thought to myself. I really just wanted him to understand, that this was something I had to do. The Rogue Alpha was never going to leave me alone, not while he was still alive. This was my fight and I won it. I have no regrets about coming out here and hunting him down.

I stood in my spot, waiting for Alpha Drake to make the first move, even though, deep down inside, I wanted to run and jump into his arms.

I was nervous, as he started walking towards me, my breathing got heavier. The anticipation, of what he was going to do, was building inside of me.

“Isabella, are you ok?” He asked, with a concerned tone, now standing directly in front of me.

“I am.” I replied softy, while looking deep into his eyes.

“I’m sorry, I let you down. If I hadn’t been so controlling, we would of fought this battle together. You won’t have to fight alone again, I promise. I want us to do it together, as a team from now on.” Alpha Drake said, I could hear the sincerity in his words. I smiled at him.

“Thank you, that’s all that I want, to be your equal.” I said, with a smile on my face, as I jumped into his arms.

He wrapped his arms around my waist, as I wrapped my legs around his and bent down to k!ss his l!ps passionately with mine. He tasted so good, the k!ss was a desperate, yet passionate one. I didn’t want to pull away. I was brought out of the k!ss, when I heard Erik’s voice.

“You ladies are savage.” Erik said, I looked over to see that he was shaking his head in disbelief, as he walked towards Trish.

“Shut up and k!ss me.” Trish said and Erik didn’t waste anytime, he scooped her up into his arms and planting his l!ps onto hers.

“I’m not going to let you go now, I’m holding you like this, until we get back to the Crescent moon territory.” Erik joked, but when Trish wiggled to get down, Erik held her in place so that she couldn’t.

Trish let out a annoyed huff, but deep down, I knew she was loving it. She acts tough, but I can see how much she desires her mate. I chuckled to myself, they’re so perfect for each other and I’ve really grown to appreciate her fierce personality.

“Shall we head home.” Alpha Drake asked, while glancing between the four of us.

“Wait, Trish knocked out Jill and we cuffed her to a tree. She’s just over there.” I said and turned to point at where I had left Jill, only to replace her gone. s**t. How did she get out of the cuffs?

“How the hell, did she get out of the cuffs?” Trish asked, with an irritated tone. She clearly had the same thoughts I was having.

“Now that I think about it, the Beta, Thomas, isn’t amongst the dead rogues. He must of gotten away and took Jill with him.” I replied, while letting out a frustrated huff, at the realization.

“Who is that Jill character, anyway? Why does she hate you so much.” Trish asked, with a curious frown on her face. I paused for a minute, not exactly sure how to explain it. Plus, I don’t even know Jill’s history, I just knew that she wanted Alpha Drake and therefor hated me. Before I could answer, Alpha Drake spoke up.

“She was one of my pack members. We found her at the border of my territory five years go, with fresh wounds on her body. She claimed, that her old pack was abusing her and I unfortunately fell for it. I welcomed her in and made her an official pack member. Looking back, I can see how it was all an act, she had come to my territory, with the intent of becoming my Luna. When Isabella came around, Jill saw Isabella as a threat and wanted her gone. That’s when she betrayed me and teamed up with the rogues.” Alpha Drake replied, you could hear the embarrassment in his tone, when he admitted that Jill played him. He was rubbing his hand at the back of his head, as he spoke.

“That’s crazy, we should of just killed her.” Trish said and glanced at me.

“Ya well, If I had known she was going to get away again, I would of.” I replied, feeling irritated with my own choice of keeping her alive . That was my own mistake and next time, I won’t make it again.

“I’ll leave my warriors behind, to search the surrounding area.” Alpha Drake said and I nodded.

“Sorry Clair, someone had to stay behind and take care of the pack. Jared wasn’t happy about it, he wanted to come for you.” Alpha Drake explained to Clair.

“I understand.” Clair replied, I could tell she was disappointed. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, in an attempt to comfort her.

“You’ll see him soon.” I said, reassuringly and she gave me a small smile. I know it’s difficult for her, seeing Trish and I embracing our mates, while she’s longing for hers.

“Let’s head back to the vehicle’s.” Alpha Drake said and we all agreed. It’s time to get out of here.

The six warriors that came with Alpha Drake, stayed behind to search the area, while we headed back the way we came.

It took us an extra hour, to make our way back to the vehicles. Now, that the adrenaline had worn off, we were all tired. It was already 3:00am and it felt like forever since we last slept.

“Maybe, we should stop at the B***d Moon Pack, it’s only a few hours away. I think we all need some sleep.” Erik suggested and we all agreed. It was difficult just trying to keep my eyes open, I couldn’t imagine driving right now.

We all crammed into one of the SUV’s and left the two others behind for the warriors.

Erik got into the driver seat and Trish the passenger side. Clair got into the rear and I got In on the other side and scooted to the middle seat, before Alpha Drake got in behind me and closed the door.

He wasted no time pulling me onto his lap and I didn’t complain. I was appreciative to have his warm body against mine. He felt so good, that I wanted to stay in that position forever.

“Let’s get out of here.” Erik said, as he hit the gas pedal and peeled out of the gravel driveway.

The drive was quiet, everyone was so tired, it was a comfortable silence and it gave me time to work through all my thoughts.

I leaned my head, against Alpha Drake’s chest and eventually fell asleep, enjoying the feeling of having my mate close to me.

I woke up, when the vehicle came to a stop. I opened my eyes and saw that we were at the gate to the B***d Moon Pack.

Erik had the window rolled down, as he spoke to one of the warriors. He explained the circumstances and we waited a few minutes, while the warrior mind-linked my brother, Declan.

Less than five minutes later, the warrior waved us through and we headed towards the pack house.

We reached the front of the pack house and Declan was standing out front waiting. He looked tired, understandably so, we did show up unexpectedly and woke him in the middle of the night.

Once we stopped in front of the pack house, I jumped out and ran to my brother, engulfing him in a big hug.

“What the hell happened?” Declan asked with concern in his voice, while hugging me back.

“I killed the Rogue Alpha, he won’t be a problem anymore.” I replied, while pulling away from Declan. He had a surprised look on his face, as he processed my words.

“We can talk about it tomorrow, I’ll tell you everything, but right now we are all bagged, I hope you don’t mind us stopping here to sleep for a few hours, before we head back to our territory?” I asked, while a yawn left my l!ps.

“Not at all, come on in, I’ll get you guys setup in the spare rooms.” Declan said, as he walked back into the pack house and we followed behind.

“Thanks Declan. Alpha Drake and I, will take my old room.” I said and Declan nodded.

“We will see you guys later, we can make the rest of the trip home, after we’ve all had a bit of sleep.” Alpha Drake said and everyone nodded their heads, acknowledging him.

Alpha Drake and I, left everyone behind and headed upstairs towards my old room.

Once we got there, I quickly stripped out of my clothes and made my way to the bathroom, Alpha Drake followed me.

I was so tired, but I needed to wash the rogue stench off my body, I didn’t want to go to bed stinking.

I turned the shower on and hopped in, Alpha Drake got in behind me. We were both so tired, he didn’t even try anything. I was appreciative, I had no energy left in my body at the moment and all I crave was sleep.

Once we were done cleaning ourselves off, we got out of the shower and grabbed a few towels to dry off.

I walked into my walk-in closet and grabbed an old T-shirt and a pair of panties, before quickly getting dressed.

Alpha Drake threw on some boxers and climbed into bed. I didn’t waste time and climbed in next to him.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled my body flush against his. I let out a satisfied sigh, as I sunk into his warm embrace.

“Sleep my queen, I love you.” Alpha Drake whispered into my ear and I felt his warm breath fanning my skin. A p..leasurable chill ran down my spine, at the feeling.

“I love you too.” I whispered back at him, as my eyes shut and darkness took over.
