HUDSON

It has been an agonizing two weeks without my mate.

My mother heard from them about two days after they left but she never told us where they were.

There has been no word mentioned to neither Rex nor I about them but I know my mother has been having daily updates from them. She only says that they are happy.

Amy and her mate, Shane, have moved to this pack. Their alpha agreed as Amy has only one living relative in her Uncle who works at the History Library near here, plus he has been helping out a lot with her baby sister. Their old alpha was a little reluctant at first as he was losing his Beta but Shane’s brother has stepped up to the position. I have made Shane one of my deltas and Austin is also my Gamma. Amy has been helping Tasha out with everything and making sure everything is ready for when my mate comes home. She has also been helping me replace information about Brooke. Shane was a little reluctant at first with our history, both Rex and I took out him out for a few drinks and we talked it out.

We have been still searching for the humans but we did have word that Madison was near. She has been spotted by Alpha Josh. He is working his charms on Madison to get her back around here, as we all know that she wants to be Luna so bad. But nothing on Aubrey or her mate Damien. We have been checking all airports. My mother said that they have someone watching them.

I look out of my window like I do most mornings as I think that Brooke and Daisy would walk up the drive, coming back home to us but I don’t know when that will be. I get myself ready and I walk out of my room, head to my father’s office as I have done since the girls left. I know the post comes around 10 every morning. I remember when Daisy wrote a letter to my mother, telling her everything that was going on but she never showed me it. But I did sneak a peek at it when she was out of the room. I found out that they were staying in Spain with our cousin Adonis, I’ve told Rex but we have been keeping it hushed that we know.

Daisy explained that Alpha Adonis’ mate Joe has been helping Brooke overcome her fears especially when it comes to her scars. She also promised that she would send some photos in the next letter to show her. Daisy did state that both Rex and I could have the photos if we wanted but only if we didn’t contact her which has been really hard on Rex. He is hoping she will come back soon.

I walk into the office and my father is sitting on his chair, looking through his emails of the day.

“Morning father,” I say trying to sound cheery but it comes out all squeaky. I really need to start drinking coffee in the mornings or a pint of water.

My father looks up and smirks “Good morning son, why are you up so early this morning?” he says and looks towards a stack of letters that just arrived.

I shuffle towards him but he stops me in my tracks “There is a letter from Daisy but your mother has it.”

I stop and look at him “Okay where is she?” I asked.

His face goes blank and then he looks at me “She is in the kitchen with breakfast for you” he says as I turn to leave the room “Hudson” he says.

I stop with my hand on the door handle but turn my head to look at him.

He has a smile on his face “I have to say, you are really stepping up with taking on your Alpha duties and making sure you are prepared for whatever that family has in store for us”

I smile “I want to make sure everything is ready and safe for when Brooke comes home,” I say.

He looks at me “How are you anyway son? I mean you don’t talk about any of it and you have been keeping to yourself” he says and gives me a hard look.

I know everyone is worried about me but I’m doing ok, I have been keeping myself busy.

Before I can say anything “please be honest with me Hudson”

I look at the door handle but sigh “To be honest dad, I’m a mess. I want Brooke here with me. Asher is restless without her but we both know she needs this. She needs to know who she is. I just wish I could have a letter or text off her so I know she is alright. It has been two weeks but the only person who is getting any mail is mum” I say, I must admit that it felt great to get everything off my chest even if it was not all of it.

He looks at me “Jackson had a letter this morning off her” he says and looks at me for a few moments.

I feel hurt that Jackson had a letter; I know he is her father but I feel like an i***t waiting for someone who doesn’t want to know.

“Instead of waiting for Brooke to write or get in touch with you, why don’t you write a letter to her? Explain everything and how you feel. Your mother can send it to her for you” he says looking thoughtful, a smile slide across his face “You make the first move son, you need to clear the air with her and also writing it all down might help.”

I smile, “That sounds like a……….” I stop myself, I think it is a good idea but I don’t know where to begin.

“Hudson” my father calls but I’m way in my mind thinking about what I want to write to Brooke about.

He smiles “You best go son, by the look on it you have a lot to write about,” he says.

I leave my father’s office in a haze and head straight to the kitchen; as soon as I get closer I can smell pancakes. My mother is sitting there on the stool, a stack of pancakes by the side of her. She is reading the letter Daisy has sent her.

She looks up at me and smiles “Good morning Hudson”

“Morning mum, what does the letter say?” I ask sounding overly excited to know.

She looks at me with a stern look “It is off Adonis, not Daisy. He has been telling me all about the girls and what they are getting up to. But he also tells me about some rogues that have come to the boarders” she says.

I look at her startled “They have rogues there, we have to………” but she cuts me off and shakes her head “Hudson, Adonis’s pack can manage one or two rogues. He only been telling me as he didn’t want anyone to worry.”

“But mum, what if they have to do with Aubrey and Damian’s rogue clan,” I say “They are still after Brooke.”

She smiles “I won’t worry about that, Adonis has doubled patrols around the grounds and the girls are well protected as they have Adonis and Joe has not left Brooke’s side since she has arrived.”

I can’t help feeling jealous about hearing Joe being so close to my mate and a low growl escapes. My mother smirks “I won’t get jealous if I were you son, Joe is a man in love with his mate and he is Adonis’ mate. They have helped her come a long way and she even loves sign language.”

I look back at her with a bit of red on my cheeks “I didn’t mean to be like that, I want to be with her so much.”

She looks at me with a hint of pity but recovers as soon as she realizes what she is doing. “Your father said you are going to write Brooke a letter, letting her know how you feel. I think it’s a brilliant idea” she says and stands up, walks over to the counter and pulls out a pack of paper from the nearby drawer and grabs a pen. She hands them to me with a smile “have it ready in the next two hours and I will post it for you so she can have it over the weekend.”

I take the paper and pen, head up to my room. I need to have a clear head to write her a letter.

I need her to know how I feel and explain everything.

But as soon as I put pen to paper, everything came flooding out of me.
