The Alphas’ P**n Star Mate
Chapter 54 – The Alphas’ Porn Star Mate

Chloe POV

"You're amazing," Mick said, kissing my hand again, then resting it on his knee.

I didn't expect his father to burst out laughing like that. I thought his parents might be pissed because of my vulgar profession. His mom didn't seem to like Mick doing it and I didn't like the degrading way she reacted. Fits of laughter was not my intention when I said what I said, but that's what I got.

Miles was covering his mouth with his hand, his eyes gleaming with amusement. He didn't seem bothered either. I thought that was what made him angry yesterday, hearing that his fated mate was a porn star with his twin brother. He didn't look angry now. He almost looked proud. Damn it. Every time I look at him, I start thinking about those dreams again. He really isn't like most Alphas I've seen. He's too kind. Too gentle. At least the sides to him that I have seen so far.

And that hug yesterday.... I still remember the feeling of being in his arms even though it didn't last very long. The sparks were there, but they weren't the same as the sparks I felt with Mick. They were different, but felt just as overwhelming.

"You should go over there and compare them. Give him a quick hug yourself," Cortina taunts me.

"That will bode well for Mick and his family getting along right now," I muttered. "You're mates. You were all meant to get along. They were meant to share!" "Mick isn't in a sharing mood. Maybe when he is more comfortable here......"

What am I saying? I don't want to be a Luna again. Accepting Mick was easy. The tension we have had between us for the past year made the chemistry so much better, and I know he doesn't want to stay here and take his place as Alpha beside his brother. Miles is already Alpha, but I can see this pack is different from the one I had come from. Cameron's parents would never allow warriors into the main parts of the packhouse unless they were working. They definitely wouldn't dine with them. Miles's warriors all seemed to be friendly with him, and were comfortable at the table with him and his parents. I may not want to be Luna again, but seeing Miles in the role makes me reconsider my previous presumptions about all Alphas.

I still don't think I want to take that role again. No matter how strong the pull is towards Miles, how much Cortina pesters me or plants dreams in my head, or how incredibly tempting his sharp gaze can be, I don't want to be a Luna again. It's as simple as that. "How do you feel about your grandson and his mate being whores, Nonna," Jamie asked bluntly, smoothly placing his arm around the back of her chair. He had a devilish grin, teasing me and Mick for his own amusement. "Really, Jamie?" Mick muttered, pushing his arm off the back of his grandma's chair.

Mick and Miles's father looked amused still, but their mother looked put off by the question. My first impression of their father had me thinking that he would be the one upset by our previous line of work. He looked almost as entertained as Nonna. Nonna had a twinkle in her eye as she looked at me. "You got paid well?" she asked.

"Very," I answered. I could not work another day in my life and live well. I can't even imagine how well off Mick is as the streaming channel's number one streamer. I know from the talk around Broom StiXXX that his pay for each film he did was substantial too. "My bank account would put the pack's to shame," Mick answered, playing with the hair that was still slightly damp on my back.

"Sounds to me like you were professionals." Nonna's eyes twinkled with mischief. "A whore would have done it for free."

I giggled at her answer, and she beamed at me, obviously proud of herself and her wit. I liked this woman. A lot.

"Alpha!" Billy suddenly came running into the dining room, out of breath.

"Speaking of whores," Nonna murmured.

"Alpha," Billy bent over the back of Miles's chair and whispered something in his ear. He was looking between Mick and me, and after a few seconds, Miles's eyes snapped to mine as well. "Dez?" Miles asked.

"Waiting in your office."

Miles nodded. "I'll be right there."

Billy jogged out of the dining room after giving Mick a worried glance, and Miles got up to follow him.

"Everything okay, son?" their father asked.

Miles grimaced. "Nothing we can't handle. Mick. Chloe. When you two are finished eating, would you mind joining us? This concerns you."

Mick tensed for a moment, but relaxed when I gave his hand a gentle squeeze.

"We'll be right there, Alpha Miles," I told him. That gaze that makes my insides quiver rested on me just long enough to make a shiver travel down my spine. He then made a huffing noise deep in his chest, a mix between a purr and a growl, before walking quickly out of the room, looking every bit the Alpha that he is.

Mick's hand tightened around mine. I bit my look and looked over at him after seeing the observant gaze on everyone else's face. I thought he would be mad that I was lost in some intimate staring contest with his twin, but he looked speculative too. I didn't feel the same malice in him that I felt yesterday. Maybe confusion, and deep contemplation.

"I wonder what that was about?" Nonna broke the silence, getting up in a bit of a frenzy and taking the plates from in front of Mick and myself. "I guess you two have somewhere you need to be. I'll take these for you so you can be on your way." She stopped beside Mick and pinched his cheek roughly but lovingly. "I truly missed seeing this handsome face, nipote. I'm glad to have you home where you belong."

Mick smiled crookedly with the cheek she wasn't pinching. "Grazie, Nonna."

"You are very welcome, my darling boy," she slapped his cheek lightly, then hurried off to the kitchen, handing our plates to an omega organizing dishes to be washed in the industrial-looking washer.

"Maybe I should go help dear old granny," Jamie said in a sleazy groan, slowly pushing himself up from his chair.

Mick stood up and slammed him back down. "Off limits. Fill your fetish with someone else."

I pressed my lips together so I didn't laugh, and chanced a glance at Mick's parents. His mother looked appalled and his dad looked like a stiff, angry Alpha again. I can't say I blame him. Jamie was pushing it, and I knew he wasn't kidding.

Mick helped me up from my chair, keeping a hand on my waist as we walked to the door.

"Son," his father stopped us. Mick tensed, and I thought he was going to keep walking and ignore his father, but to my surprise, he actually stopped and turned around. "When you have a chance," the old Alpha looked nervous again, "I, uh, I would like to speak with you." The corner of his lips lifted. It was stiff now, but he was definitely smiling. Nothing like the boisterous laughter he displayed earlier, but his eyes still looked kind, more like Miles now that I'm really looking at him. "Please."

Mick stood still, his emotions changing rapidly inside of him. I tugged on his hand, causing him to look down at me. Despite my first impression, I didn't think his father had ill-intentions. I gave Mick a small nod and a smile for support.

He sighed, then looked back at his father, his emotions way more settled than before.

"Okay," he simply said.

"You too, Chloe," his mother spoke up. "We would love to get to know you as well."

"Sure," I grinned, wrapping my arm around Mick's middle to help calm him more. "I look forward to it, Luna."

"Please. Call me Gail," she smiled, and I felt it was genuine.

"Gail," I repeated softly, then gave them both a slight bow before Mick and I left for his brother's office.
