Chapter 3

Skylar's POV

As we got closer to the pack house I heard children playing first andthen I saw them all running around, laughing, yelling with joy, jokingaround and just having fun which brought a smile to my face and tearsto my eyes because it was a sight you never would have seen at my oldpack house and I really loved and enjoyed seeing how happy and lovedall the kids were which made me happy which is something I haven'texperienced in a very long time. When we got to the house the boysbrought me inside into the very large living room where I guessed thatheld pack meetings seeing as the space was huge, I started fidgetingwith my hair as I sat there looking at what looked like at least 2hundred people or more who started to come into the room. I lookedat the twins for reassurance and all they did was look at me with biggoofy grins on their faces which made me feel a little tiny bit better, bynow the room was full of people looking at me with worry andsuspicion in their eyes since they would wonder why there was arandom rogue in their pack house. As soon as Jace came into the roomand started talking all the hushed voices stopped and all the childrensettled down as well as he addressed everyone.

Jace's POV

When I walked into the meeting room I was greeted with a great dealof people looking at me with worry and suspicion in their eyes, whichmade a tiny laugh escape my lips as how protective they can be of theirfamily and fellow pack members which made me very proud to be theiralpha. “Can I have everyone's attention please, now most of you areprobably wondering why I called this important pack meeting and Iknow you are wondering who this gorgeous girl sitting here is and whyshe is here, I would like to introduce you all to our newest packmember whose name is Skylar. Now Skylar was a member of the SilverMoon Pack but due to a very horrible past she will now be with us, Irefuse to go into detail about her past and what she went throughbefore she came here now so that she could move on to have a betterlife. Now at first she may be very shy and timid towards everyone but Iwould love it if everyone could be kind to her and welcome her withopen arms because I can assure you all that she means us absolutely noharm what so ever to me or to all of you and I believe she will bring anew hope to our future as a pack.” When I looked at Skylar I saw herblushing and trying to hide her face behind her hair even though he issuch a beautiful girl which makes me wonder why that idiot of a matewould reject such a beauty and I hope he lives to regret that decision.“Now would Miss Skylar Rose please come on up here” I ask nicely inmy alpha tone.

Skylar's POV

Jace is a very handsome, kind and nice alpha and I can see whyeveryone shows him the respect that he deserves and commands, nowwhen he called me to come on up to him I was very nervous but when Ilooked out at everyone and seen some of the pack members withsmiles on their faces it made me smile and eased my nervousness alittle bit.

Some people were encouraging me as I walked up to Alpha Jace andonce I was in front of him he started to speak again. “Skylar Rose wouldyou so kindly repeat after me please” he said in the tone that all alphashave but he seen that I was nervous and flashed me a big reassuringsmile which instantly made me feel a whole lot better. “I, Skylar Rose,pledge that I will forever be trustworthy and faithful and honour ourpack in good times and bad. I shall show respect to everyone andpromise to never ever do anything to cause harm to the pack. I willrespect, trust, and honour everyone in the pack until the day I am nolonger in the pack or until the day I die.” Alpha Jace asked me to repeatwhat he said.

“I, Skylar Rose, pledge that I will forever be trustworthy and faithful andhonour our pack in good times and bad. I shall show respect toeveryone and promise to never ever do anything to cause harm to thepack. I will respect, trust, and, honour everyone in the pack until the dayI am no longer in the pack or until the day I die.” I repeated nervouslyand after I was done repeating what Jace said I felt this giant weight inmy head as all of the new voices of the pack members started floodinginto my head through our newly formed mind link which made mesmile.

As people introduced themselves to me I was very grateful that theyasked little to no questions about my past and why I ran away from it.Suddenly 2 girls my age came up to me, I thought that they werebeautiful and they said that their names were Lucy and Amber.

“Hi I'm Lucy” the blonde girl said

“Hey I'm Amber” said the girl with short black hair

“Umm I know that you already know my name but I'm gonna say itanyways, Hey I'm Skylar and it's very nice to meet the both of you” Isaid with a nervous smile

"AHHHH, OMG Lucy whisper/yelled at Amber we just found a new BFFwho isn't a stuck up bitch and she’s already friends with Jasper andAlex” she exclaimed and the fact that they wanted me to be their bestfriend made me so happy and complete in that aspect of my life that Iwanted to freeze time and stay feeling like this forever. While Amberand Lucy were arguing over which one of them should be the one toask me to be their new best mate I smiled and hugged them “I wouldlove to become you guys' best mate” I told them happily and they bothlaughed and hugged me back smiling from ear to ear like the cheshirecat.

After everything that had happened today me and the girls spent therest of the night getting to know each other better and I told themabout everything that happened at my old pack and about my family,how my parents are both dead and how my brother used to abuse meeveryday, how when I finally found my mate and how he decided toreject me. When I was done telling them everything and they came outof their shock they told me that they were going to ask Jace and thetwins to train me and turn me into a healthy badass that no one willwant to fuck with ever again. By the time me and the girls were donechit chatting I felt exposed and exhausted and so I headed to bed, assoon as I layed down on my king size bed and my head hit my nice softpillow I fell into a beautifully wonderful nightmare less sleep.
