Chapter 102: NO RETURN

"Whatever you are about to do, Mr. Smith, please consider that you will be sued," Richard said, and Charles paused. He recalled that he was the only one in the room with Emma.
"At the very least, tell me where you got these photos. Have you been stalking us?" he asked, and Emma raised a brow. Was that what you said to your wife when you had been caught with another woman?
She almost felt like laughing. If he took a look at the pictures, he would be able to tell who
took them.
But as for who sent them, well, she knew he was blind to people's true nature, and he was not one to believe her words either, so why say it?
Would he believe that it was Melanie herself who had been sending this to her for the past three years of their marriage?
She did not think he would. She knew him enough to know that he would not.
She almost rolled her eyes at his anger. She pushed the divorce papers on the desk closer to
him.
"sign it," she said, and he held himself and angrily penned down his name.
He had seen written that she did not want to take anything from him and felt like scoffing.
This woman that was absolutely nothing? If she was not already tired of her, he would have been curious enough to try and replace out what game she was playing.
Emma took the divorce papers back and signed her name before handing them to Richard.
"There is nothing I regret more than the day I met you, maybe second only to the day I married you," Emma said, and Charles's face darkened.
"I wish you no happiness. I hope everything you place your hand on fails," she basically spat and walked out of the room with Richard.
She thanked Richard, who assured her that he would get everything finalized quickly.
"Let me drop you off," Richard said.
"No, you have a meeting. You should get to that," Emma rejected.
She thanked him before entering her car and leaving.
By the time Emma arrived at Charles' home, she was met with sounds of laughter from the living room. She had heard this sound long enough to know who they were.
She walked into the living room to replace Cecile and Melanie ordering staff around. When Emma saw the sight, she felt like laughing. The ink on her divorce papers was not dry, and the mistress has made herself at home.
"That thing said she is divorcing Charles," Emma heard Cecile say.
"Divorce? Why? I thought they were fine; did something happen?" Melanie said in this sickeningly sweet voice that made Emma's skin crawl.
Anyone who did not know the story would have thought she was actually concerned for herself and Charles.
It was as though she was not the one who had set her intimate pictures of herself and Charles all these yearA
"What a bowl of shit. That social climber that basically begged to enter our family and leave on her own? I don't believe it," Cecile said.
"It is good if they figure out their issues," Melarile said.
"She is just throwing a tantrum. She must be stupid. Does she think doing this will make my son look at her?" Cecile sold.
Emma was used to hearing such words. They were nothing new. Cecile was one to say such a thing to her face. Every day, she found a reason to mock Emma
"Cecile, maybe we should not say this. It will hurt her feelings," Melanie said, and Emma almost rolled her eyes.
This snake is in plain sight. Even a deaf person could tell she was not sincere. She had used to wonder if Cecile and Charles were blind or maybe deaf.
Why else would they be unable to see that this girl never meant well? Emma scoffed lightly.
If she had not wanted to leave this house quickly, she could have taken her time to deal with
this snake
Who cares if her feelings are hurt?" Cecile asked, "Melanie, you are too nice for your own good. If you and Charles did not have that misunderstanding, where would she have seen the space to insert herself in our family?" Emma slammed the door loudly so they could hear her come in. Both women froze where they stood and turned to look her way.
"Look who is back. It is the child throwing a tantrum. You actually dare talk back to me when I called you. Look at the time you are returning. You should have been here from the beginning to help me cook and prepare!" Cecile scolded. Emma looked around the room to see from the preparations that a lot of guests were coming.
"Auntie, don't talk like that; if Emma prepared all this herself, she would be tired. Why don't I help?" Melanie said.
"You are just too nice for your own good. There is no need for you to help; you are a guest. You should relax and let others do it," Cecile said. Emma glanced at both of them and turned to walk away.
ww
"Hey, I am talking to you; where are you going?" Cecile hurriedly blocked Emma's path," Hurry up and enter that kitchen!" Cecile scolded,
LE
"Why should I do that? It looks like old age has taken away your common sense, or at least your hearing. Did I not already say that I am divorcing your son? We just signed the papers Have your new daughter-in-law do it instead and stop blocking my path!" Emma said, pushing Cecile out of her way. Cecile tumbled slightly, and Melanie went to catch her, and they both fell to the floor.
This was what Charles saw the moment he walked into the house. He had only returned, and his mother and Melanie were on the floor while his ex-wife was staring at them coldly from the first step of the staircase.
"What have you done? Are you crazy?" Charles hurried over to help Melanie up, ignoring hist mother, which made the older woman furious.
"You crazy son, you should at least help your mother up first, right? Look how much she
enjoyed making people suffer for your sake, and you ran to help your mistress up." Emma said, and Charles realized that his mother was still on the floor.
Melanie saw the resentful look on Cecile's face and hurriedly tried to help her up.
"Don't try to
o sow discord between mother and son!" Melanie said righteously. This statement, even though it was not calming Cecile's anger, made her see Emma as an enemy.
"You crazy woman! You dare push me down? Why did you not step up to help me up?" Cecile
said.
"It is your lot that is crazy. I am no longer a member of your family. I don't think I ever was. You better educate your mother and mistress on what divorce means before they embarrass themselves outside. "Emma, I have never tried to come in between you and Charles; there is no need for you to call me a mistress!" Melanie said righteously.
"Be careful; even angels would run from your righteousness. You are a woman who crawled into a married man's bed; what were you doing there? Looking for bed bugs? Are you a priest or an exterminator, which is it?" Em
