The Billionaire's Mistake (Anya and Daniel) -
MISTAKE 208
Chapter 208: Fall out
"I'm sorry, but that simply isn't our concern. Anya Jones has done nothing wrong, and we have no intention of removing her from this project talk more fire her."
Sensing that they were going nowhere, Annie eyes turned dark when she heard this. It seems they were determined to protect her to the very end. "Very well. my company retains the right to sue" "Is that so? No problem. This is out of my scope of responsibilities," Mrs Daniels replied. "I will relay your decision to the legal department."
As Annie ended the call, she was not optimistic. She was not sure that the agency would even want to fight Shaw group.
Anya was exhausted as she made her way home, still reeling from the aftermath of slapping Jasmine. She walked into the mansion to warm food. She hurried up to have a bath before coming down. She knew there would be consequences, and it didn't take long before she saw an email from Jasmine's lawyer.
Sighing, Anya had her meal and tried to rest. She did not bother reading through. She decided to make good use of this husband that fell from the sky and forwarded the email to him, before climbing into bed. He did not reply immediately, which told her that he was probably still in a meeting.
As Anya scrolled through social media, her heart sank. The clip of the moment she had slapped Jasmine had spread like wildfire, and the entire internet seemed to be in an uproar, condemning her actions. Thousands of comments filled her feed, many of them laced with anger and hatred.
One particularly scathing comment read: "A staff of a company can actually slap a staff. Why has she not been fired? The amount of audacity needed to do such things is sleeping with the boss."
"Forget sleeping with the boss. You have to be his wife. At the stage this has blown up online, you will need to answer to shareholders. Even if you cannot control you temper. You cannot slap a contracted artist. I see a law suit on the way.
Anya read this and raised a brow, "How did they guess?" she muttered.
The comments continued to pour in, with Jasmines' fans leading the charge. They were outraged and demanding that Anya betaken out for a public flogging. The incident had even mad it's way into a gossip column.

granddaughter, Anya. Is she available?"
The receptionist hesitated, her brow furrowing apologetically. She almost wanted to curse. How was she supposed to know who her granddaughter was? Didn't this Anya have a last name and a department? 3/4
"I'm afraid I can't allow you to go up to the offices, ma'am. Company policy. But if you'd like, you can call Anya down to meet you here in the lobby," she said politely.
Amanda's lips pursed slightly, a hint of impatience flashing in her eyes. "That won't do," she said firmly. "I don't have Anya's number. Could you please call her for me? She should be in the marketing department." The receptionist nodded quickly. Even though the old woman talked lightly and asked nicely, she did not dare to say no. "Of course, right away." She picked up the phone and dialed, murmuring Anya's extension. As the receptionist waited for Anya to answer, Amanda's gaze swept across the lobby. Her sharp eyes took in every detail. She wondered if her grand-baby in law was getting used to working here. This place seemed so cold. But now, that she thought about it, her grandson's company was
even colder.
Finally, the receptionist spoke up. "I'm sorry, ma'am, but Anya isn't answering her desk phone. It seems they are break."
Amanda let out a soft sigh. "Do not worry, let me call my grandbaby." Amanda took out her phone the next moment and started calling Daniel.
In a few seconds, Daniel picked he was in a meeting, but his grandmother almost never called so he was curious.
"What is Anya's number send it to me," Amanda said the moment Daniel picked the call.
"What do you need her number for, Grandma?" Daniel asked.
"Eh? How is that your concern? Just send it over quickly, I am at her work place!" she ordered
and ended the call.
Daniel thought of her words and smiled lightly. He had seen what was going on online and knew what his grandmother was doing. Soon, Daniel sent the number over and she smiled and dialed it. After a bit, Anya picked the
call.
Amanda's face brightened. "Anya, dear, it's Grandma. I'm downstairs in the lobby. I came to see you."
Anya knew that voice even though she had only heard it a few times.

"The lobby? I am not in Shaw group headquarters right now,"
"It is fine, Houston, right? I am here," Amanda said.
There was a brief pause, then Anya's voice, slightly breathless, came through the receiver." Grandma? Of course, I'll be right down!"
Amanda smiled, relieved that Anya was not offended that she came. "Okay, dear. Don't rush. I'll be waiting for you."
