Chapter 209: Support

As Amanda waited, she couldn't help but notice the curious glances from the employees passing by. Amanda did not think it was because she had come surrounded by guards dressed she in black, or that they were acting as though she was going to be attacked at any moment, felt it was no doubt they were admiring her beauty. She did not bother about the attention she was attracting.

Suddenly, a commotion caught Amanda's eye. She turned to see a group of well-dressed men hurrying towards her, their faces looking shocked and hurried.

She may not recognize who they were, but the staff did. They were the vice president and several directors of the Houston Corporation.

"Ah, Mrs. Shaw! What a pleasant surprise to see you here," the vice president exclaimed, bowing deeply.

The directors quickly followed suit, greeting Amanda with the utmost deference. "Mrs. Shaw, it's an honor. Please, come upstairs.," one of them urged.

"Why is she standing? Hurry up and prepare a place to sit," the Vice president scolded the receptionist.

Amanda blinked, slightly taken aback by the attention. She raised a hand, her expression indifferent and firm. "Oh, no need for all that. I'm simply here to see my granddaughter-in-law. You all run along now."

Amanda was quite known in the industry. She was a woman feared and revered. It was not odd that she was recognized.

Hearing her reply, the vice president raised a brow. "Oh, visiting... I did not know that Mrs Rhode's granddaughter in law works with us.

Before Amanda could respond, a familiar voice rang out across the lobby. "Grandma!"

Amanda turned to see Anya hurrying towards her and her face lit up with joy. She hurried over and took Anya's hand.

The guards behind her respectfully greeted and Anya was taken aback. She became conscious of where they were.

"Anya, my dear," Amanda murmured, her own face softening with affection. "How are you, child? Have you been eating well? Sleeping enough?"

Anya nodded, even though she was very self conscious this moment, she could not get over how well Amanda treated her. It reminded her of the first time they met.

It made her heart feel warm and a happy smile bloomed on her face. "I'm doing well, Grandma. Besides, you saw me not long ago," Anya said.

Amanda acted as though she did not hear this and kept fussing.

"That grandson of mine does not know how to take care of people. How can I sleep well? See, I've brought you some food, just in case." She lifted a small, neatly packed box. "Homemade, of course. I know how busy you are, your generation is always working and you're not taking proper care of yourself."

Anya accepted the box. She could not help smiling. Since she was young, her grandmother would do this for Kelsey but never for her. She never knew she would like it this much. "Thank you, Grandma. This is so thoughtful of you."

As the two women exchanged warm greetings, the vice president and directors looked on, their expressions were restrained. They were not sure which grandson this staff had married as Old Madam Rhodes had a lot of grandsons. Finally, after a few more moments of fussing over Anya, Amanda turned to the group of executives. "I apologize, but I'm afraid I must be going. This is my granddaughter in law. Please take care of her for me."

The vice president quickly stepped forward, his face eager as he said, "Mrs. Rhodes, please, Don't worry, she will be well taken care of."

"I will thank you in advance," Amanda answered and turned to Anya to say, "I should get going. Make sure you eat, okay?"

With that, Amanda took Anya's arm, and the two women made their way towards the exit.

Anya did not know who the executives were so she politely nodded their way and walked Amanda out.

As they walked to Amanda's car, Anya couldn't help but feel a mixture of happiness and discomfort.

On one hand, she was deeply touched by her grandmother's visit and the obvious affection between them. But on the other hand, she was very much aware of the attention they had drawn.

It felt as though she was being paraded somewhat, but she could not quite put her finger on the feeling.

"Grandma, thank you for visiting. I will eat it all, Anya thanked her.

Amanda chuckled softly, her wrinkled hand giving Anya's arm a gentle squeeze. "That is good. Remember, if Daniel bullies you, you can call me, I will teach him a lesson."

Anya's eyes widened slightly. She definitely believed it was possible for Daniel to be taught a lesson by his grandma. "He wouldn't Grandma, there is no need to worry"

Amanda raised a hand, silencing her. "If he dare just call me. I will teach him a lesson. And if anyone here bullies you, tell me, I want to see if this company is bigger than ours. Don't Chapter 209 Support

tolerate it okay? Call Daniel, your mother in law or call me, okay?"

Anya nodded even though she did not know her mother in law yet. The moment the thought crossed her mind, she paused and shook it off. What was she thinking? She was not even married to him. What Mother in law? But she still nodded, her heart growing warming and warmer at every word that left Amanda's mouth. She had a grandmother but never got to enjoy having one. "I am fine Grandma, no one would dare bully me," Anya reassured her. "I'm so glad to hear that," Amanda said, her voice warm with pride. "But if it comes down to it, tell them our family will not do business with them anymore?!"

Anya felt her cheeks flush with a mixture of gratitude and amusement. She could already imagine the scene. It was something out of a drama. "Thank you, Grandma. I will do just that."

As they reached Amanda's car, Anya turned to Amanda, a slightly mischievous smile playing on her lips.

"You know, Grandma, I think you made quite an impression back there. Those directors were practically falling over themselves to greet you. Now everyone knows who my grandma is, I will walk around with my shoulders five feet high,"

"That's the point," she said and Anya froze.

Anya suddenly realized why Amanda had come. It seems she had seen what was going on online.

"I heard someone is giving you trouble. Just deal with them as you like. No one can do anything to you," Amanda said and Anya's heart softened.

She had a grandmother of her own, but it seems this was the first time she had actually felt what it was like to have a grandmother.

"Of course. If I get bullied, I will tell you," Anya said.

Amanda chuckled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Good. You are a semi boss here too. I want to see what the Houston family will dare to do to you. Now, you'd best be getting back to work. I'll let you get on with your day." Anya nodded, with a smile. " Thank you Grandma."

Amanda reached out and gave Anya's hand a gentle squeeze. "Now, off you go. I'll be sure to check in on you again soon."

With one final embrace, Anya reluctantly turned and headed back towards the building, her steps a little lighter, her heart a little fuller. As she walked, she was very pleased. Who knew there would be a day she would experience her grandma sending her food. Chapter 209. Support

These thoughts swirled in Anya's mind as she made her way back to the canteen, the box of homemade food clutched tightly in her hands. When she arrived, her coworkers immediately took notice, their eyes widening with curiosity.

"Anya, that food... did you bring it from home?" one of them asked.

Anya smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her. "No, actually, it was a gift from my grandmother. She came to visit me in the lobby."
