Chapter 215: GOSSIP SOURCE

"Listen, you know how. I said I would help Harry buy his things at the store, but he refused," Ethan asked excitedly. Harry glanced his way for a second before turning around to place his things on his bed.

"Isn't it because you have a short attention span? If he left it to you, who is to say you will not return empty-handed after playing around for too long?" Mark answered.

"No, this is not because of me. I just saw him meeting up with his girl," Ethan said hurriedly when he noticed Mark attempting to put his headphones back on. Mark paused when he heard this and looked towards Harry taking out his luggage. When he noticed Harry still looked fine as usual, he raised a brow.

"Are you sure you did not see anything wrong?" he asked, and Ethan quickly shook his head.

"Do you know how I saw them? They were so close, he was holding her in the cosmetic aisle." Ethan started to explain, even trying to demonstrate. The more he talked, the more interested Mark was. He kept glancing at Harry as Ethan said, "I know what my eyes saw; he was holding his woman and having a conversation for over twenty minutes." Ethan exaggerated.

"What do you mean by such a long time?" Harry finally spoke.

"So, there was a woman," Mark said, and Harry paused.

"Mark, be careful when believing what comes out of this big mouth," Harry told Mark.

"Then clarify it to me. The debate is whether you hugged her or you hugged her while having a conversation for thirty minutes; either way, there was a woman," Mark said.

"I am telling you that they were holding each other, his face almost eating her, and they were there for forty minutes," Ethan said.

"Why are you not saying anything, Harry? I know you very well; this entire university is watching you like a hawk. You don't dare hold a woman's hands so that she might not misunderstand, yet you held her for fifty minutes? You can't say that this is a misunderstanding," Mark asked, putting down his headphones.

"I am telling you, there is nothing to misunderstand. My eyes do not lie! He held her and spoke to her for one hour." Ethan insisted.

"Wait! Why is the time I held her getting longer?" Harry asked.

"So

you

held her for more than one hour, then?" Mark asked, his eyes narrowing.

"It was not up to a minute," Harry said to them. He knew they were just going to ask him to explain, but they were too annoying, and he could not help but respond.

said nonsense in the bathroom, and rumor spread that I like that pretentious Lydia from the accounting department," he said.

"Hey, we only joked that you can see the spirit of romance in you because of your mother's tarot reading. We were only making jokes about your tarot girlfriend, whom your mother is already calling relatives and telling about. Did we do tarot reading?" Mark asked. "No," Ethan answered.

"Did we tell your family you are dating because the tarot card said so?" Mark asked.

"No," Ethan answered, and Harry sent him a complete warning."

"We only said you were probably dreaming of Lydia. It was just a random name. How were we supposed to know that people would say it is Lydia? Is she the only Lydia on campus?" Mark asked.

"You already know your jokes have troubled some random girl with gossip you started, but you are still doing so." Harry was done with them. He turned around to continue packing his luggage. "Who says we are joking this time? You were the one who went to hug some girl for two hours," Ethan said, and Harry sent him another warning with his eyes.

"Besides, who says that an accounting girl is troubled? She couldn't wait to walk sideways." Mark said, then turned to Ethan. "Tell me, what does our sister-in-law look like?" he asked.

"Hmm, very ordinary. Like someone who is probably at the top of her grade," Ethan answered.

"So, that is his type," Mark muttered. When Harry heard their words, he recalled her eyes.

"She doesn't look ordinary," he said, and the other two paused at what they were doing and looked at each other. In truth, given his reaction, they had already guessed nothing was happening, probably something he thought troublesome to explain; they knew him too well. But these words made them wonder if the old bachelor had been taken. "Harry, that tarot reader your mother met, could you please ask her to pass their number to

me?" Mark asked.

On the other hand, Lydia was unaware she had verified a tarot reader's skill in the graduate hostel as she was quickly distracted with packing up for the road trip. By the time she was done, it was late at night. She smacked on her bed to a drama late into the morning before sleeping.

Her roommates woke her early the next day, and seeing how tired she looked, they could not help but scold her.

"What were you doing all night instead of sleeping?" Ethel asked her.

"See how tired you are. You finished packing early, but instead of going to sleep, you stayed until almost dawn, Cindy said.

"There was this new drama," she explained, but they did not give her a chance.

"Hurry and get ready; we will be before the bus by 7 am." Cindy hurried her into the bathroom. By the time they left their room, it was 6 a.m., so they thought they were pretty early, so they stopped by the cafeteria and got something to eat on the bus. Lydia decided to get some donuts and milk tea. She got some yogurt to sip on later in the bus.

They soon joined their department by the bus and got on. Soon, other departments joined

their buses.

Harry and his roommates arrived at the lineup of buses and reported to their professors.

"It seems a lot of the departments are full. Go ahead and join that bus," their professor directed them, and they got on. Harry stepped onto the bus, and his eyes met Lydia's in the second-to-last seat.

Lydia looked away the moment their eyes met. She did not notice Ethan's eyes widen as they walked over. It was not only Harry who recognized her. As he approached, she stared fiercely outside the window. She really regretted sitting alone behind her roommates. Ethan saw as Mark made to sit beside her and dragged him to the back seat, leaving the seat beside her for Harry.

"What's your problem?" Mark asked.

"Sister-in-law," Ethan responded, gesturing towards Lydia in front of them. At this point, they were both seated behind her. Mark looked forward and back at Ethan for confirmation, and he nodded furiously. Their eyes both descended on Harry at this point. At first, Harry had no intention of sitting with Lydia; he had only noticed her and recognized her quickly the moment he entered the bus. But her reaction to seeing him made him want to sit beside her even more. Before anyone else could take the seat, he sat down immediately.

Lydia noticed that the seat next to her had been taken but did not bother to look at who had sat down, for fear that it would actually be Harry. But it was not as though the bus was her home. Even though she could ignore it, her friends seated in front could not. They looked back at Lydia with wide eyes, but she was looking intently out the window. She was pretending to hear nothing. Lydia was not sure how to disappear from the bus faster.
