The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 2008 I'm Afraid You’ll Die of Exhaustion

After a while, someone brought over a meal.

It was all of Nicole's favorite Medianian food.

Since Nicole could not move, Clayton slowly fed her. When the spoon was next to her mouth, Nicole gained an appetite from the soup's aroma.

Clayton finally smiled when Nicole was done eating.

Only then did Nicole realize that he had not eaten a single bite.

"Go out and eat..."

Did he not just say that he was hungry?

Why did he not touch the food?

Clayton smiled. "It's too troublesome to go out."

He then proceeded to finish her leftovers with gusto.

Nicole was not sleepy at all since she just woke up from a nap.

She watched as Clayton finished the food, packed up the boxes, and made himself a cup of coffee.

Nicole then realized that Clayton was planning to stay up all night with her.

She frowned and said, "Why are you drinking coffee at night?"

Clayton paused slightly, then smiled.

"It's refreshing."

"Don't drink it. I'm afraid you'll die of exhaustion."

Nicole looked at him sincerely.

She had always followed Floyd's health care regime and could not stand that the people around her did not take care of their health.

Clayton's body stiffened. He sighed and glanced at her helplessly.

He was not yet at the point where he could die from exhaustion.

However, he did not retort and took the coffee over.

"Fine. I won't drink it. I'll just smell it."

Nicole did not stop him and smiled.

"Can you tell me what happened these days? How did you replace me?"

Clayton said, "I found you by following Eric's boat."

Nicole frowned and was puzzled.

Clayton raised his eyebrows. "Someone wouldn't have taken you away just for revenge. I know Tyler's movement, so if it wasn't him, it meant that it was someone else. That person must have a motive for kidnapping you. No one came to me or your family for ransom, so I figure that it must be Eric Ferguson."

When Clayton mentioned that name, his voice turned cold.

However, it was fleeting. Clayton still looked handsome and gentle.

It was as if Nicole had misheard.

"So, you got someone to watch him?"

Clayton curled his lips with a bit of disdain.

"Yeah. When he set sail after receiving the news, I felt that something was wrong, so I

got a diver to hide under his boat. That person was the one who rescued you after you fell into the sea."

Nicole was silent for a moment before she took a deep breath.

In other words, if it was not for Clayton's vigilance =c!

However, Nicole still did not understand how she fell into the sea.

She remembered standing on the deck and falling into the sea in the next second without having any time to react.

The suffocating feeling came instantly.

Seeing Nicole's sudden change in expression, Clayton did not continue and held her hand.

"Are you afraid?' Clayton stared at Nicole's face intently for fear that something was wrong.

Nicole paused, nodded, and clutched the quilt tightly with her other hand.

"How did I fall into the sea? There are railings on the deck..."

Clayton's expression changed slightly, and his eyes turned cold.

"You didn't jump off by yourself?"

"Am I stupid?"

Nicole frowned. "I waited on that island for three days. Since Eric went, it meant that I still had a chance to survive. Even if he doesn't care about me, there will be other opportunities to escape later. I also know that you'll come to rescue me, so why would I jump into the sea?"

Did Angie think that she could use Tyler to scare Nicole?

Why would Nicole need to be afraid of someone who she got arrested?

Nicole was furious.

Clayton touched her shoulder to calm her down.

"I know. Now I'm certain that Angie's men pushed you."

"Angie's men? I don't understand. She didn't touch me for three days and kept saying that she wouldn't hurt me. Why would she hurt me at that time...?"

Nicole could not figure it out the more she thought about it.

Apart from Eric, there was no other connection between Nicole and Angie.

Angie knew that Nicole had nothing to do with Eric, so why did Angie target her like this?

Clayton paused and leaned forward.

"Don't think about it if you can't figure it out. I'll get her to talk."

"Get her to talk? Did you capture her?"

Nicole was surprised. She suddenly remembered what she overheard just now. Clayton and another person were vaguely talking about Angie. Although Nicole did not hear it very clearly, it was not difficult to connect the dots.

Clayton had turned the tide.

He turned defeat into victory.

Clayton nodded calmly, raised his eyebrows, and leaned into her.

"Do you want to take revenge? I can make her jump into the sea for you. Or I can keep her on that island that no one knows about and let her fend for herself for the remainder of her life there..."

His voice suddenly became deeper.

Nicole was slightly startled.

Their eyes met.

Nicole looked at Clayton's solemn face and knew that he was not joking.

Slowly, her lips were pressed into a straight line.

There was a strange coldness in her calm eyes.

Nicole paused, and her expression changed slightly.

She stretched out her hand to hold his large hand that felt a little cold. She squeezed his hand and said, "No. Although I really want to get back at her, you're a legitimate businessman and different from them, so don't get your hands dirty.'

Nicole spoke eagerly for fear that Clayton would do something irrevocable because of her.

Angie harmed her, so Nicole wanted revenge.

However, Nicole did not want Clayton to retaliate using extreme ways.

If that was the case, what was the difference between them and Angie or Tyler?

Clayton looked at her unblinkingly. After a few seconds, he smiled.

His eyes were gentle, as if the coldness just now was merely a disguise.

"Of course. I'm just kidding. TH just teach her a lesson. After she tells us her purpose of capturing you, I'll hand her over to the police."

Nicole breathed a sigh of relief and nodded.

Clayton tucked her under the quilt. "Do you want to sleep?"

Nicole shook her head.

"I wanna watch a movie."

Clayton smiled. "No, you haven't recovered yet, and it'll strain your eyes. Do you want me to read to you?"

In the past when Nicole could not sleep, Clayton would read to her.

Regardless of what language the book was in, Nicole would always fall asleep in less than a few minutes.

That was because Clayton's voice was really soothing.

However, this time, Nicole felt sorry for Clayton. Although he was trying to look strong for her, he must not have had a good rest in a long time.

Nicole yawned and patted the space next to her.

"No need. I'll sleep, so you can sleep too. Just sleep here..."

After all, the VIP ward's bed was really big, soft, and comfortable.

Besides, Nicole did not need injections now and only needed to rest.

Clayton looked at her with a smile. Without any hesitation, he took off his jacket, lifted the quilt from the other side, went in, and held her in his arms.

He was quiet and did not move.

Soon after, Clayton could feel her steady breathing and knew that she was asleep.

The medicine Nicole took during the day caused drowsiness.

Clayton stared at Nicole's facial features under the dim light and looked at Nicole carefully as if he wanted to etch her into his mind.

He did not dare to show his deep and heavy emotions as he was afraid that such strong feelings would make her feel stressed and burdened.

Thus, he could only reveal his feelings to her little by little and slowly infiltrate into her life.

After a while when was sound asleep, Clayton got up slowly, tucked her quilt, and walked out quietly.

Several people were waiting outside.

The captain nodded slightly. "Mr. Sloan,

Eric Ferguson is awake."
