The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 2009 What Can I Do?

When Clayton heard this, he frowned, nodded, and glanced at the bodyguard next to him with a grim expression.

"Shane, take good care of Madam."

Shane nodded solemnly.

"Yes, Mr. Sloan. You can rest assured."

Clayton followed the captain downstairs.

They went down the steps and went into an elevator that led underground.

Many hospitals in Erethea had bomb shelters underground, and some of them were hidden.

Clayton brought his people over. There were many men dressed in black standing at the door. When they saw Clayton, they were extremely respectful and bowed their heads in unison.

Clayton walked straight into the innermost room which was very dim.

"Open the door."

The bodyguard next to him did not hesitate and immediately opened the door.

Clayton entered the dark and damp room. The light overhead was swaying, and the vent was buzzing due to years of disrepair.

The man inside curled up on the ground, but he still looked fierce.

His bloodied body made him look wild and lifeless.

Clayton walked over, squatted down, and looked down at the man coldly. He said in a low voice, "Mr. Ferguson, are you okay?" Eric moved. His breathing was a little labored, and his thin lips were slightly pursed. His facial features were tough and sharp as he looked at Clayton gloomily.

"I won't die just yet."

Clayton laughed when he heard this.

"Great."

Clayton's eyes held a complex emotion.

When Grant called him, he deliberately reminded Clayton of Eric's identity because he did not want Clayton to act on an impulse.

This time, Eric finally fell into Clayton's hands, yet he could not do anything. How could Clayton be reconciled?

Clayton's face was calm and undisturbed. However, the coldness and sharpness in his eyes were undisguised.

"Mr. Ferguson, do you regret it?"

Eric paused and breathed heavily.

"Is Nicole awake?"

Even though Clayton had gotten five or six bodyguards to take turns fighting with Eric, Eric was a tough guy and stood his ground.

Eric was not willing to be beaten without fighting back.

Clayton deliberately wanted to drain Eric's energy from the constant fight.

Just as expected, Eric did not show his weakness.

However, at this time, Eric looked extremely wretched.

Eric was exhausted :a,>YKW; had bruises all over his body.

Clayton's composed and gentlemanly appearance was in stark contrast to Eric's current state.

Under the dim light, Clayton suddenly raised his eyes and stared at Eric.

"How could you mention her name?"

His tone was extremely cold. "When she was bullied, you stayed on the sidelines. Why are you pretending now?"

Eric was silent for a while. He clenched his fists.

Clayton's every word poked at his pain point.

Eric's throat moved, and his whole body was tense and hurting.

"What can I do?"

Eric paused and repeated it. He was depressed and resentful.

"What can I do? That's my mother. No matter what, she's my family. Compared to Nicole, my mother has no value, so they'll kill an ordinary woman like her at will. I know that they won't kill Nicole. So... So..."

Eric did not continue.

Saying that already took all his strength.

Clayton sneered and gritted his teeth.

"So, you can let Nicole die. Do you think that she's not an ordinary person? Does she have nine lives?! Eric Ferguson, the reason you lost is not that you abandoned her countless times, but because of your inopportune confidence in yourself."

After he finished speaking, Eric's expression changed slightly.

Clayton lowered his eyes and stared at Eric. He was extremely pleased to see Eric's defeated look at that moment.

This fact was worse than killing Eric.

Clayton stood up and tidied up his clothes.

"Mr. Ferguson, I'll put you at the dock and get your people to pick you up, so don't even think about showing yourself in front of my wife in the future."

Clayton did not touch Eric not because he did not dare to. He just did not want to get into unnecessary trouble.

Moreover, Clayton did not want Nicole to hear any negative news about himself.

He would always maintain his image as the perfect husband to Nicole.

Eric moved his body, raised his head, and looked at Clayton with deep eyes.

You're letting me go?" "You don't believe me? I'm not like you. I have a family, and I'm a legitimate businessman, so I can't get my hands dirty."

Clayton smiled slyly like a fox.

He swept a glance at Eric and said meaningfully, "Mr. Ferguson, were you trying to expose me by doing everything in your power to drag the Stanton family into the quagmire?" What strange words.

However, this made Eric's body stiffen for a moment. He looked up at Clayton coldly.

At that moment, the two men looked at each other. The air was so cold that it could freeze a river.

Eric understood what Clayton said, but he did not expect Clayton to know about that plan.

Eric thought that he hid it well and even sacrificed himself.

Clayton smiled as if he was watching a good show.

"You didn't expect me to know from the beginning, right?"

Eric frowned. "How could you know?"

Clayton's smile deepened. His eyes were dark and cold.

"Those are my things, so it's up to me whether to let them go or not. You think that you're smart enough to involve me and the Stanton family into this, get rid of Tyler, and in the meantime, get rid of me too. You think that all will be well once you kill three birds with one stone and reap the benefits."

Eric's eyes narrowed, and his breathing quickened.

"Who told you that?"

Eric's voice was dull.

Clayton chuckled lightly. "Take a guess."

After he finished speaking, Clayton turned around and walked out.

The dim light blurred Clayton's figure and elongated his shadow. Eric suddenly felt a chill in his heart.

Eric breathed heavily. He had underestimated Clayton.

He thought his plan was flawless.

Clayton missed out on another reason. Eric had another purpose. After he got rid of Clayton, he assumed that Clayton would run away and abandon Nicole. Then, Eric's plan would succeed. This was the only secret he kept in his heart that could not be made known to anyone.

However, it was a long shot.

The man, who walked to the door, suddenly stopped, clicked his tongue, and took a few steps back. He did not go to Eric.

"By the way, Angie asked me to relay you a message. You keep your promise to her."

Eric's eyes turned cold, and he pursed his lips.

"Where is she?"

"You won't be able to see her."

"What are you trying to do?"

Clayton smiled and said recklessly, "I can do whatever I want with her."

He could not figure Eric out. Why was Eric still in the mood to be concerned about Angie?

Was Eric ruthless or soft-hearted?

Eric did not say much.

Just thinking about what he promised Angie made Eric's face turn glum.

The pain Eric felt made him uncomfortable. Clayton decided to let Eric go this time, which meant that Nicole had woken up and that her condition was stable.

Eric breathed a sigh of relief.

At least Nicole was still alive.

Eric only deserved to watch her from a distance.

Early in the morning, Clayton's bodyguard took Eric out and sent him to the dock discreetly.

They even returned Eric's phone to him, fully charged.

The wind on the dock was very strong, and it was howling.

Eric's shirt was stained with blood, and he stood there looking so wretched.

Looking at the rough and bottomless sea, Eric suppressed the pain that flashed in his eyes.

Someone slowly walked over from a rock not far away behind Eric.

She kept crying, and she choked up as she approached him.

'Eric, we're finally safe now!"
