The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 2023 Personal Space

The floor carpet was very thick, and all sharp edges were covered with a soft protective layer, so there was no need to worry that Chatty would fall and hurt herself. Chatty was also very tenacious.

She followed Daddy and Mommy without crying or making a fuss, and climbed down the stairs steadily, step by step.

Floyd glared at the couple before him, then ran over to carry Chatty.

"Our little Chatty is so amazing! She can climb stairs at such a young age. What a genius!"

Clayton paused and thought that it sounded familiar.

Julie ran inside and hugged Nicole happily.

"You're finally back! You went on vacation so suddenly that I wasn't even aware!"

It was indeed sudden.

Nicole smiled, but she could not explain certain things.

"Well, I wanted to give you and Third

Brother some personal space."

Kai sat on the sofa in the living room and looked up nonchalantly.

"I think you wanted some personal space and used us as an excuse! I feel exploited!"

Julie clicked her tongue, and Kai consciously shut his mouth.

Nicole laughed and thought that Kai deserved it.

Everyone was there, so Nicole did not have to look after Chatty.

Thus, Nicole went to have tea with Julie in the greenhouse outside.

Julie was arranging the tablecloth with her head down when she heard Nicole approaching and sighing.

"I haven't been back for almost a month. Nothing happened, right?"

"Ms. Stanton, you're so well-informed, so why are you asking unnecessary questions?"

Julie shook her head and laughed.

Nicole pursed her lips.

"Clayton only told me about the good news when I was recovering from an injury abroad. I didn't notice for a while that he was just sugar-coating everything. All I heard was his filtered news." Julie's body froze. She turned to look at Nicole with a look of astonishment on her face.

"Recover from an injury? You were injured?!"

Julie took a step forward. Her eyes were filled with shock and concern.

Nicole smiled. "I'm fully recovered now. It's just a minor injury, so don't tell anyone about it. If Dad replaces out, he'll get worried again."

Julie frowned slightly.

"What happened? Didn't you go on vacation? How did you get injured?"

Nicole raised her eyebrows. "It's all because of that trouble from before. But we don't have to worry now. Tyler has already been arrested."

Julie fell silent.

Nicole quickly changed the subject. "Is everything going well with Yvette? I'm most worried about her."

Julie rolled her eyes.

"No, she's not doing so well. You know her temper. How could she control those people? Also... She's pregnant, so Lance wants her to come back. But she refuses to, saying that she'd rather not have the baby. She doesn't want to give up halfway."

Nicole paused ?b-

Yvette Quimbey did have a bad temper.

She was competitive and would not admit defeat, but she could also hurt others easily.

Nicole sighed and sat on the side.

"I'll go and take a look when I'm there on a business trip in a few days.

"I don't know how to persuade her. She wants both her baby and her career, but they're just conflicting interests for her right now. Yvette still hasn't gained a firm foothold and failed several times as soon as she got there, so everyone is just waiting to see her make a fool of herself."

Nicole nodded and smiled.

"Do you wanna go together if you have time?"

"Sure!"

Julie agreed.

She lowered her head and took a sip of rose water. Suddenly, she remembered something and turned to look at Nicole.

"You know what? The most interesting news that's been going around recently is that Angie's and Eric's son is not with Eric. But Angie isn't here. Did she throw her son over to Eric to reserve a seat for herself?"

Nicole glanced at Julie calmly and shook her head.

She did not understand what Angie was thinking at all.

If Nicole understood, she would not have fallen for Angie's trap.

Thinking of this incident, Nicole still had some lingering fears.

Julie did not know about Nicole's accident and continued to gossip with her.

"All those ladies in the circle who were vying to be Eric's wife before were suddenly reduced by half, now that his son popped out of nowhere."

Nicole smiled indifferently.

She felt like laughing a little.

Julie leaned forward and said, "I heard that Eric's son has a speech disability."

Nicole was dumbfounded and slightly shocked.

Julie sighed.

"Eric doesn't care much about this son of his. He never brought his son out and didn't allow his son to stay with him at home. Instead, he found a boarding school for his son and threw him there. How pitiful ... Angie incapacitated Eric's father, and her brother killed Eric's grandfather. They even used his mother and sister to blackmail him. Yet Eric is now forced to recognize her son. It's pretty miserable come to think of it. If it was me, I wouldn't know what to do with this child who came out of nowhere either."

After all, his son was innocent, but his son's mother was truly heinous.

It would be really shocking if Eric could accept it calmly.

Nicole paused and pursed her lips.

"Old Master Ferguson's funeral is at the end of the month. There are still a few days left until then, but I'm wondering if Clayton should go..."

Julie also thought about it.

Clayton's and Eric's identities were indeed awkward.

It made sense for Nicole to be present as part of the Stanton family, but if Clayton went, Nicole was afraid that Eric would make a scene. If that happened, it would not end well, and everyone's reputation would be at stake.

The two women thought about it for a while but did not come to a conclusion.

Nicole sighed.

"Old Master Ferguson was an influential figure back then. It's a pity that he just died like that."

Nicole only felt pity for him.

She would never forget Old Master Ferguson's dissatisfaction and deliberate inconvenience when she married into the Ferguson family.

Fortunately, that was all in the past.

When it was almost noon, Aida came over.

Everyone had a very pleasant meal.

After the meal, Floyd summoned Clayton to the study.

They did not come downstairs after a long time.

Nicole absent-mindedly waited for them downstairs.

She was not in the mood even when Chatty brought over some toys to play with her.

Thus, Chatty went to replace Levi.

Aida came back from a phone call and looked at Grant.

"Are you really going to send our son to a boarding school?"

Grant raised his eyebrows. "Didn't we already discuss this? At his age, he can start to cultivate a sense of independence."

"But he'll think that we don't love him."

Grant laughed. "No, he won't. We'll talk to the school and pick him up once every two days. Next year, we can pick him up once every three days so that he can have some time to get used to it." Nicole's eyes widened. "Boarding school?! How old is Levi?!"

Aida sighed and rubbed her temples.

"My thoughts exactly! But your brother insisted on doing this!"

Nicole looked at Grant with a frown.

"Big Brother..."

Grant explained patiently, "Both Aida and I are very busy with work. Even if Levi stays with Dad, he won't be able to learn more. Instead of letting the maids, nannies, and tutors teach him, we might as well let him get used to school life."

Nicole frowned. That sounded quite reasonable.

Seeing that Nicole was moved by his explanation, Grant paused and added," Actually, Chatty can also start now. Just as well, she can accompany Levi!"

Nicole was taken aback.

Aida, who was always elegant and reserved, also could not help but roll her eyes speechlessly.
