While Mel was petrified, Matis did not fare any better.

He was leaning against the hallway walls, his eyes blank and his expression miserable.

"Mom... I think we're dead..." he murmured. "He can bend the Soranos to his will, and even Emilio Sorano is here to apologize... What do we even amount to..."

Matis certainly felt like a clown-the blind type, as he remembered how much he tried to flex his sense of superiority over Frank!

Just then, Emilio spoke from within Nash's ward, "Mr. Lawrence, my father told me to bring Willy here and apologize personally. I hope you can forgive my wretched son's atrocity, and we have prepared a suitable compensation-here, this check is worth 500 million dollars. Please accept it."

Seeing that Emilio was sincere, Frank nodded at Kat. "Go on. Take it."

"Okay."

Kat was caught fearless but remained fearless thanks to sheer inexperience and took Emilio's check.

"Haha..."

Emilio smiled as she took it. "Well, since you've accepted our compensation, I believe we have an understanding now?"

"Oh, my sweet summer child."

Frank sneered, folding his arms before his chest and turning pointedly toward Nash. "Get Willy Sorano over here to kowtow and apologize already." "Not a problem."

Emilio actually smiled and turned behind to speak quietly but sternly, "Bring him over."

"Oof..." Willy groaned even as he was being carried over.

His eyes were unfocused and his expression haggard. He was a completely different man after just one day.

Thud.

Emilio's eyes flickered for a moment with rage as he watched his son kneel despite his pain.

However, he would never disobey his father, and he promptly withheld all his emotions as he stared at Willy impassively. "Go on. Kowtow in apology. "Ooof..."

Biting on his mouth guard, Willy fought through the pain to kowtow three times at Nash before leveling a pleading look at Frank.

He was willing to die right then-all he wanted was for Frank to spare him this misery.

"My son has apologized. Is there anything else you'd like to ask, Mr. Lawrence?" Emilio asked.

"Hmph. Well, there is sincerity," Frank said, not caring to add anything further.

However, he found their attitude suspicious-compliance was just not the Soranos' style.

If anything, Frank suspected that they had caught onto his real identity.

Nonetheless, he decided to test them and turned to Kat. "That's the man who hurt your father. Do what you will."

"That's out of line!" the Sorano executive from before bellowed.

On the other hand, Emilio did not react at all and simply stared at Kat.

He certainly did not believe that the girl would do it!

"Don't worry. Just do it," Frank said when he noticed Kat's conflict.

His eyes, however, remained fixed on Emilio-he could sense the air around the man stirring.
