As they returned to their table, Will made up the excuse that he fell and had his hand stabbed by a fork on the floor, thus causing the earlier commotion. Cindy certainly could not just sit and watch, and she started to pull him along. "Come on. Let's get you to a doctor to clean that up."

"

"It's fine," Will said awkwardly, peeking at Frank and clearing his throat. "Mr. Lawrence has already helped me, and it doesn't hurt anymore, so...' Naturally, Cindy did not trust him at all and scoffed at the idea that Frank could help. "No way! He's just some common thug-who would you rather believe, him or a doctor?! Let's go already, or you'd get an infection because of him. It'd be terrible if it leaves a scar..."

Ultimately, Will had no choice but to leave as Cindy basically dragged him away.

Exasperated, he nodded at Frank before he left, though Frank was taking a sip of coffee and did not seem to respond.

Helen watched as Will and Cindy left, and she turned anxiously toward Frank. "Did you just-"

Frank nodded, admitting to it right then. "Don't worry. He's not going to bother you anymore."

Helen remained flustered. "That's not all, Frank. He made copies of vital documents from my laptop. If Lanecorp's rivals get their hands on those files-"

"Don't worry. He wouldn't dare," Frank replied, finishing his coffee while flashing her a reassuring smile.

Seeing that, Helen could only nod despite her misgivings-Frank had never let her down, after all.

After finishing lunch and leaving Grand Coast Hotel, Frank remembered to call Vicky Turnbull and warn her.

Vicky was actually surprised by the news, since the Lionhearts had been unexpectedly calm in Morhen-there were no signs they were getting ready for war.

"Could you have made a mistake, Frank?" She giggled, holding her phone between her ear and shoulder while working. "Uncle Glen's just called, saying that Titus' father dragged him to Turnbull Estate and apologized there were even talks of repairing relations."

Frank was silent for a while as Helen watched, but he said staunchly, "Either way, just be prepared. You don't have to tell your uncle, but prepare for the worst nonetheless. At the very least, make sure that you and your parents are safe."

"Got it." Vicky nodded, feeling somber as well since Frank was not joking at all.

After hanging up, Frank called Trevor Zurich and Burt Yorkman. He could feel the danger all too well, so he told them to send more men and strengthen security at Riverton just for his peace of mind. "What is Sif Lionheart up to?"

Frank remembered that he and Ciaran Zobel-his fellow apprentice from Mystic Sky Sect-had worked together to set a trap on Sif.

She was supposedly confined at Turnbull Estate, but Glen must have come up with a deal with the Lionhearts and released her. Still, Sif must be holding a grudge on Frank over the kidnapping, or she would not have gone out of her way to distract him. That also begged the question-where was Ciaran now?

It had been a month since she said she would head to Riverton, but Frank never received even a text from her, let alone saw her.

He was starting to get worried-could the Lionhearts have caught her?

Still, with that concern in mind, he and Helen checked into the luxury hotel they had booked before...
