The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage by Chu -
Chapter 1118
Frank nodded at Will as he passed him the pill. "You did well-as promised, this is the antidote. It will cure the poison inside you." "Thank you, Mr. Lawrence," Will said as he took it respectfully.
Frank then asked, "I can see that you've trained in martial arts too?"
"Oh, uh..." Will scratched his head in embarrassment and flashed a pained smile. "I did, but it's just one basic style, so..."
"Good." Frank passed him another pill. "This is an Ichor Pill, which strengthens the vigor. It's nothing divine, but it's arguably up there. Take it when you start training again, and you'll be a vigor wielder at that." "Thank you, Mr. Lawrence!" Will exclaimed as he accepted the pill enthusiastically, gratitude showing in his eyes.
Naturally, he had learned martial arts from Sif, who was nonchalant as he proved to be a slow learner.
To add insult to injury, she told him that he could not blame anyone for his lack of talent.
On the other hand, Frank would assist him in overcoming that shortcoming instead.
There was no question that the pill Frank gave him was the real deal, as Frank had his life in his hands and had no reason to lie.
It was certainly a far cry from the Lionhearts' treatment, and the scales in Will's mind leaned to Frank's side right then.
He was compelled to obey Frank because of the poison and threat of torture before. In fact, he had come to Lanecorp to ask for an antidote, only to get a solid reward instead.
There was no question that Frank had given him more goodies and was serious about helping him develop. Having seen that, Will made up his mind.
He eagerly excused himself, ready to test the effectiveness of the pill Frank gave him. Frank nodded at Will's delighted reaction-he had truly brought Will over to his side.
The carrot-and-stick approach was truly an unchanging rule!
"I wonder how things are going with Helen," he muttered to himself just then and headed to Helen's office.
Helen was actually left dumbstruck as Gene had already signed the transfer agreement for the land deed.
She could hardly believe it-how on earth did Frank get Gene to agree to his request?
And to her delight, there was more.
Aside from selling the land deeds at the basic price, Gene also signed another agreement to seal a long-term partnership with Lanecorp. Starting today, he would be the second largest shareholder of Lanecorp!
His investment left Helen beaming, and she even pressed her advantage by taking Frank and Gene along to where Kallum Gaetz had been confined.
Kallum was left deflated as soon as he saw the agreements and could not say a word after Helen introduced Gene.
He sighed, yielding to Helen right then.
"What about the third task?" Helen asked.
"That's unnecessary." Kallum chuckled bitterly. "What would even qualify when you have someone like Gene Pearce investing in Lanecorp? Just go already. Don't worry, I'll return every last dime of the company's money."
