And the blood on that rock was the essence of Mystic Sky Sect's chief, failing his transcendence as mobs of martial artists attacked him.

Despite his failure, the chief of Mystic Sky Sect-Frank's mentor-had vaguely cultivated a strand of sage aura.

And the blood on that rock contained it.

Be it from a standpoint of principle or sentiment, Frank refused to let the rock fall into anyone else's hands.

The blood on that rock was a representation of his mentor's resentment.

A representation of the tragedy that was the fall of Mystic Sky Sect.

A representation of the three years Frank spent adrift.

Therefore, that rock was priceless for Frank-he would even buy it for a trillion, let alone five billion.

Once Frank made payment, he was given the stone as he wished.

It felt warm in his hand, as if the blood on it had yet to dry.

Frank almost could not stop his tears just then, but he ultimately did.

"Just watch, master," he vowed in his mind to the rock. "One day, I will restore Mystic Sky Sect... and all our enemies will pay." The rock seemed to resonate right then, and it seemed to flicker in Frank's arms.

"What?! Why..."

Everyone could see the rock glowing in Frank's arms, and were all gaping silently in astonishment.

A glowing rock? What on earth was it?!

The rock then started to expand twice its size, and...

Crack!

It shattered into pieces as everyone watched.

"Hmm?!"

Even so, Frank could feel it profoundly.

As if the essence on the rock was alive, and subtly seeping into his open palm, fusing with the pure vigor within his body.

Frank could feel the pure vigor in him condensing into liquid, trickling and extending across every meridian in his body.

He ascended!

His cultivation skyrocketed without anyone noticing, rising from full-fledged Birthright rank up to Ascendant pinnacle.

"What..."

"Hahahaha..."

While Frank stared at his palms in disbelief, Hugh was laughing deafeningly in the distance, unaware of Frank's ascendance.

All he saw was Frank holding that red coral crystal, which shattered into dust all over the floor in an instant.

Seeing the shock on Frank's face, Hugh quickly came to his senses and scoffed. "What the heck, Frank? You bought that useless rock for five billion... Tut, tut, what keen eyes you have!" The other guests were amused too-even if Frank did show that he had an outstanding eye for appraisal, he had spent billions for a useless rock.

Such comeuppance could not have been quicker!

Frank, however, said nothing.

He was quietly relishing the change in his meridians and pure vigor and repressing the omen of his ascension.

If he did not and allowed his pure vigor to explode, Jade Dragon would be reduced to rubble, while Hugh and the other people in the room would be vaporized.

As Frank stayed silent, Hugh narrowed his eyes and gestured at the stewardesses. "Go and pick up every last shard for Mr. Lawrence here. Don't miss anything-those shards are worth five billion!"
