Helen then continued, "But since we have plans for that land lot, we didn't take the Bearsons' offer. They kept suggesting partnerships to develop it together, which I refused too."

"Okay, got it."

Frank was sneering even as he hung up.

There was little wonder, as the land that he bought off Gina proved to be a treasure, where a spiritron vein had been embedded.

He certainly had no reason to give it up now that he had it-no, he would rather destroy it than let Kilian acquire it!

Soon, their black car stopped by the curb.

They had arrived before a pair of towering steel gates, behind which stood a large mansion surrounded by gardens.

It had everything, from parking lots to gardens and the like. It would not measure up to the estates of the Four Families of Morhen, but it had the advantage of being in a quiet location. Moreover, it was not too far from the city, taking just half an hour of travel to reach Lanecorp Tower. Frank was satisfied after just one glance, while Thunder and Bolt alighted and opened the doors for him and Silverbell.

"Um... May I ask why you came here?" Thunder asked tentatively and respectfully.

Silverbell turned quizzically toward Frank too-even if he wanted payback against the Bearsons, this was not the place as Troy did not live here.

"Just wanted new digs." Frank walked up to the gates and pressed the doorbell.

Both Thunder and Bolt traded glances, surprised that Frank would be so polite instead of kicking down the door.

"Yes? How can I help you?" an elderly voice spoke from the other end of the intercom.

"Gene Pearce sent me to discuss the sales of this mansion," Frank replied.

"I see. Just a moment, I—"

"Who's that, garcon?" a younger man's voice asked, clearly annoyed.

"It's the buyer," the elderly man replied respectfully. "Mr. Pearce made an appointment for him."

"What?!"

There were footsteps, as the younger man soon bellowed into the intercom, "I don't know where you're from, kid, but this mansion is not for sale! You hear me?! Now get out of here!" Thunder and Bolt were narrowing their eyes as they watched the youth barely in his twenties snap at Frank.

What the hell was wrong with that boy? Snapping at a Transcendent rank?

Even Frank was scowling after being snapped at. He replied coolly, "I've come under Gene Pearce's request. He agreed to let me have this mansion-"

"I don't know any Gene Pearce, so fuck off! If you don't... Well, I guess my bodyguards will teach you some respect!"

Once he finished, the youth turned off the intercom.

Soon, the steel gates slowly opened and over a dozen bodyguards strode out, surrounding Frank and the others.

Their leader was laughing even as he said, "Did you hear that? Mr. Bearson is telling you to fuck off! I'll spare you since we're in a good mood, but give me crap and I'll break your legs!" Thunder and Bolt had enough right then and snickered as they strode up.
