The Last Royal Luna
(Book 2) – Chapter 4

“That is it. I have had enough. Normally I don’t care to tell assholes who I am but you’re really pushing my buttons.” The beta’s body went tense and rushed over to protect his Alpha. Like that will help, bud. “I am the Royal Princess and future Queen, Ryder. Touch me or my people and die.” Blue growled with enough power to send everyone to their knees but the Alpha’s.

The Alpha’s eyes got huge and stepped back. He didn’t want to submit, and you could tell he was fighting his wolf. This is not how I wanted this to go. Why are men so judgy when they say we females judge people too quickly?

“I am sorry, Princess. I did not know. How and when were you found? We all thought you had died or someone stole you to keep it quiet that they would get your power and position when you were old enough.” He finally bowed and Blue let them all up. I really thought he was going to fight it more. Hopefully this doesn’t become something worse.

“We can discuss that all later. Right now my BEST friend melissa and MY Beta will be heading out. They will be allowed to leave and you won’t keep us from them. She has saved my a*s many times and I trust her more than I do most people.” I waited for him to argue but he just nodded and waved his hands so his warriors stood down.

“We are sorry, Princess. I know you have been on the road for awhile so let’s get you to your rooms and relaxed before dinner. We can speak after that. I have a few things to take care of and I can’t wait to hear your story.” The Alpha turned and walked up the stairs with his pack mates following. “You each have your own rooms so Sarah can you show the princess her room and Beta show the men theirs.” They both nodded and waited on us.

I gave Melissa and Alistair a hug before they left. I went slower than I normally would waiting for the guys to argue about staying in the same room but none spoke up. I looked at them and they avoided my gaze. I felt my heart hurt and I had to hold in a whimper. I just had to get away from them and figure it out on my own. I may have to cut them off and harden my heart if they can’t fix this.

‘I hope you aren’t on your way to call other Alpha’s and brag about who I am. I have things to do and people to surprise. I would rather not be angry at you.’ I linked Alpha Roger.

‘How can you link me in my head! I would never do that. I just need sometime to think. I thought the royal line was dead so this is crazy.’ He linked back in a very surprised voice. Blue giggled.

‘It’s a royal thing. I get that you are in a bit of a shock and I hate doing it this way. I just have to keep what I can a secret so I can replace true followers. I have had enough power-hungry Alpha’s in the last four months than I ever wanted. I don’t want to take another one down.” Blue put a bit more emphasis on taking another one down, so he understood the gravity of the situation.

‘I get it. I just need some time. I will see you all for dinner and a heavy talk afterwards.’

I let him end the link because I understand how you feel when people drop things on you or blind side you.

“This is going to be your room. You have your own bathroom which is a step up from many of the rooms here. The men you are with are down the hallway on the other side of the top floor. They have to share a bathroom.” She was trying to make me laugh so I gave a forced chuckle. At least she noticed I was upset but was nice enough not to ask.

“Thank you for this. I will replace my way down to the dining room at 6.” She nodded and shut the door behind her when she walked out. I knew I was probably going to get lost but it gave me more time before I had to face anyone. I had to get my head on straight.

Opened up my mind link for the guys and was instantly hit with Alistair pushing through. I had no idea how far I could link since I hadn’t ever tried. Alistair was about 45 miles away and he was coming in crystal clear.

‘Ryder we made it to the coven. So far so good. They welcomed us and gave us a room to stay in. We are about to get a tour with the High Priestess and discuss the war effort we have going on. Should we tell her about you?’ Alistair linked. It sounded as if he was in the same building as me so I was a bit shocked.

‘She can know who I am but my powers stay a secret. I am glad they welcomed you. This Alpha is gong to get the biggest guilt trip of his life after dinner.’ I joked. I probably was putting too much effort into seeming ok but I can’t show any weakness in a new pack.

‘Oh I feel sorry for him. Everything is fine. You stay safe and be strong. Those i***t mates of yours better come around soon and grovel or I will let Melissa play with them.’ I could hear him cackling through the link. I couldn’t help but join in. I was just glad she was on my side since she could be a tad bit evil in her punishments. We said our goodbyes so they could take their tour.

I let myself fall apart in the shower and was still crying with my arms wrapped around me when the water ran cold. I felt bad that the next person to take a shower would be getting some icy cold water. I told myself when I walked out of the bathroom the tears were done and that is exactly what I did. I changed into dark blue jeans with a purple halter top, my socks that don’t match because only normal people match their cartoon socks, and my converse. I saw I had about fifteen minutes until time to go down to dinner. I had a small pep talk and opened my door only to be surprised at who was there.

“Ryder, can we talk before we head down to dinner?” Asher asks in a tiny, uncomfortable voice. The other guys are standing around him looking nervous and none will look me in the eye.

“Id rather talk after dinner and the meeting with the Alpha. I don’t want my appetite ruined by lies and heart break.” Blue rolled her eyes at me but I couldn’t help it. She may feel better since the guys wolves are shutting them out but the human part of them is still acting like they are in the right.

“Please. It will be quick.” Blake steps forward and reaches for my hand. I pull it back and step back for them to enter the room. I go and sit in an arm chair by the balcony giving me as much distance from them as possible.

“Ok. Talk.” I had to keep telling myself to breathe and don’t kick their asses. I would break too many things in this room.
