The Last Royal Luna
(Book 2) – Chapter 5

“We are sorry for what we did at the diner. We were scared that if we told Charles who you were he would just try to take you and hurt you to get what he wanted instead of sticking to his word of safety. We wanted to protect you.” Knox started out.

“Our dad mentioned holding back information from the Alpha’s until we saw what side they were on. I figured he meant keeping it a secret that you had several mates so we decided to step out of the way for one of the other guys to claim you as theirs. We also figured we should just let it be that way with any new person we meet until everyone knows about you.” Kane finished saying.

“I had no idea what was going on but I did want to keep you safe. When they didn’t say you were their mate and played it like they had a mate back on the pack lands I figured it was to keep you safe and that you knew about it. “Asher threw the other guys under the bus. He was still in hot water for the crap with the Alpha.

“I agree with keeping you safe. I don’t trust any vampires and that Alpha sounded like a power-hungry d**k. Id rather claim a random wolf so that way she would be the one who got hurt and not you.” Andrew crossed his arms and his eyes locked onto mine daring to fight his statement. He just didn’t realize how much his statement had broken my heart.

I looked at Blake and waited for his excuse to come. He just looked up with tears in his eyes and stared at me. I could feel his pain and anger at himself.

“Ok so let me get this straight. The twins thought I was useless in a fight and couldn’t protect myself while also not thinking about respecting me as a person. Asher just didn’t care enough to stand up for me and went with what the twins decided. Asher also decided not to tell the Alpha I was his mate and this being one of the packs he visited when searching for his mate so we all know he got laid while he was here. So glad your still on the market, assface.” I whipped a glare and snarl at him before turning toward Andrew. “I can see from your stance and what you said you are on the defensive. So most of what you said was crap but you still broke a piece of my heart stating you would claim someone else and not care if they died for me. You all know me better than that. Blake just being sorry isn’t gonna cut it. How would you all feel if tonight at dinner I didn’t claim you as my mates?”

Snarls came from everyone before they start seething in anger and yelling about how I couldn’t not claim my mates. I was theirs and I should be proud of them. I just sat and waited until they realized the gravity of the s**t they pulled. Blake was the first when his eyes went wide before running to get on his knees in front of me while repeating how sorry he was and he would shout it from the roof tops all night if it would make me smile.

“Just one last thing before we go down to a dinner where I will be thinking of your punishments. I could whoop any of your asses no matter how many of you came at me and your twice at least more powerful than any other wolf…. Next time you decide to do something for me without discussing it with me I will drop kick all your asses right then.” They all stared wide eyed and nodded. Good scared little Alphas.

The dinner was small and informal which I was very appreciative of because I was sick of people’s eyes on me. The alpha did mind link me on my way down to ask me about his parents being there which was fine. He explained that they had known my parents and never knew what had become of me. I just hoped they had some good stories about my parents so that I could know them even better.

When I walked in they stopped talking to their son and stared at me like they couldn’t place my face or who I might look like. Their mouths dropped and the formal Luna started crying when they realized who I looked like. The Alpha walked up to me and shook my hand before bowing.

“Princess Ryder is that really you? The last time I saw you, you were a week old and you already had your father wrapped around your finger.” The former Alpha whispered in surprise. If we all hadn’t been werewolves, we wouldn’t of heard him.

“Please don’t bow. We are all friends here. I am thankful you and your wife were able to make dinner. I would love to hear some stories about my parents, if you don’t mind.” I smiled before walking over to the dinner table.

“I would love to tell you stories about your parents. Your mother was an amazing woman and very sassy. She was able to put someone in their place with just her words and tone of her voice. I was on the tale end of a few of her lectures and I never felt more embarrassed.” The former Luna shook her head like she was hearing it now. “You look just like her and from what Roger has told us on your first meeting you don’t put up with anything either.”

“Yea, our first meeting wasn’t the best. I am a bit unconventional in my friends and who I trust. Hopefully after our meeting tonight we will be on more level ground.” I looked at Alpha Roger waiting for him to take a seat.

The table was big enough for all of us to sit together but not feel too crowded. Alpha Roger sat at the head of the table with his Beta and Female Beta sitting on his left along with his parents. He had us sitting on his right There was a mystery female who was seated at the end by the former Luna who kept looking at my mates but I didn’t saw anything. I sat down with Asher sitting beside me and the rest following him in picking seats.

“Thank you all for joining me for dinner. I am thankful for this visit from one of our allied packs and am very thankful for the surprise guest that will help us get back to the way things used to be.” He picked his glass up and we followed.

“Thanks for having us. I know that my father was the one you made the alliance with and I hope that when we disclose how he ran our pack that won’t shed a bad light on us.” Asher stated with guilt. I wanted to grab his hand to make him feel better but no one knew we were mates so until one of them decided to fess up I was keeping silent. Petty, I know, but they needed to show they meant what they said before dinner.
