Chapter 176 Assisting in a Bath

Amanda shot him a sharp glare, suppressing her anger, and reluctantly picked up some vegetables to place in his bowl. Observing her sulky demeanor, Elias could not help but let a satisfied smile curl up at the corner of his mouth. After finishing their dinner, Selina went to the kitchen to tidy up, leaving the couple alone in the living room. The television played an animated series that was Aiden's favorite. Glancing at his wristwatch, Elias realized it was getting late and inquired, "Where should I sleep?"

"Just make yourself comfortable on the couch. It's cozy," Amanda replied with a faint smile.

He raised an eyebrow and stayed silent for a moment. Sleep... on... the... couch...? Well, this woman truly has a heart of steel.

Feeling a sense of displeasure, the man clenched his jaw and fixed his gaze on her flawless profile. "I want to take a bath. Help me," he stated, standing up and heading toward her bedroom. Her smile froze as she hesitated for a moment. "How can I help with your bath? Are you kidding me?"

"What's there to be shy about? It's not like you haven't seen it before. We've already had a child, so can't you help out? Come on, hurry up." He forcefully pushed open her bedroom door and walked in. Amanda watched helplessly as the man entered her bedroom. Instinctively, she stood up and shouted, "Hey! Why are you going into my room? Go wash up in the guestroom. Stop right there!"

In the kitchen, Selina heard her cries and could not help but poke her head out and ask, "What are you shouting about? Are you calling me?"

"No, it's nothing. I wasn't calling you. Just keep busy." Amanda waved her hand, then hastily made her way into her bedroom. This man simply could not sit still even for a moment. Even with an injured foot, he continued to be restless.

As she stepped into her bedroom, her eyes were immediately drawn to the sight of the man undressing, revealing his enticing chest and abs. Reflexively, she turned away and even covered her eyes, just like she did the first time she laid eyes on him, so innocent and naive.

Noticing her reaction, the man could not help but chuckle. "Is that necessary? It's not like we haven't been intimate before."

She grew furious and quickly turned around. "You're shameless! Act like a father, please—"

Before she could finish her sentence, she noticed Elias unfastening his belt, striking a seductive pose. "What are you doing? Are you seriously planning to bathe in my bathroom? Are you out of your mind? Have you forgotten that we're divorced? I have no obligation to take care of you!" She was losing her patience.

What exactly does this despicable man have in mind?

However, he had already discarded his clothes and confidently made his way toward the bathroom, shooting her a glance. "Help me. You're no longer obligated to take care of me, but I got injured because of you, so I have the right to ask for your assistance."

Amanda pointed at herself in disbelief. "Me? I think you've lost your mind, Elias! Get out of there! I'm not helping you!"

She approached the bathroom door and yelled inside, but unexpectedly, a long arm suddenly reached out and pulled her into the bathroom. In the following moments, screams echoed from the bathroom. Selina, standing outside the bedroom door, hurried over with concern. "Amanda, are you alright? What happened?"

After a few seconds, a composed voice emerged from the bedroom. "I'm fine. Just go to sleep."

Selina was with a puzzled expression, looking at the closed bedroom door. Since Amanda had said everything was fine, she could not push for more answers and could only turn around and leave. However, this was what actually happened-Amanda stood in the bathroom, staring at the man standing in front of her completely naked, shamelessly displaying himself without a trace of modesty. "Elias, what on earth are you trying to do? Have you gone insane?" she asked through gritted teeth, deliberately avoiding looking at his abdomen, but she could feel her cheeks growing warm, her heart racing. The man pointed toward the bathtub with his arrogant chin. "Help me fill the tub. I want to take a bath."

"Can't you take a shower instead? Why do you have to be so troublesome?" Her eyes inadvertently glanced at his waist before she quickly turned her head away.

He observed her reaction, and the smile on his lips grew even more intense. "My foot is injured. Taking a shower would involve water splashing on it. Hurry up and fill the tub."

Hold it in, hold it in, hold it in!

Amanda reminded herself he was currently an injured patient; she had to endure. Suppressing her anger, she walked over and filled the bathtub with water. At that moment, it was just the two of them in the bathroom, and Elias remained undressed. They seemed like a real couple, so natural together. Still, she found the atmosphere a little strange.

After some time had passed, the bathtub was filled with water, and the temperature was just right. "Alright, wash yourself. I'm leaving." She turned around, unable to stay a moment longer.

However, just as she took a couple of steps, the man pulled her back again. "Is this how you treat someone who saved your life? I asked you to help me take a bath. How am I supposed to do it now that I'm injured?"

She was utterly perplexed; she distinctly remembered that the snake had bitten the man's ankle, not his hand. So, why can't you just take your damn bath?! "Elias, you must be doing this on purpose. Your foot is injured, not your whole body. Why can't you wash yourself?"

"It's inconvenient. Lay me down in the bathtub and assist me."

Her face turned cold as she stared at him. "You're going too far! I've endured you for far too long!"

"Is this going too far? Am I going too far?" Elias turned and got into the bathtub himself, lying in a comfortable position with his injured foot resting on the edge of the tub. "I should be asking you how I've gone too far."

She had absolutely no idea what she did wrong.

"It was you who insisted that I accompany you and our son on the camping trip, and I ended up getting bitten by a snake while trying to protect you. And now, when I ask for a little care, you're unwilling to do so," the man spoke in a serious tone, but there was a hint of resentment in his voice.

Amanda was utterly baffled, blinking in confusion. It seemed like he was blaming her as if it were her fault. Reluctantly, she walked over and squatted in front of the bathtub, firmly grabbing his arm. "Don't move around. If you make a single move, I'm leaving immediately."

The man looked at her and nodded. "Alright."

She inwardly mocked, You're behaving like a good little boy now? Normally, you're as fierce as a Tibetan mastiff.

Throughout the process, Elias remained still, not making any sudden moves. He seemed to be enjoying this experience. It was not until Amanda's little hand reached into the bathtub that the towel accidentally fell into it. She originally wanted to fish it out but did not expect to touch somewhere sacred.

At that moment, both of them froze, neither making a move.

Her face turned bright red, unsure of what to do. As she lifted her head, her gaze met the man's dark eyes. Their eyes locked in a moment of awkwardness, spreading through the air.

The bathroom fell into such silence that one could hear a needle dropping to the floor.
