Chapter 177 Face Flushed, Heart Pounding
Elias' handsome face flushed with embarrassment, his brows slightly furrowed as he gazed at Amanda's delicate face. His voice was deep and hoarse as he said, "Are you still not letting go? How long are you planning to hold it?"
"I..." She quickly released her grip and withdrew it from the bathtub. She looked at her hand, still tingling from the heat. "You know what... You can come out on your own." With that, without even turning back, she swiftly left the bathroom. If she stayed longer, she felt like her face would turn completely red.
This time, Elias did not trouble her further and closed the bathroom door after she left. He casually leaned against the bathtub edge, using his hand for support, and stepped out of the tub. He picked up a nearby towel and wrapped it around his waist.
As he lowered his gaze to his waist, the spot Amanda had touched just moments ago, a smirk formed at the corner of his mouth.
In the bedroom, Amanda sat in front of the vanity, her heart racing. She caught a glimpse of her reflection and noticed her incredibly flushed face, resembling a ripe tomato. Did Elias notice how red my face was just now? It's so embarrassing...
She reminded herself that she was not inexperienced, having given birth to a child. There was no reason to blush over accidentally touching him in that area, right? Right?
Even Amanda could not understand why she blushed like a young, innocent girl. There was always someone in this world who could make her red and her heart race, just like a young girl in love. That person was probably Elias.
Frustration crept into her expression as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. When will I be able to move on and replace a new life? When will I replace another man? If I can't forget Elias and move forward, how can I start anew?
Meanwhile, the man walked out of the bathroom, wearing only a towel around his waist. He noticed her still-red cheeks and reddened eyes and could not help but ask, "Why are your eyes red? Are you crying?" "You jerk! Were you doing it on purpose?" She was filled with anger and had no outlet for it.
Elias looked somewhat innocent. "I was just following your instructions. I didn't move at all. You accidentally touched it yourself. How is that my fault?"
"I... You! Get out! I told you to sleep on the couch! Get out, get out, get out!" Amanda stood up and tried to push him toward the door.
At that moment, she realized the vast difference in physical strength between a man and a woman because she could not move him at all! He turned to look at her. "You want me to go out like this? The nanny is still outside."
She glanced down at his waist, only covered by a towel, and her eyes seemed to have X-ray vision, imagining what was beneath the towel. She shook her head, snapping out of her fantasy.
"I'll go get your clothes!" She walked toward the walk-in closet. Since she was sleeping in Elias' bedroom, many of his clothes were still around.
He stood there, watching her enter the closet. After a few seconds, she casually grabbed a set of pajamas and walked out, tossing it into his embrace. "Put it on and get on the couch."
He looked at the pajamas in his arms, frowning. "Can I have a different set?
"You're making a big deal out of nothing! It's just a set of pajamas. As long as you can put them on and sleep, it's fine!" Now, Amanda did not have time to argue with him. She only wanted to get him out of there quickly because she could still feel her cheeks burning.
"Fine." The man reluctantly agreed. He lowered his head and intended to untie the towel around his waist and change into the pajamas right there and then.
At that, she exclaimed in shock, "Hey, what are you doing?! Change somewhere else!"
However, he calmly looked at her and asked, "Are you sure? Should I go out and change?"
She silently turned away and said, "You have one minute to change and get out." Then, she heard the sound of the man tossing the towel onto the carpet after taking it off, followed by the ruffles of him changing into pajamas.
Those sounds were enough to stimulate her imagination and set her mind racing, with thoughts of the scene in the bathroom earlier when her hand reached into the bathtub and touched it. She desperately wanted to forget that moment, but no matter how hard she tried, the image became more vivid.
"I'm done. You can turn around now." The man's deep voice interrupted her thoughts, snapping her back to reality.
Amanda turned around and saw the man wearing the black pajamas, his short hair still dripping with water, giving him a mysterious and sexy look. These pajamas look good. Why doesn't he like them? Unable to resist, she asked, "Why don't you like this set of pajamas?"
"It's nothing. I'm going out now. You should get some sleep too. Let's pick up our kid together tomorrow." After saying that, he left the bedroom and closed the door behind him.
Hearing the door closing, she found her heartbeat finally calmed down. She sat in front of the dressing table and took another look at herself in the mirror. Her cheeks were indeed as red as tomatoes. How embarrassing.
Then, she lay on the bed but could not fall asleep. It was another sleepless night, with her mind filled with thoughts of the scene in the bathroom. What should I do? Her rationality told her that she could not go back to Elias' side and that she could not repeat the same mistake.
However, her body seemed to be more honest. She was still attracted to this man, her heart beating fast, her face turning red.
The next day. Amanda slept in until noon. She had taken a few days off from the law firm to go camping with her child, so she decided to make use of the day.
When she opened her eyes, it was already past noon. Selina had come knocking on her door several times to call her for lunch. She opened the bedroom door in a drowsy state and walked out with her messy hair, only to replace that Selina and Elias were absent. They both left?
She yawned and returned to the bedroom to freshen up and change clothes. When she exited the bedroom again, she suddenly saw Elias reappear on the couch as if by magic.
"You didn't leave? Where's Selina?" she asked.
"She went to buy groceries," the man replied.
She nodded and sat on the couch. "I thought you'd left."
"I just went out to smoke. We'll head over together this afternoon to pick Aiden up."
Amanda did not understand and could not help but ask, "Why do you insist on going with me? It's just picking up a child."
The man sneered and chuckled. "Without me, you wouldn't be able to get him back. My grandfather isn't that easy to deal with."
He knew his grandfather best, and once Aiden ended up in his grandfather's hands, he would not easily let go. If she went to pick up the child alone, there was a high chance she would not even get to see his face.
